  1. I think we need to start a petition to "Keep them OUT" of the RRHOF. We can call it KEEPRUSHOUT. Because it's only a matter of time, before the goons over there, give in to public pressure and nominate Rush. I've seen the list and I don't want my favorite band associated with some (most) of those musicians.
  2. Not a song that translates well live...IMO. I'd much rather hear Afterimage.
  3. QUOTE (pdurbin22 @ Jul 24 2012, 06:31 AM) Okay, I put a lot of thought into this. Some is logic based on recent tour themes and set lists, some is wishful thinking, but nothing is unrealistic. Here we go! * - denotes strings; my guess is that they'll be reserved for the 2nd set, and that they'll feature on all the CA songs that used them as well as some other gems SET 1 [Hilarious Intro Video) 1. YYZ 2. Analog Kid 3. The Enemy Within 4. Cut To The Chase / Vapor Trails (alternating) 5. Tom Sawyer [Clockwork Angels-Themed Video] 6. Caravan 7. BU2B 8. Clockwork Angels 9. Jacob's Ladder 10. Anthem (drop D so Ged can sing it) / Freewill (alternating) 11. Test For Echo SET 2 [Another Great Video] 12. The Anarchist* 13. The Wreckers* 14. Halo Effect* 15. Nobody's Hero* 16. Available Light* [strings take a breather] 17. Limelight 18. Headlong Flight 19. Drum Solo [strings return for remainder of set] 20. BU2B2* 21. The Garden* 22. Closer To The Heart* 23. Dreamline* ENCORE 24. 2112: Overture --> 25. Fly By Night 26. Malignant Narcissism --> 27. The Spirit of Radio That's actually a very well thought out setlist.
  4. I'm looking forward to the strings... but mainly where they were originally used on the album. I'm not opposed to maybe a couple of songs tweaked with a different arrangement with added strings. I'm just hoping they don't go overboard. But I doubt they will...this is RUSH after all. They pretty much get it right all the time.
  5. QUOTE (micgtr71 @ Jul 27 2012, 10:10 AM) ] I know I'm in the minority, but I think it would be great if Neil skipped his solo. Neil does solo's? Is this something new?
  6. Just recently I have really started getting into this song. Just took me a few years to appreciate.
  7. If not here, I'm pretty sure it will be posted over at RIAB.
  8. QUOTE (FountainOfSyrinx @ Jul 23 2012, 08:33 PM) Ayn Rand reads first chapter of Atlas Shrugged (intro vid) Summertime Blues Heart Full of Soul For What Its Worth The Seeker Mr. Soul Seven and Seven Is Shapes of Things Crossroads (Acoustic) Rivendell Halo Effect (Acoustic) Chicken Fried (Zac Brown Band cover) Madrigal Losing It (ONLY strings) 2112 (a capella - Nick Razwhathisname special appearance, and a sincere apology for the POOR CA SOUND QUALITY ) Just from one of my sources close to the band. Hope to see y'all there. Awesome...is that the 1st or 2nd set?
  9. QUOTE (mazyyz @ Jul 20 2012, 06:26 PM) If you feel you're being bullied on an internet forum, I would hate to see you handle yourself on the playground. I never said I was bullied. I said it happens in here...by the same culprits. I'm fine. No one attacked me until I mentioned there are "certain" people in here that like to gang up on other people. That's all I said. It wasn't even about me. I don't have a problem or feel bullied.
  10. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jul 20 2012, 03:48 PM) QUOTE (Cyclonus X-1 @ Jul 20 2012, 06:44 PM) Perhaps Faithless with the strings. that's the ultimate torture right there. Yeah...I would be Faithless if they played that with an orchestra!
  11. QUOTE (Tombstone Mountain @ Jul 20 2012, 05:12 AM) QUOTE (BrightAntennae @ Jul 19 2012, 11:10 PM) QUOTE (Tombstone Mountain @ Jul 19 2012, 05:55 PM) I'm very curious about what the orchestra will wear. Sure its not t shirt and jeans. Will they have a style of dress? Will it be tuxedos? Anybody have good ideas ??? I just kinda assumed in my mind they would wear black tuxedos. But it's an excellent question. I like your idea with steampunk attire or red jumpsuits. I know I'm setting myself up for a huge disappointment...but when I heard they were bringing a string section....I envisioned a violinist going up to center stage to jam with Alex during Losing It. They probably won't even play that song. But it would be very cool if they did! My gut feeling is that they will go some kind of steampunk garb for the CA set just to blend in with the theatrics on screen. It's funny I say that and the first thing that pops into my head is Terry Gilliam's art. Can't see them wearing tuxedos and evening gowns (if chicks are in the orchestra). They will probably wear some type of boring black attire... but I like your ideas!
  12. Hopefully they skip S&A songs this tour.
  13. QUOTE (metaldad @ Jul 20 2012, 05:43 AM) QUOTE (BrightAntennae @ Jul 19 2012, 11:13 PM) Yeah...that happens here a lot. Seems to be the same bully's too. Bully ? Are you for real ? If you think people that speak their mind and don't sugar coat stuff on a Message Board are "Bully's" then your skin might be to Thin for the internet. Enjoy your popcorn I try to not even pay attention to what you say anymore. It's pretty negative and clueless. I highly doubt you would talk to people face to face like you do on here.
  14. There are easily 6-7 songs on that list, that If I never hear live again...... I'd be OK. But if I had to choose just one, I suppose it would be Working Man. Great song (they all are)..but, please it would be nice to hear something off the wall like...Time and Motion, Cold Fire, Chemistry or Kid Gloves etc
  15. Yeah...that happens here a lot. Seems to be the same bully's too.

QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jul 19 2012, 03:08 PM) QUOTE (BrightAntennae @ Jul 19 2012, 12:29 PM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Jul 19 2012, 08:13 AM) I still maintain that Neil will be on a Higher Riser than usual as will Geddy And Alex and the String Section will be in the Center right infront of Neil in a pit. RUSH are classy guys and they don't need to hide a string section, on the contrary I think they'll do everything possible to show them off. The only thing that makes sense is behind Geddy (where his fake amps would be)... i would bring back the rotisserie chickens and make them a little higher and than stick the strings section behind them. But then we would only hear the strings and not be able to..... Oh.

You can't put a string section right in front of Neil's drums. Or, as some have suggested.... in front of Alex's amps. They would not even hear their own instruments. The only thing that makes sense is behind Geddy (where his fake amps would be)...since he has no amps, and his bass goes thru the mains.
  19. QUOTE (Pound of Obscure @ Jul 19 2012, 06:13 AM) QUOTE (BrightAntennae @ Jul 19 2012, 12:37 AM) QUOTE (Pound of Obscure @ Jul 18 2012, 08:44 AM) QUOTE (briremo @ Jul 18 2012, 09:45 AM) A small ensemble used sparingly in songs that are recorded with strings is completely appropriate and will add to the overall experience, not distract or damage it. I don't know. For ballads and strings, I hear Barry Manilow is on tour. Oh wow...neat! I hope he sings Mandy!!! She came and gave without taking! Yeah...that's just how she is...
  20. QUOTE (Tombstone Mountain @ Jul 19 2012, 04:51 AM) I read on the forum that tour rehearsals start on the 23rd of July...does anybody here have a confirmation of that? I heard they are in pre-rehearsal right now. But they start actual rehearsals on July 23rd. I'm guessing that's with the full crew etc.

  22. QUOTE (sdhonda @ Jul 17 2012, 08:08 PM) QUOTE (Snow-Dog2112 @ Jul 17 2012, 10:39 PM) Alright ladies and gents, lets see what we have so far on a setlist for the one and only... Clockwork Angels tour. 1. Caravan- Pretty much guaranteed, One of the two songs released back in 2010 (Has it really been that long?). We should look forward to seeing this one played. 2. BU2B- Like Caravan, Pretty much guaranteed. 3. The Wreckers- Awesome song, since plastered on the front of the album, will most likely get played 4. Headlong Flight- Same reasons as The Wreckers, and also since it was the first single released 5. Jacobs Ladder....mabey- Al's been talking about playing this one, but we never know if he's a reliable source or not ;P 6. Losing It- Seems likely to happen, seeing as they're playing with the orchestra 7. Marathon- Same reasons as Losing It 8. A Farewell To Kings- Ged's talked about trying this out in rehearsals for the past few tours, mabey they'll work it out by then 9. Tom Sawyer- Never went a tour without it. Then again, Iron Maiden went without playing Hallowed Be Thy Name on the tour they're currently on 10. The Garden- They seem real proud of this one, wouldn't make sense if they didn't play it. So what are your ten songs? *sigh* Dude, electic violin =/= orchstra/string section. Very different things. Also, The Garden is still kinda iffy, what with the piano issue. 50/50 in my book. Both Losing It and The Garden have keys. That would be my only hesitation why they wouldn't play those songs. However, I still think there is a strong likelihood we'll hear them both. Here my top 10 songs I think we'll hear: Tom Sawyer Limelight YYZ TSOR Freewill Subdivisions Caravan BU2B Headlong Flight Clockwork Angels
