  1. Why am I not surprised? Whaaaaaaaaa?? Tony is not surprised because Tony knows everything Just ask him, and he'll tell you In all seriousness, this is why a sub forum would be good .. Permanent Rush cannot not even make one supportive comment without someone old enough to be her grandfather responding with sarcasm and condescension .. A sub forum would be a place for people who can relate, understand and be supportive so true! geez, people, who would it hurt to have a subforum for the young'uns? as for the lgbtqrstuvwxyz, maybe that could be a thread in a young'uns subforum instead of a whole subforum for itself. I don't know who you're counting as being against that subforum because from what I've seen I can count maybe just 1 or 2 people. Almost all are in the camps of"Let's make that thread" or "Is there enough interest for an entire subforum?" thanks for the clarification http://www.diablo944.co.uk/FORUM_POLICE.jpg Bite me. Almost nobody is opposed to it but your sentence makes it sound otherwise your defense of the poor little misunderstood forum is so touching What the hell are you babbling about? I've defended no one. I was trying to explain something that you apparently just don't seem to understand. Really, what are you reading? But okay, let's go your way: You're correct. Everybody is against a new subforum. It's obvious in every post. now i understand how trolls are born!

  5. i guess i know what my wife is getting for christmas next year
  6. amazing legacy and quite a character too.
  7. You make a great point Toymaker But as you point out, suffering and loss is universal .. It is one thing to feel animosity or anger towards other human beings, but another thing altogether to write it in a book .. Loss and the gut wrenching realities in life can take people into some unpleasant places, but it is up to that person to make the decision which way is out .. Do I resent and despise others, or do I find the bond and spark we all share - and see life and all living things as they are - precious and to be respected .. Neil has professed that over and over in his lyrics We all say shit we don't mean and we all have our boiling point .. As I mentioned, Neil has played a big role in a very happy and positive place in my life .. but to see him come across as he has, I have lost some respect for him .. What he wrote was cowardly, and if picking on people for being overweight or typically American or being less educated is his way of coping with loss - instead of doing something positive like volunteer work or at least sympathizing with the hell that life can be for all people - then I'm not going to have a whole lot of respect for him as a man People put him up on a pedestal because he's famous and they can identify with some of the lyrics he has written. But he is as human as the rest of us and with the same issues. Conversely, because of who he is and his contributions to a rock band, fans will cut him a lot more slack when he says something demeaning, condescending or elitist .. Relate some of the stories about how he treats people he doesn't even know and what he says in his book in an anonymous fashion - without knowing who said it - and I would think a lot of the people who feel it is just Neil being shy would think "What an ass" HAHAHA! I love being that condescending Hard Core Rush Fan Prick then. I have my 2112 stripes to prove it. I have the right. I love making fun of Neil, but at the end of the day he will always be my number one. Neil rules man. Oh and "The Color Of Right" is a piece of shit. Hey! I've earned my place in Rush Fandom. I literally paid for Neil's bikes. Alex's golf clubs and Geddy's autographed baseball collection. I've paid my dues man, and RUSH has never let me down live. They are the greatest band that will ever be on the face of the earth to me. Right? Like Entre said last night. I am fearless on here. I had thin skin. But know to quote a great RUN DMC album and their last epic release, my skin is "TOUGHER THAN LEATHER!" I honesty don't care what many of you think about me. I used to and it hurt. But over the years I was able to figure out who my real friends were on here in this fuckingg one dimensional communication white box cyber land. Through all of the ups and downs on here I have managed to survive and thrive. I will never change. I will just try to take it down to a 5 if some asshole on here ever tries to challenge me. Remember. I will NEVER provoke or start drama. However if someone ever fuckks me then I will "GO FOR THE THROAT!" LOL! LOVE, Y&T RUSH RULES! THiS FORUM IS GOOD! No one is perfect. God I love Neil. That's ironic right? LOL I am FEARLESS. Neil is "FAITHLESS" Earl, my post was about Neil, not you when you think a message board is your shrink, everything is about you!
