  2. I'm not at home, I'm on my private jet surfing the net on my laptop with satellite modem. I'm at 17,000 feet right now, we are decending and about to land in LA where I'm going to a party at Paris Hiltons pad. DAMN, my ears just popped bigtime, OK I have to go now, the pilot just flashed the fasten your seatbelt sign, Peace out everyone.

  4. QUOTE (Snowdog @ Mar 11 2005, 10:16 PM) Ok, I went to Blockbuster and rented Napoleon Dynamite. And tonight me and Mrs. Snowdog sat down to watch it. I not only had the TRF seal of approval, but several friends recommended this movie highly as well. Maybe with all of the rave reviews my expectations were too high. The movie was amusing and funny at times, but I just don't see myself wanting to watch this one again. What am I missing??? What am I not seeing that everyone else sees and loves??? I'm starting to get a complex about this because the same thing happened with "Snatch". Everyone raved about it and I was like, ok, that killed a couple of hours. Am I that much of a stick in the mud? Do I just not "get it"? It's so stupid that it's funny. Well, kind of funny. I think people like it because there's a kid like that in every town.
  5. QUOTE (barney_rebel @ Feb 24 2005, 05:31 PM) Wal-Mart hit with $7.5M jury verdict Jury found the discounter discriminated against a disabled employee; assigning him to garbage duty. February 24, 2005: 4:04 PM EST NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - A New York jury ordered Wal-Mart to pay $7.5 million in damages to a disabled former employee in a class-action lawsuit in which he claimed the retailer unfairly reassigned him to garbage duty even though he was hired to work in the pharmacy department. The plaintiff, 21-year-old Long Island resident Patrick Brady, suffers from cerebral palsy. According to the plaintiff's attorney Douglas Wigdor, Brady applied for a position in the pharmacy unit of a Wal-Mart store in Centereach, NY. and was hired in the summer of 2002. But Brady, who worked for just four days before he quit, claimed he was soon reassigned to other responsibilities that included collecting garbage and shopping carts in the Wal-Mart parking lot. That's the walmart I go to and fill my prescriptions, last time I went there they accidently gave me 60 too many Vicodins. I didn't complain. Gods honest truth.

Were all allright Were all allright Love that show...Really well done and representative of the time. I especially remember almost wearing some of those goofy shirts they wear. Who can forget corduroy? Too bad corduroy went out of style. Corduroy pants didn't really hold up too well and last very long but you have to admit, they are comfortable as hell!!! I liked when the ladies would see how tight they could wear their pants. Now the style seems to be to wear loose pants and you can't really tell the shape of the bootie too well. Chic jeans were my favorite, booties looked good in them. I know that some of the ladies that wore tight pants would have to jump off the bed just to get into them, then when they took them off it would be like opening a can of biskits. The good ol days. yeah, I'm bored alright.

    Middletown Dreams

QUOTE (ChainLightning @ Mar 7 2005, 12:51 PM) Middletown Dreams is a great song! My favourite off Power Windows is Emotion Detector. I agree with you about Emotion Detector, it's one of my favorite songs that rush has ever done, it brings back memories from the mid 80's when I was in my late teens. I especially like the part that says...." Trust is just as rare as devotion, forgive us our cynical thoughts" Everytime I hear that line it takes me back, so many memories from that Era. WOW, just WOW. If we need too much attention - Not content with being cool We must throw ourselves wide open And start acting like a fool If we need too much approval Then the cuts can seem too cruel............... Those lyrics touch me deeply for some reason. I'm going out on a limb here and say that this is one of Neils best songs as far as the lyrics are concerned.

I can't remember if I ever heard MD live, but Pedro's comment resonated with me. I think some songs can be great studio songs, but, for whatever reason, just not provide the same spark in a live setting. I happen to think Camera Eye is one of those songs. I love this song to death, but live it just.. doesn't seem to work. When did you hear Camera Eye live? I was wondering too...they haven't done that song since Moving Pictures tour...I have a live boot mp3 of it and it sounded pretty good to me They also played it on the Signals tour but if I remember right they only played some of it and left a couple parts out and then went into another song. I wish I had a signals boot to remember which parts they played.

I love this song to death, but live it just.. doesn't seem to work. When did you hear Camera Eye live? I know you wasn't asking me but I saw TCE live on the moving pictures tour and also signals tour. Although I like the song, Live, it seemed to be a dead spot in the show, people seemed bored when it was on and the crowd didn't react as they do for other rush songs. That's probably why they dropped it, either that or they didn't like playing it live themselves, and that could have something to do with the reaction. I know when I was in bands and played certain songs and the crowd didn't respond, we dropped it right away. If it's not any fun for the crowd, it's not fun for the band, at least in my experience of playing live music. I'm almost sure it's like that with most musicians. The crowd energy is where you get yours from a lot of times, it works the other way around too. Opps, I almost forgot the topic of this thread.........I frickin love Middletown dreams, Grand design is another favorite of mine from that CD.
  16. I don't know any by name. I guess they all are good in their own little way.
  17. I'm just wondering which movie it is that you don't mind watching over and over. Personally, if I like a movie, I will watch it 2 times. Maybe more sometimes if I see it on years later. But I notice a lot of people watch movies up to 20 or more times. I'm just wondering which movie it is that you don't ever get sick of. For me, I can watch any of the Austin Powers movies multiple times and it's still funny to me.
