  1. QUOTE (Snowdog @ Aug 29 2004, 08:02 AM) Hey, I loved the Pink Panther when I was a kid. I've looked everywhere for a DVD set and can't find one. Does anyone know if this exists? Any help is appreciated. Are you referring to the Clouseau movies or the cartoon series?
  2. Thanks for watching the store while I was on my forced hiatus, BSG. I'll take it from here.
  3. You know, the Irish would have conquered the world had whiskey never been invented..... (And yes, I'm part Irish.)
  4. QUOTE (Sassafras @ Aug 27 2004, 05:28 PM) QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Aug 26 2004, 09:18 PM)'All we've been through, for nothing but an idea! Something you cannot taste, smell, or feel; without substance, life, or memory.' Cleopatra possibly? (Taylor/Burton) No, sorry.
  5. QUOTE (BSG @ Aug 26 2004, 10:56 PM) QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Aug 26 2004, 10:18 PM) This movie was made before 1980. Next quote: 'All we've been through, for nothing but an idea! Something you cannot taste, smell, or feel; without substance, life, or memory.' Spartacus? Nope.

  7. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Aug 25 2004, 10:12 AM) Next Quote: 'I shall not be wounded and not return it in kind! I'm done with feeble hoping! I demand a man's vengeance!' You folks want a hint or another quote from the movie?
  8. Is this the movie quote game thread or the quote from the movie 'Airplane' thread? (I crack myself up.)
  9. QUOTE (BSG @ Aug 26 2004, 11:23 AM) QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Aug 25 2004, 10:12 AM) Next Quote: 'I shall not be wounded and not return it in kind! I'm done with feeble hoping! I demand a man's vengeance!' Gladiator (I don't get out much, ya know.) "Son, do you like movies about gladiators?" Swing and a miss.
  10. 'Double Agent', cause its so 'bizarro-cool'. One of their biggest departures since 'Red Lenses'.
  11. 'Time Stand Still'. It's my wife's favorite Rush song, so that makes it special. (Ain't I sappy?)
  12. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Aug 25 2004, 01:40 PM) A TV (it DOES have a screen but I haven't measured it, come on! How anal can you be? ) You don't have to measure your screen! It's printed on the front of the instruction manual. All a man has to do is glance at it briefly and it is forever seared in his memory (til he gets a new tv). Do not mock the manly realm of electronics obsession! *Sigh*. Women...
  13. QUOTE (BSG @ Aug 25 2004, 01:24 PM) QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Aug 25 2004, 10:12 AM) Next Quote: 'I shall not be wounded and not return it in kind! I'm done with feeble hoping! I demand a man's vengeance!' Can we puh-leeze get back on track? (Youze guys! ) Umm............ a movie about vengeance, slightly literate, but the language not dated enough to be Shakespearean...... "Conan The Destroyer" (Yes, that's my guess.) Nope, not 'Conan'. (Has anyone else noticed that the sound on the 'Conan' DVD is in mono? Somebody really dropped the ball.)
  14. I've been thinking about this for a while. I remember Mr. Binary mentioning something on another board about component hookups (and I'm still waiting for him to elaborate on it [no pressure]) and thought that the whole home theater realm was ripe for discussion. So go ahead and brag about your setup, ask questions, debate the merits of progressive scan dvd players, anamorphic widescreen vs. full-frame, or anything your heart desires. I'll start. Forgive me for boasting, but guys love to do it. My setup: 42" Gateway plasma HD-capable monitor. Pioneer progressive scan dvd player DTS and Dolby capable. JVC RX-6020V Receiver DTS/Dolby. Bose Acoustimass AM-500 speakers (My mother-in-law owed us money, she won the speakers in a raffle, we made a deal.) Comcast digital cable with (so far) 8 channels in HD. Next? Come on, don't be shy!
  15. QUOTE (RushRevisited @ Aug 25 2004, 09:48 AM) QUOTE (BSG @ Aug 25 2004, 10:44 AM) QUOTE (RushRevisited @ Aug 25 2004, 09:32 AM) Man, I suck at this game - need to get out more... Now if you said "The new phone book is here! The new phone book is here!" I may get that one LOL (The Jerk, one of my all time favorite no-brainer movies) I'm picking out a thermos for you. A thermos for you!! not an ordinary thermos for you, but the very best thermos you can buy, with stripes and a cup that fits right in! LOL (SOrry Jack, not hijacking the thread ) That's OK, it's funny. I always laugh when I think of 'The Jerk'. 'You mean I'm gonna be this color for the rest of my life?!'
  16. QUOTE (BSG @ Aug 25 2004, 09:25 AM) QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Aug 25 2004, 09:12 AM) Next Quote: 'I shall not be wounded and not return it in kind! I'm done with feeble hoping! I demand a man's vengeance!' Braveheart? (No googling) Nope.

  18. QUOTE (BSG @ Aug 24 2004, 10:59 PM) All day long I listen to people give me excuses why they can't work. "My back hurts." "My legs ache." "I'm only four!!" 'Scrooged'. And the whole 'Googling' thing was just a joke.
  19. If BSG doesn't post a quote soon he's gonna lose his turn!
  20. QUOTE (pixey @ Aug 24 2004, 08:33 PM) HEY! No Googling! I dont Google and neither should you! You never know what you are going to get when you google like that! Everybody googles! Those who deny it are the ones who actually do it the most...
  21. QUOTE (BSG @ Aug 24 2004, 08:04 PM) QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Aug 24 2004, 12:51 PM) Next quote: 'Make the best of what we offer you, and you will suffer less than you deserve.' Papillon Took you long enough to get around to googling it! Go.
  22. 'A Farewell To Kings'. So very relevant and timeless.
