  1. First listen - "Interesting! I like this. Not what I was expecting, but still good." Second listen - "Ooh. I really like this. Let's put the volume up a few notches." Third listen - I found myself playing flailing air drums to a new Rush track for the first time in years.
  2. QUOTE (MMCXII @ Nov 24 2011, 11:40 AM)Good call on Time and motion! Used to be my favorite song for quite a while and lyrically still one of my favs Absolutely love that track, aside from the fact that I can't help mishearing Ged and thinking he's singing about snails. "Fill them up with fresh escargot.." I was a bit disappointed with the album when it came out, but I've since learned to like it a lot. I even rather like 'Dog Years'! Only thing I really still can't stand is the chorus to 'Virtuality', I physically cringe when I hear the lyrics. Great music though.

    Lifeson Rants

I'm a big fan of the Lifeson rant. I also think I may have even discovered Alex's (rather obscure) inspiration for them - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjKAyOf0w_o&feature=related From about 2:43 to 4:00, complete with ranting - Spookily similar if he hadn't heard that beforehand.
  4. Also no longer a Rush virgin after last night! Stupendous gig. Shame people didn't get a little more into it at times, but the lads were on absolutely top form.
  5. If you'll forgive the momentary lapse into the usage of spurious internet acronyms - Kate Bush FTW! I've been a fan of hers for about 18 years now, have everything she's done, and think she's just awesome. Personal favourite album of hers? Lionheart. Don't know why, it just takes me to a strange place whenever I listen to it. Kate herself hates it, apparently.

    Old Boy

I remember first watching it about three years ago. I was over at a friend's place with a couple of other people, we were generally chilling out , having a beer and wanted to watch a DVD. One of us wandered off to the DVD rental place and came back with Old Boy, saying that it had been recommended by the guy behind the counter. None of us had heard of it, so we went into the watching experience completely fresh. Cue a couple of hours of us all staring at the TV in utter confusion and trying to work out if that was the most amazing film we had ever seen, or just plain bizarre! We eventually decided on the former, and most of us subsequently went out and bought the DVD! An immensely moving and challenging film, which never seems to fail to get a strong reaction from people who watch it!

    Noob!

Hey! Thought I'd sign up here for some random Rush related ramblimg! (Apologies if this is in the wrong place, couldn't find a dedicated 'ohmygawdi'msonooooo!!!1!' section ) I'm Steve, 32, and I've apparently been a fan of Rush since I was 2, when my brother (15 years older than me) sat me down in his room, cranked up his vinyl copy of 2112, and proceeded to play loud Rush to me every day for most of my childhood, telling me that they were the greatest band in the world. Little did I know that all these years later, I'd be playing guitar in a rock trio with a singing bass player - spooky how things turn out! So, ummm... Hi!
