  1. QUOTE (Unattractive Truth @ Jun 14 2012, 03:58 PM) In N Out is definitely NOT the best burger in the West. Not even close. (That honor goes to Tommy's). They do have good shakes though, so I'll give Neil that one. imo that honor goes to ferg burger, queenstown, new zealand
  2. QUOTE (go2wrk@95974 @ Jun 14 2012, 04:30 PM) Life is too short to be worried about trivial matters, compared to what is really happening around the world, that 95% of earth's population are completely oblivious/ unaware of....we need to look at the big picture, people... not the cover art, and what's recorded within...There are people LITERALLY DIEING around the globe, because they are seriously un-informed... Just an observation. so you are saying that everyone who doesn't talk about that in a forum that is entitled to discussions about a certain album is ignorant?

well i think the beginning is just quieter because it's the intro. but apart from that, the sound of the garden is quiet dynamic: the verses are quieter than the choruses and after the bridge it definetly gets louder when the solo begins and the whole band kicks in. the anarchist: i don't think that the guitars are louder in the intro, i think the voice in the verse just distracts you from the instruments. well but thats just how i see it and to be honest, i am definetly no expert on that subject^^ apologies for my bad english, i am no native speaker.
  4. QUOTE (Alchemical @ Jun 13 2012, 10:21 PM) You know you've stumbled upon a circlejerk online when one cannot even express his opinion that may differ from the norm without being lambasted as a dissenter (Read: Troll), or not a "real" RUSH fan. Look, we all dig RUSH, that's why we're here right? But, believe it or not, some of us on here DON'T like the album, and what's so wrong with that? Not everyone is bound to orgasm over CA. Me personally? I dig it but I'm not completely blown away. I've given it six listens and it's adequate, even very good, but it's not a masterpiece in my opinion. IN. MY. OPINION. Got that? I'm just sick of the diminutive minority on here who have legit reason to dislike the album getting shut down by boisterous fanboyism. Let people hold their opinions, kay? I don't see how it is personally affecting you. i kind of agree. if the expression 'in my opinion' was used more often, there would definitly be less insulting posts, more interesting discussions and more respect for other peoples' oppinions. but somehow many people tend to say 'it is like this or that' instead of 'in my opinion' or 'for me it seems to be like...whatever'. I mean it's a HUGE difference if you say the album IS good/bad or if you say I like it/don't like it because......

QUOTE (MarKo @ Jun 14 2012, 11:40 AM) Been listening to the CD in the car for a week or so now and I'm definitely in the "it's muddy" corner... Been turning it up and down all the time in between sections... However, I ripped it into Itunes and popped it onto my iPod and that seems to have improved things as far as "too loud" and losing the vocals goes... The bass has also been pushed back a little... Obviously it has reduced the overall quality but that's what I'll be listening to CA on for the forseeable.... Shouldn't have to do this though..... And yes.....we should complain if we're not happy, otherwise nothing will change. I pay a lot of money to support my favourite band.... Been turning it up and down all the time in between sections... Well that sounds more like it's a pretty dynamic record than a muddy one..

QUOTE (Terrapin @ Jun 12 2012, 07:34 PM) QUOTE (ak2112 @ Jun 13 2012, 12:13 AM) Agreed. I just do not understand how such a sonic abortion could have been allowed to happen again. Did the band learn nothing from VT? I just dont think they care, which is sad. Let Steven Wilson master it and it'll sound fantastic! Very well put. One would think that the mistakes of VP should have been a lessoned learned. Perhaps, the boys are thinking more in terms of golf, wine, prose, baseball these days? Fact is, the album sounds dreadful,. Furthermore, I don't think Nick R is the right man for the job. He may get the boys all excited and "conduct" Neil with his comedy drumstick, say funny things like "Boughze" but it isn't helping the overall sound! The mastering process is a fine art and arguably, the most important aspect as regards to the overall album release. IMHO the boys have seriously taken their eyes off the ball with this one... i thought nick r didn't have anything to do with the mastering? he was the producer, wasn't he?
