  1. QUOTE (how it ought to be @ Oct 9 2011, 01:33 PM)Led Zepplin July 20, 1977 Tempe, AZ US A.S.U. Activities Center Arena Setlist: The Song Remains The Same, (The Rover intro) Sick Again, Nobody's Fault But Mine, Over the Hills and Far Away, Since I've Been Loving You, No Quarter, Ten Years Gone, Battle of Evermore, Going to California, Black Country Woman, Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, Trampled Underfoot, Black Mountainside ~ Kashmir, Jimmy Page solo, Achilles Last Stand, Stairway to Heaven. How many ways can I say they sucked? From Bonham being incoherent, to Paige being too high to play, Robert trying to hit notes he no longer could, and poor John trying to hold them together. Wow. What a shame. For me, Poison in about 87. Spectacularly awful. Also, an honourable (dishonourable) mention to Pennywise.
  2. Thanks for this thread. It reminded me that I was going to buy their DVD 'Live at Last' about 2 years ago but never did. Will add that to the next order from Amazon.
  3. Vicarious. + their cover of No Quarter is awesome.
  4. QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Jul 15 2011, 09:34 AM) Joe Satriani - TOMORROW!! So stoked about it. Nice. Post a review.
  5. Probably Primus, but Tower of Power is my 'bay area' band.
  6. Carl: Way to play the bosses head like a bongo drum Homer! Lenny: Hey, he's getting a pretty good sound outta that guy. http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu223/shiftydog/tumblr_l7pzg9moNx1qdoghio1_500.png
  7. QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Jul 13 2011, 10:58 PM)QUOTE (Presto_a RUSH fan_06-08-90 @ Dec 8 2010, 05:47 AM) I watched the 1st season of 'Sons of Anarchy' and thought it was decent. But each season has gotten better and better. I just finished season 3 last night and what an awesome season finale. I am really glad they renewed this for a 4th season. Anyone else like it? Sons Of Anarchy renewed for season 4 Season 3's finale is one of the best shows I've ever seen. That closing 20 minutes I've probably watched 4 times. Agree. I didn't think it was the best season, but it was a cracker of an ending. Bring on season 4.
  8. QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Jun 10 2011, 11:34 AM)Last night I saw Deep Purple for free. Great show. Ernie and the Automatics opened and they were very good. Barry Goodreau and Sib Hashian of Boston are members so after doing a bunch of great originals, they played a medley of Boston songs from the first album which was cool. Then Deep Purple came out. They had members of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra playing but they didn't really do much and when they did play, they were barely audible. My seat was about 20 rows back, but I stood right near the stage for most of the show, with about 4 people in front of me. The set list was very good. Steve Morse really stole the show. Even though he's not Richtie Blackmore, he is the greatest live guitarist I've ever seen. Roger Glover was excellent and sounded great. Ian Paice is a monster on drums. One of the most underrated drummer ever. Ian Gillan sounded decent. I'm not sure if it was the venue or his age but his voice sounded much different live, but he still was able to belt out the songs. Don Airey is a decent keyboardist but I'd much rather of had Jon Lord there. All the members, especially Morse and Glover, looked like they were having a great time and they were full of energy. This show was one of my favorite concerts ever. Once I get my laptop back I'll post some pictures. Steve Morse is probably my fav guitarist. Seen him live heaps with his solo band and Purple, but sadly, never with the Dixie Dregs. I saw Purple last year and it was a great show. No gimics, no great light show, just high energy awesome music played with passion and enjoyment. Fantastic concert. I basically was leaning on the stage all night, so got some nice photo's. http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu223/shiftydog/7.jpg http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu223/shiftydog/3.jpg http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu223/shiftydog/2.jpg http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu223/shiftydog/5.jpg
  9. QUOTE (MCM @ Jun 11 2011, 01:55 PM)Next up - Rush in VEGAS!!! July - U2 August - Journey (w/ Foreigner & Night Ranger) September - Styx I wish BCC were doing some dates on this end of the country; so far it looks like they are only doing west coast dates. Nice. Very jealous. Well, except for U2 Enjoy. Post some reviews and pics.
  10. QUOTE (Rushman14 @ May 6 2011, 02:15 AM)The Good The Bad & The Ugly is pretty much the greatest film ever made. Hard to top that one. To pick a newby, Unforgiven is hard to beat. FMD, so many classics.
  11. Seeing JB next sat in a great little venue in Brisbane. Anyone seen this tour? What can I expect?
  12. It's a great album. I still play Lido Shuffle quite regularly. Some nice playing on the album. Jeff Porcaro is fantastic, but then again, he generally was on anything he played on.
  13. Off to see Herbie Hancock tonight. Never seen him before so looking forward to it. Next on the list is Joe Bonamassa, in mid May.
  14. I've been playing 'Up Close' a lot lately. Great album. I definitely need to check out more of his earlier stuff.
  15. QUOTE (priest_of_syrinx @ Apr 11 2011, 06:21 AM)Anyone else listen to this delicious proggy funk-fusion group? It smacks a little of Primus, but without the bizarre vocals or repetitiveness. Definitely more accomplished musicians (not to diss Primus or anything; I love them.) Vinnie Smile In A Wave Cult of the Internal Sun Great band. Vinnie is an awesome song. Are they still together? You should check out their DVD, if you haven't already. They always reminded me of an 'out there' version of Scatterbrain, but Primus is probably a better comparison. Great muso's. Jojo Mayer and Gene Lake are both incredible drummers.
