  1. Man, this album must be one of the most devisive for TRF.
  2. QUOTE (Saint NIck @ Oct 9 2008, 05:57 AM)Anybody like this one? I remember when I would see the trailer-preview on late night tv back a whole bunch of years ago; I would see this guy running through the snow with an axe and hear the voice over, "...Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece of modern horror...". And it was, still is and always will be a classic. Jack Nicholson is top notch and Shelley Duvall played her role perfectly. There's only one part that I skip over; just over the 2 hour mark...you may know the scene. My first DVD and, next to Snakes & Arrows, probably amongst my first Blu-Ray. Yup, never tire of it. Absolute classic. DVD has been on the backburner for a while. Thanks for reminding me
  3. QUOTE (Marathonist @ Oct 9 2008, 02:03 PM)More Than This - Roxy Music That whole album is sublime. Excellent choice
  4. QUOTE (Territorial_Game @ Oct 8 2008, 11:23 AM)I did a search and didn't find a topic like this, but I'm kind of surprised nobody started this kind of thread. Anyway, I'm curious to know what songs really get to y'all emotionally? For instance, I was listening to "She's Everything" by Brad Paisley earlier today and I tell ya, it put a lump in my throat. So I figured I'd see what songs really get to y'all. For me, it's: She's Everything by Brad Paisley Oklahoma Breakdown by Stoney LaRue Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show Follow You Follow Me by Genesis Hearts Are Breaking Across Texas by Aaron Watson So what gets you? Excellent thread idea TG As much as I hate Genesis (at least post-PG), Follow You Follow Me is undoubtedly a GEM of a track For warm fuzzies guaranteed to melt me every time, I'll shoot for this quartet for starters inpo: Rhiannon - Fleetwood Mac Year of the Cat - Al Stewart Mahogany - Diana Ross If You Leave Me Now - Chicago Dont ask me why, they just do, Ive stopped asking myself this perplexing question long ago. All I can put it down to is a nostalgic thing, hearing them so much as a kid during a certain time period when everything was superfine
  5. Force Ten. But then it could easily be Time Stand Still or Mission on another day. Slim pickings on HYF really
  6. QUOTE (thesweetscience @ Sep 23 2008, 10:03 AM)One thing I will say for Bear is that he will eat some gross shit. No shit!! Always a delight to see what new tasties hes gonna down Totally hooked on Bear, regardless of some of the neg commentries on his earlier episodes. Cant say Ive seen much of the other guy here, so I cant really vote. Anyways, up to the Panama experience at the mo. Essential viewing

QUOTE (Lamneth08 @ Sep 18 2008, 11:16 AM)I forgot how great this was Any fans? The characters come across as so believable ...no sugar coating the horrors of what must have gone on. I saw it at the cinema and it had some cred at the time but that was then. Probably some good scenes in there still, havent seen it for ages.
  8. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Sep 18 2008, 09:17 AM)QUOTE (MULTIPLIED REACTION @ Sep 17 2008, 04:56 PM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Sep 17 2008, 04:49 PM) Jack, you pre-ordered this, right? He has the master copy. SATC party at my house next week, guys! Eeeek, party on Jack
  9. Please say the single is the weakest track
  10. QUOTE (King Troll @ Sep 2 2008, 02:07 AM)Father Ted - Father Ted Father Dougal - Father Ted Totally!! Class
  11. Wow, never seen this one before!! Can't we make it 20? Dr Who (Tom Baker) George Castanza (Seinfeld) Kramer (Seinfeld) Eric Cartman (South Park) Mr Garrison (South Park) Norm Peterson (Cheers) Chris Stevens (Northern Exposure) Joel Fleishman (Northern Exposure) Al Bundy (Married with Children) Hawkeye Pierce (MASH) Sherman Potter (MASH) Charles Winchester (MASH) Radar (MASH) Henry Blake (MASH) Alexis (Dynasty) Godfrey (Dad's Army) Mainwaring (Dad's Army) Reggie Perrin (Fall and Rise of RP) Victor Meldew (One Foot in Grave) Del Trotter (Only Fools and Horses) That should do it for now, so much more though
  12. Im not really a big reggae but adore the Marley stuff, the 4 disc Songs of Freedom set is essential if you are a Bob fan. Theres some fricken amazing youtube floating around as well Toke it up
  13. The hardest choice I will ever have to make, in the end I opted for TS, even though its probably the one thats been thrashed the most. It just contains everything that is so perfect about Rush to me
  14. For an album that is the followup to the masterpiece that is MP, it suprisingly holds few rewards for me, anyways...Subdivisions by a landslide, followed by a tie between The Weapon and The Analog Kid. The rest I could do without.
  15. Impossible to choose, they all had some amazing episodes. Did anyone see the reunion shown in '02?
  16. Genius, the only one that could play Darko, great casting. Jarhead I've still yet to see, heard nothing but good reports.
  17. For a fairly weak album Bravado is total perfection, understated with a great production (the DS version seriously kicks as well). Dreamline is so nipping at the heels though.
  18. QUOTE (TheMeek @ Jun 24 2008, 06:20 PM)QUOTE (Steevo @ Jun 21 2008, 05:07 PM) Saw him once, pretty good. The prog piece was always his best. In a brit comedy called Black Books too which is okish. Not sure how it would translate to the US. He's coming down later this year but can't really afford it this time OK-ish??? It's probably the most clever and funny sitcom on television! Though, it's actually my favorite after Spaced. Bill Bailey and Dylan Moran are my favorite standups. The hell wtih Eddie Izzard. Yeah, I never quite got it, did give it a few goes. As far as fairly mod brit stuff Id go for Father Ted (Ardal O'Hanlan is amazing as a comic) and The League of Gentlemen (snagging the dvd set one of these days). Older brit comedy is quite a longer list
  19. K, I'm in shock. Knew he had heart probs for a while, still though. Major loss, gonna play one of his best tonight in remembrance. Damn
  20. Holy crap thats some god-damn gnarly action right there Larks. Think you're lucky to be still alive dude. Its not so cool to be protective-free when the result is being all busted up lying in hospital is it. Geeez!! Yeah, I had to let my last deck go for a third of what I paid and it was still in pretty good cond (Jaya Bonderov, pro set up). Very old school footage of him here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jF3j-_o8eFU Late 80s had a Santa Cruz Kendall as well, which they've re-released, very similar to these graphics. http://www.skatesonhaight.com/Santa-Cruz-J...-p/scdaajkg.htm Here he is, cuttin it up in indy, very roots, very oldschool, but it still has a great vibe, Wheels of Fire clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeoo5I6wdw0 While I'm at it I'll throw in my skate hero/legend/god as well. A fine example on Streets of Fire. To even have half that talent. Astounding. To my ears Rush can make an amazing skate soundtrack as well
  21. Yeah, we have a thriving comedy scene now it seems. The bigger acts are starting to make their way down more, Chris Rock, Lenny Henry etc. Many worth checking out.

  23. Totally. Its one of the few sports I will make time for on television. Made to look easy, in reality, not quite so. While I escaped any serious injuries I felt one wasnt too far away. I've rollerskated in my youth, that was pretty easy, got to even speed skate for a bit. I have iceskated a few times, its ok, not too difficult, but never got into the rollerblade craze.
  24. QUOTE (Mustard Death @ May 21 2008, 07:31 AM)Lords of Dogtown Awesome movie!! What did you think?
