  1. So I was reading some stuff over on a bass related website and the discussion of Geddy using his famous 72 Jazz bass on the Moving Pictures tour came up. I originally thought he didn't play the jazz bass as is the case in the Exit Stage Left dvd. A quick google image search shows that he did indeed use the bass in at least a few of the shows on that tour. Anyways, my question is does anybody know what song(s) he used the jazz bass on? Thanks.

  2. Of course by hinting at this possibly being the last tour it will boost ticket sales. To say that Rush isn't touring because of the money is plain ignorant. Sure Alex and Geddy enjoy playing live still, and maybe to some extent Neil too, buut the fact is if they weren't still packing arenas they wouldn't still be touring.
  3. Rush has had the same techs for a long time. I'm assuming they are so very particular about the essentials like FOH (main mix), monitor mix Brent, that they are willing to pay them some sort of salary to NOT take on any other tours. Maybe they do some one off's but to keep them ready for Rush. I have a friend in the touring industry that is in that exact scenerio.

I don't think that is true. Alex's guitar tech Scott Appleton also works for Phil Collen when Def Leppard tours.

  4. My father has been a Rush fan since 1976, seeing them almost every tour since the 2112 tour. He used to play them when I was kid but I didn't really get into music until I was about 12. He had Fly By Night playing in the car one day and I was hooked since. That was summer 2006 and the next summer was my first time seeing them live. I was a big Rush fan before seeing that concert but came out just blown away by them.
  5. My friend's mom went to go see Black Sabbath back in the 70's and they had this relatively unknown band open for them. The crowd loved them so much they started crying for them to come back after Black Sabbath took the stage.

It was a band called Kansas.

I saw Van Halen open for Black Sabbath. I think it was '78. Van Halen blew them off the stage.

My father saw that tour, and said the same exact thing!

  6. Dammit, why do people complain so much on Geddys voice? He still sounds great!

When I saw them live on Clockwork Angels Tour, Geddy was singing 2112 just great! Do NOT remove 2112 from the setlist! Instead add a few more pieces on the song, I would love to hear Discovery and Presentation!

Sorry man but no he sounds good not great. Yes,he still puts on a great show but his voice is nowhere near where it used to be. For a long time I didn't want to believe it, and always defended Ged's voice but now it is what it is.

  7. I could first hear a change in Geddy's voice on the Test For Echo Tour. It didn't get worse until about 2007. Of course his voice is still good, just not what it once was.
