  1. Highlight the FBI warning and click and you'll get in. Believe nothing out of the ordinary on the internet on this day!
  2. Thanks for the post. I really hope this album delivers. I'd hate for all this positive feedback and excitement to wind up falling flat because it sounds like S&A Part 2.
  3. I honestly thought that I would never like something MP did again, but this changed all that. Brilliant album. I absolutely love it, and think the collection of musicians is perfect. Casey and Steve Morse are the standouts. I adore Steve's playing (this is the 1st time I've ever heard him on an album) and Casey's vocals are stunning. And coming from a staunch hater of MP's vox, I can honestly say that Fool In My Heart is very well done and a great performance from him. 9/10

But if Symbolic is a 10/10, then Leprosy is a 9.7/10, and TSoP is a 9.9/10. What do you think of Human and Spiritual Healing, my personal faves? I love them both. Human has a couple of my favorite Death songs with Lack Of Comprehension and Secret Face. It's just so short that it's hard to rank higher than some of the later albums. Spiritual Healing might fall a bit lower on my list due to the sloppy playing of Bill Andrews, but I adore the title track, Defensive Personalities, and Killing Spree. Still, I'd rank it as my least favorite Death album. In order: Symbolic The Sound Of Perseverance Leprosy Individual Thought Patterns Human Scream Bloody Gore Spiritual Healing My list is almost exactly the opposite way around... Honestly, they have the most listenable discography of any band I listen to. I can enjoy Spiritual Healing almost as much as any of the others, and it's my least favorite. I love every single song they have. NP: Torn To Pieces

  7. Relayer is their best album. It's them at the peak of their creativity and displays a level of chaos they never explored again after this album. It is brash, it is ugly, it is chaotic, it is absolutely beautiful in every way. The insanity that is The Gates of Delirium sets up the gorgeous serenity of Soon so perfectly, it's the sunlight after a brutal storm. This song is the best thing Yes ever did, and the other two songs manage to capture insanity and tranquility in shorter packages.
  8. I would love to candidly ask how they pick and choose what songs to play. Like, why play Cold Fire over Cut To The Chase? Why play Double Agent over Alien Shore? And why not rotate them so you can play them both? I'll never understand how bands can write and record songs just to never play them live. What's the point then of even working on them or putting them on the album?
  9. I'll try to arrange it into an actual playable setlist, with encores and whatnot. Set 1: A Farewell To Kings Caravan Virtuality The Enemy Within The Weapon Witch Hunt Freeze Armor & Sword Roll The Bones The Fountain Of Lamneth Set 2: Hemispheres Before & After Open Secrets Cut To The Chase Jacob's Ladder Available Light 2112 Encore: Grand Designs In The End
  10. QUOTE (adace1 @ Mar 15 2012, 06:20 PM) Definitely going to this. http://legacy.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbe..._medium=twitter I'll trek up to NYC for this
  11. MP better thank God he made this album. It might just possibly erase the bad taste of Adrenaline Mob. I really cannot wait to hear this album
  12. I don't buy that Phil Collins story. Phil was a beast back then, and could do a simple 32nd note triplet across the toms
  13. QUOTE (The Owl @ Mar 13 2012, 06:00 PM) I was listening to "The Majesty Demos" today, and was thinking why was some of this stuff not re-recorded and released on the debut album? Tracks like Another One, A Vision, and Vital Star are all better than half of the songs from the debut album... (demo quality aside) Dominici wasn't able to sing a lot of those songs. In fact, at the audition he bombed on the Majesty stuff and basically was sure he wouldn't get the gig. He requested they play him some of the new material they were working on to sing instead (The Ones Who Help To Set The Sun and A Fortune In Lies, I believe) and they liked his take on those songs so much that they recruited him as their singer, which effectively stopped any Majesty stuff from being played again with him in the band (except for an edited 'A Vision'). They only played live with Dominici a couple of times and the sets consisted of WDADU, To Live Forever, the edited A Vision, an embryonic Metropolis, and covers.
