  1. We are strangers to each other, each one's life a novel no one else has read. That's where opinions originate. I dont agree with this at all. Another case of projecting your feelings into him. no, it's a case of me giving my opinion of the way he presents himself in his writings. Yes. Your subjective opinion. I think that's the definition of "opinion", DD Yes a pretty narrow version of it sure. If he feels that way I'm not in a position to stop him. I Just people to be honest with themselves. what's a broader version of opinion? and who is being dishonest with themselves? i find your statements to be puzzling. Fair enough. I am just challenging peoples opinions here. If thats the way you feel about him who am I to change your mind. Just lets make sure the opinon is based on factual evidence and not just ad hominem attacks. i said that neil presents an unlikeable person in his books and his blog. that is my opinion of neil based on what he writes about himself in his own words. i'm not sure if you consider that factual evidence or not.

  6. neil presents a highly unlikeable persona in his books and on his blog. doesn't stop me from loving his work with RUSH.
  7. you're assuming that chuck is being honest
  8. he doesn't owe anyone anything, but no one owes him anything either. all's fair in love, war and on the internet!
  9. A bunch of people exploring and reconciling their differences, creating understanding and diminishing vitriol? and then making up!
  10. lovers quarrel i think
  11. So the book won`t be about touring.... :D it'll probably be like roadshow, a few little bits about the tour, lots of windbagging about riding a motorcycle and drinking the macallan, some false modesty, and some stories about how much humanity sucks and how burdensom it is to be neil peart. oh and some stuff about how he and mosbach aren't gay.
  12. Oh for goodness sake you are such an idiot about Neil. He has said nothing wrong. This is his life and he means well. He means well? Yes, whatever is WELL for Neil is what his life has been for quite some time now. He used his "affliction" to manipulate the whole organization into conforming to his wants/needs/desires. Regarding the end, he said nothing wrong because he essentially said NOTHING. A more compassionate and understanding person wouldn't have dictated in a my-way-or-the-highway manner, the details of their final tour, and refusing ANY compromise. A more caring person would have at least had the decency to definitively tell the "guys at work" what his actual post-tour plans were. I'm sure his reasoning was "affliction" related, in that if fans/media knew it was the final tour, there would have been MUCH more attention on him. Instead, he only thought of his feelings and hung Geddy & Alex out to dry. Additionally, I've been riding motorcycles for over 45 years and have NEVER gone down on the street. The patch that he describes as 5' wide and 25' long would be VERY hard to not see. On curves, you never outride your line of site. Which means, when cornering, you look ahead and never go faster than the amount of time it would take you to stop if you see an obstacle in your way. That way you have plenty of time to react. It's easy to Monday morning QB when it comes to bike accidents, but in a single bike accident, the responsibility lies solely with the rider. Yes, he was lucky not to have been hurt, but his riding skills that day were definitely lacking. He makes a lot of presumptions about when the patch was done, and that there must not have been any motorcycle riders on the crew. But the fact remains, it wasn't anyone else's fault. These are just the things that are said by riders who refuse to accept responsibility for their own actions. "If you love motorcycling enough, and you do it enough, it's going to kill you" BTW, this is the biggest load of crap in the cycle world! I know plenty of people who have ridden their whole lives and never gone down. The mysterious FOH Lights surfaces again. Does he really have any connection to the Rush organization? If so, what caused him to be so bitter and vent his frustrations on a message board? Did Neil piss in his Cocoa Puffs? maybe he's fraroc's dad
  13. luckily it doesn't take a winning personality to be a great drummer
  14. :hi: You agree as well? Or you don't love Losing It haha?! i loathe losing it.
  15. and someone's fat aunt's covers album was probably better than feedback!
  16. the music will live forever, that's how it works. ergo LONG LIVE ROCK!
  17. shit :( r.i.p you crazy bastard
  18. I'm guessing the guy took a random quote from the album liner notes, without particularly caring whether it was actually played or not. The overall tone of the review suggests that he wasn't paying close attention to detail. yeah got to be, panacea and screaming really don't go together at all!
  19. why would geddy have been "screaming" the lyrics to panacea?!?
  20. it's a great show, really involving! sometimes painful to watch in the grand tradition of a show like breaking bad where you can hardly stand it but you NEED to know what happens next, and the moral complexity is unprecedented in a mainstream tv show.
  21. Same. Two pop artists I think are wonderful. Mostly as performers. Although Beyoncé's debut Dangerously In Love is one of my all time favourite albums. I'm not sure you fully understand the meaning of 'favourite' as you over use it and variations of it all the time. I don't see why my list of precious albums has to be restricted to a small number. And countless times I have said Dangerously In Love is a top twenty album for me. Frequently listed it many times. Same. Two pop artists I think are wonderful. Mostly as performers. The definition of favourite is "preferred to all others of the same kind." Mind you, I've no idea what the children's dictionary definition is. You always have to be rude. I never have an issue answering anything you ask, so not sure why you had to bring up "children's dictionary". But never mind. Moving on... I do agree I use the term "favourite" a lot more than I perhaps should. But I am also passionate about a lot of music. I also choose not to rag on about all the stuff I do not like so more often than not all you see is me praising stuff. Does it never occur to you that by posting this childish nonsense you are the one being rude and disrespectful? who is he being rude and disrespectful to? i could see annoying, but rude and disrespectful seems a bit harsh!
  22. If Rush gets a mention, I don't suspect it'll be a positive one seeing as prog acts like Yes, Jethro Tull, and ELP are absolutely skewered as anti-rock'n'roll. This is a show that I should absolutely love...it has all of the ingredients there for me. But I have found it to be an extreme chore to get through the first 3 hours of the series. I'm sticking with it in the hopes that a character or plot element I actually care about will be presented. same here, we didn't even get all the way through the pilot. might try to watch a few more episodes in the hope it will get better, but i'm skeptical. i doubt that rush will get even a negative mention, i don't think they're important enough one way or the other to the establishment that is being portrayed in the series.