  8. I bet he's probably spent about a month at home. I am sure Carrie knew going in exactly what she was getting. Yeah, a shitload of money. god you people are cynical :rfl:
  9. I completely agree. And its one thing to tell the fans that way. Completely different thing to tell your bandmates that way, and judging by Geddy's reaction in the press, that was how he heard that it really was a final decision. Well, I don't think Geddy read Neil's latest book then, because it was obvious to me when I read the book that Neil was finished with touring. He also implied he wouldn't be writing any more books which I think is a real shame, because he's an excellent writer. On the other hand, I can't really remember which happened first - the release of the book, or Geddy's comments. really? after 40 years, geddy should have to read neil's book to find out what's going on with his band?
  10. i don't know about women in general, but my wife hates stubble and likes for me to have a vandyke. the big nono for her is a mustache without a beard or a beard without a mustache. also she hates soul patches but she's obviously a hypocrite because she loves geddy!
  11. it's not so much too many tours as too many recordings. at the actual gigs, everyone i saw was enjoying every minute of it and saying how great the band sounded. at the gigs you don't hear all the flaws and even if you do, they blip right by you lost in the excitement and the wonder of the energy. still though i'm glad for the recordings because even though geddy doesn't sound very good on some of the songs, on others he sounds pretty f***ing fantastic, and the playing was out of this world. and i'm glad for the tours because those gigs were incredible, some of the best times i've had in the last 10 years.
  12. she had a great voice but boy did i hate her material
  13. great book! i hope the movie does it justice.
  14. i understand why some people get tired of fighting and just want the pain to stop. but at the same time i do think that suicide is a selfish choice. it's an absolutely horrible way to lose someone you love, you never stop feeling personally bad about it even when you know with your mind that it isn't your fault and you couldn't have stopped them. for a person in pain to decide they want to relieve their pain more than they want to spare their loved ones is a valid enough choice, who am i to say it isn't, but i have way more respect for people who don't give up. suicide is not okay.
  15. That was easier to do back in the day with live albums, but since live DVDs are the rave now, bouncing from show to show, where their clothes are going to be different, would make it look odd and not really like a live concert (more like a snapshot of the tour with performances spread out). Well, they could coordinate that if continuity was their goal...they often wear the same series of things (t-shirts n' such) throughout the tour. But you have a point. Still, it'd be another thing to factor in, that if they use different nights in the same dvd, they might draw more people into buying it since it's possible that 'their' night might be included in the collection of songs featured (particularly if they're labeled by location), instead of it all being from one venue. And with multiple nights to choose from they stand the chance of putting out a dvd with a higher level of sound (voice, mix production) quality. I mean, this is all water under the bridge now that they're retired. But you'd think, with so many live concert dvds released over the last 20 or so odd years, that different formats would've been considered. Just my opinion, of course. I am unlikely to get as excited over a concert filmed solely in Cleveland than, say, Seattle...not that that ever happened. Still, it would've been a nice option, if even just for one song. I hear what you are saying, but that would get awfully expensive professionally recording that many shows on a tour. Doing it for just one is a lot more practical from the band's point of view. it's not that expensive to do a decent sound recording.
  16. what they needed to do was use the video from only one night but record several and pick the best ones. it's easy to match music from several shows to video from one and then the visual continuity isn't an issue. also, i don't think they sound all that great on the 1997 stuff on from the R40 box. I like all the shows this century way better than that.
  17. only if they are songwriters, non songwriting performers don't get any share of publishing rights.
  18. i wonder if gedsjeans is disappointed that no one picked up on the tragedy baiting and asked her why she's disposing of her life savings or what she means about her baseball getting lost to the void in the upcoming days.
  19. their records sound great but most of their songs are boring as shit.
  20. He did this? Certainly sounds like something he would do. Sad but true. But I honestly hope it's not! Feels like I've read of this before. Whether it was a hypothetical or an actual happening I'm unsure but it does sound familiar. If you find someone's wallet, and don't return it in exactly the condition you found it, you're a dirtbag. http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?/topic/100994-what-would-you-have-done/page__st__40&do=findComment&comment=4191823