  14. I predict that there will be a massive showdown at the farm next week between the group and zombies. Hershel and family (excluding Maggie) will all be killed and the group will finally relocate and move on. I don't foresee any more main characters dying this season. Shane getting killed was a shock. He was the only real point of tension within the group, and they just got rid of him. I think Rick's chat with Carl was very telling...basically telling him (and us) that everyone on the show is going to die at some point during the series. I hope Daryl's last.
  15. Just like Nick Raszcuwhatever said S&A is a return to their progressive rock sound?
  16. Wow. These past two episodes have been the best of this series. Can't believe they're dropping main characters so soon.
  17. I'd rate Circumstances, The Trees, and La Villa all as 10/10. The song Hemispheres would get an 8.5/10. I think the Apollo/Dionysius part goes on for too long, and Geddy's vocals annoy me towards the end. The Prelude is amazing, as is Armageddon. The Sphere is a good way to end the song too.
  18. Only songs I like are Bravado, Roll The Bones, and Ghost Of A Chance. Heresy is alright. The rest absolutely suck. Where's My Thing? is their worst instrumental, Dreamline bores me to tears, and the other 4 stinkers are too cheesy to be taken seriously. The mellow bridge of Face Up is cool.
  19. Panacea is a really great moment that no one talks about. I love the entire song with the exception of Didacts & Narpets. Just a stupid idea that could've been executed better. I wonder why they disowned this song so heavily after CoS. Usually when a band releases a 20 minute song, it's a major achievement in a band's career, especially considering this was their first. But it's like it never even existed. I'd like to see No One At The Bridge put into a medley as an instrumental. That solo is incredible, as is the overall vibe of the song.
  20. I think Kid Gloves has a real good chance of being played live. I would not like to see Red Sector A...it's been done to death over the years (along with Distant Early Warning). My top pick for GUP is The Enemy Within
  21. Ummm...goddamn. Didn't see that coming.
  22. QUOTE (Presto-a RUSH fan! @ Mar 4 2012, 08:15 PM) I can understand his stuff on kids/being a Dad and marriage could turn people off, but that is one of my favorite subjects he talks about. He does go over the top on those subjects, but just like your "chimp" clip, that is what makes it so funny, IMO. I am not a parent so I can't objectively comment on what it's like to be a parent, but my little Brother has two little girls, not as old as Louis CK's but with the same age gap between them, and he laughed so hard at all the stuff on kids/parenting (From his "Hilarious" CD). He said he almost felt bad for laughing but it was so funny he couldn't help it. So I do get that feeling you have. I just think you have to remember he goes to the extreme to make his points. If you end up seeing his new special, Live at the Beacon download for $5, my favorite part is how he talks about hating a 6 yr old in his daughters class. I don't think he really hates this kid, but the way he does it...it's just so freaking funny, IMO, of course. All that said, I like the chimp bit too...that is the first time I saw that one. I don't mind the content of the marriage/kids stuff, just the abundance. It's like when a black comedian spends an hour talking about being black, or a woman spends an hour talking about dating men. Too much of the same type of thing bores me. Luckily, he's moved away from putting too much of that into his sets nowadays
  23. Love Louis CK. I'm not a huge fan of his marriage/children rants, but he's got a lot of other great material. This is my favorite clip of his:
  24. QUOTE (tangy @ Mar 3 2012, 10:13 AM) QUOTE (GrandDesigner @ Mar 3 2012, 09:39 AM) This is going to be an incredible album. Everything Changes popped up on Youtube, and I'm in love. i still can't find it. anxious to hear this. in regards to pop music, Neal has written a number of great songs that leaned towards pop during his day with the beard, in particular: june, skin, all on a sunday and the healing colors of sound pt 2. It comes up every couple of days then gets pulled. The addition of Casey really makes this album stand out. I feel like if Neal was on vocals I wouldn't like it as much, simply because I've heard him SOOOO much over the past decade.
