  1. Since this is a Rush forum I can only assume you are referring to the lyrics of 'The Trees"... "...the maples scream 'Oppression' and the oaks just shake their heads..." And I didn't know they were playing the trees this tour...
  2. Since no one answered my ON TOPIC question in a closed thread - are they triggering the strings in Faithless or skipping them altogether? [laughing out loud right now]
  3. So ban me... That'll solve the problem. It worked for Tri-net and since you are patterning yourself after the leadership there, why not follow suit... Lol - Godwin's Law enacted... heh It was the Nazi's, I swear.
  4. QUOTE (anchorman @ Jul 19 2010, 11:05 AM) I like the music and hate the lyrics. Being Christian will do that to you. C'est la vie. Armor and Sword would have been a better choice from S&A. I can see your point... Being an atheist, I am drawn to the lyrics and really enjoy the music (with the exception of the 'My Favorite Headache Ben Mink string insertion'). I didn't really think Armor and Sword came off well live. Not bad, but it felt clunky each time I saw it live...
  5. Wow - really great shots thee Gene... You have a great eye for 'in the moment' shots for sure... Excellent capture of their energy in stills...

I call that an objective observation. Others call it whining. So it goes. "reality" WHAT KNOW YOU OF REALITY??????? yeah, aboot 100 out of 20,000 people went for a beer during that song. great, great, great way to justify your point. dumbass. maybe your meds wore off at that point in the show. Looks like I've got a new friend to follow me around and post incoherent, spittle-flecked drivel. You are perhaps the stupidest, yet least self-aware person I've come across on the Internet. I should have told you that yesterday. I'm sure your mother is proud. No go f**k off, troll. [grabs popcorn] This is going to get GOOD! This should be exciting... Probably more exciting than that darned "Faithless" song in Rush's set list... GeddyRulz - I loved The Pass and Bravado back-to-back... I thought it fit well... then boom - TBM... I don't want to be at the same BPM for every song... No it's not. He's been following every post of mine for two days with exactly this type of rambling. He's on ignore, so you can grab something healthier than popcorn. But but but... It's CORN.... that POPS... It must be healthy... lol... Much better than that tofu burger in my produce tray...

I recall the VT tour, how the band put "The Pass" and "Bravado" back-to-back. Two slow ballads, neither of which I'm particularly excited about. I was like, "Snoozers!" Then they went into the uptempo "The Big Money," and the show was back on track. Speaking of this tour and taking a break... I saw three shows on the VT tour, including opening night. After the first show, when we learned the setlist, I used "Red Sector A" as my song for trips to the bathroom or merchandise booth. I used Secret Touch. Yeah, I remember that. I will say, though, that Bravado and The Pass are far superior to Faithless. I respect your opinion... And I agree... The lovely part about music - it is all subjective to the person's tastes... For example - I personally LOVED that they played so much SnA in large chunks... It was a refreshing change... Faithless is still a great song... But again - I cannot WAIT to hear Presto for the first time ever live!

Hey now - open flames are off color for this type of post... I do believe that blatantly calling someone a 'dumbass' is an open flame. Do like I do and infer idiocy instead of accuse. I see a number of people going for beers during the drum solo too.

I'm sure it was Neil's idea to go along with BU2B, as if we weren't quite sure what his beliefs were lol. Actually, it's part of a THREE-in-a-row anti-organized religion trilogy, because "Freewill" is right there, too. Faithless BU2B Freewill And in that intent - I am perfectly content... heh... I'm fine with it, too. Just saying I noticed how the three anti-organized religion songs were grouped together, like a trilogy of sorts. I wasn't disagreeing - just trying to be rhymingly witty... fial on my part... A new Rush Trilogy (not unlike the Fear trilogy - except atheistic in nature... what would it be called, I wonder? "The Trying For Damnation trilogy"... lol)

  12. QUOTE (ProfGumby @ Jul 19 2010, 08:25 AM) QUOTE (Synthetic @ Jul 19 2010, 08:20 AM) Well it wouldn't be a Rush tour without the fanbois whining about something... Personally, I love the song and am surprised they are playing it live. I will wait to see how it turns out, but I do have one question: Since when does Rush really need to worry about 'interrupting the timing' of the setlist? OMFG people, do you truly have nothing else to bitch about? Last tour it was "Whah whah, they are playing all of the SnA songs in a row" and now "Whah whah - that anti-God song is right before the other anti-God song but I can't whine about that so I'll say it breaks the timing of the show"... Ridiculous... Then there are the other broken record horse-beaters "That would've been a great place for Jacob's Ladder or (insert other fanboi favorite here). I will admit - this reading is a bit comical, as I see a pattern here every tour... I think it was Entre Nous last tour that people were split about "It drags down the setlist" or "That'd been a great place for JL"... Comical, yet still pathetic, people... He he he...your going to fit in nicely here! And I could not have said it better myself! When you say 'here' I can only assume you mean this thread... Since I've been on this board for over a year - just not as interactive as I was on the original Rush board. Yeah - I think the setlist will be very interesting to see, I could live without half of MP though - I really think it was one of their weaker albums (although I do not dismiss it for its commercial success). I have heard the following songs way too many times from that album (yes - I know they are playing the whole album en mass, but I wanted to chime in): Tom Sawyer - Yes, I know they HAVE to play it, but really - such a sub-par song IMHO. Red Barchetta - Fortunately they don't play this one too much, so I may actually dig it. Great song - just worn out on me. YYZ - Every tour... Unnecessary - bring out Where's My Thing or another every once in a while... DAMN YOU GUITAR HERO!!!! lol Limelight - Again, good song, just tired and worn out. The Camera Eye - I really cannot fathom the obsession with this being played live... it is a good ALBUM song but it drones far too much to work live... we shall see... Witch Hunt - It sucked live the first time I saw it decades ago and it still sucks live now - a weak 'filler' song. Vital Signs - The only real saving grace to the album being played live (IMHO). I last saw it on the VT tour and was overwhelmed by it... Again - just my opinions... but this is how I fell... I cannot WAIT to hear Presto, however...

  14. This will never come to a win... too many holes and not enough research on the supposed Plaintiff's end...
  15. QUOTE (Snaked @ Jul 14 2010, 10:29 AM) This is where you're wrong. RUSH have been using triggers and sampling since before Moving Pictures. Just in a different manner than they are today. "Back in the day...." Marathon had just as much of the song sampled as it does today.. it was just executed differently. Very true... Good Posting!
  16. Well - as a technocrat I am happy they embrace technology and welcome more of it...
  17. *cough* Dead horse... You must keep in mind that all 3 of them are tirggering different effects. I have it as fact from one of the production engineers that EVERY sound (except the videos on the screen as intros, etc.) is triggered by a member of Rush. Yes - that means Neil is triggering guitar parts as well when it is necessary. What other band rehearses for months prior to a tour? Milli Vanilli... wow... sometimes Rush fans really surprise me by their ignorance to technology.
  18. Very cool - Ged is like that with the die hards who get first few rows... for the Manchester, NH show on the VT tour My sister and I were directly in front of him in the front row... 3rd song into it he says "Nice to see song familiar faces and stares right at me (it was my 14th show of that tour I think)... So very cool and I'm not usually all giddy about making the connections - I just want the music... Grats!
  19. I call BS on him being a lawyer... Given the terms of the SH Site and the terms on the ticket itself, there are no grounds whatsoever. This is simply a way to get attention - I'm over it... I surely hope your PHD is not in LAW... LMMFAOATFF.
