  1. QUOTE (Todem @ May 1 2010, 07:04 PM) Moving Pictures opening the show...would also work really good. I hope they play it straight through...with limted interuptions..maybe a hello after Red Barchetta...then just the songs till the end of Vital Signs before we hear another word from Geddy. It's already been confirmed by Alex they will play MP in it's proper order. When and where it shows up in the setlist, remains to be seen. I suspect they will open the 2nd set with it.
  2. QUOTE (Score Out @ Apr 26 2010, 02:03 PM) QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Apr 25 2010, 03:28 PM) QUOTE (Score Out @ Apr 24 2010, 02:21 PM)QUOTE (powerwindows @ Apr 24 2010, 07:39 AM) QUOTE (Score Out @ Apr 23 2010, 01:08 PM)QUOTE (powerwindows @ Apr 22 2010, 02:30 PM) Oh for Christ's sake......NOBODY on this forum knows anything for sure! We do know that they are playing Moving Pictures in it's entirety...two new songs (one is named Caravan) and Jacob's Ladder (according to a new interview on Rush is a band by Alex). Other than that, speculate all you want, but nobody knows what the opener will be yet. In fact, I would imagine that Rush themselves have only recently finalized the set-list to give the engineers time to start pre-production on lighting, audio, and visuals while the band works through rehearsals. Mid May should see the band get together and start running through the entire show on a semi-permamanet basis for rehearsals to work out the kinks. However, given the criteria on the question at hand......my money is on The Spirit of Radio but I am hoping for a vault type of song like Analog Kid or Afterimage followed by an even more rare gem like Kid Gloves or Chemistry. The key to the Time Machine Tour is Geddy's vocals.........I doubt we'll see Hemisphere's, Cinderella Man, Anthem, Bastille Day, or A Farewell To Kings unless they are in medley form. As much as I would LOVE to see it again, those days and tours are over (glad I got to see them back then though). Either way...it's Rush, so it will kick ass! I'm sorry but you're incorrect. What I post I do know for sure - or else I'd state that it was opinion and not fact. There could always be some tweaks to the setlist in rehearsals (recall that the R30 Overture came about late in the game) but the setlist was created about 6 weeks ago. If you are 100% sure of the opening song, as you claim, my question would be your source and whether or not you know the entire set-list? I'm not going to give sources - sorry. I think we went through this on the tour postings a month or two ago. As far as the setlist, let's say I have access to the whole thing. I know the setlist conceptually and just about everything that's going to be in there however I want to leave a few surprises for myself. Seeing as you are "always right"......what have you been right on besides "Rush will be touring this year"?......that was almost common knowledge, based on the interviews with the band in the last several months. Your criteria on the what the opening song is, is very general...Looking through your posts, I don't see anything solid that says you are affiliated with the band. "A few more shows will be added" etc, doesn't do it. What have you got that proves you are in the know, besides vague/recycled info that has been posted at other sites prior to you posting it on here? Wow...this really is getting unrewarding. I'm not affiliated with the band. I just happen to be privy to just about everything going on with the tour. I guess there really isn't much upside in trying to share whatever pieces of it that I can - at least with this group. If you reviewed all my posts from the past several months and felt that was all recycled info and lucky guesses then I'm not really sure what to tell you other than you're very poor at analyzing information and I must be a truly remarkable guesser. I for one appreciate your posts and am confident you posts are 100% acccurate. I happen to know you from another board...so I can say with certainty that everyhing you say will happen. All one needs to do, is go back and look at pevious posts to see that your predictions were spot on. Please don't stop posting because of a few idiots in here....that have railed you. Thanks again!
  3. Ya know...they could always open with Afternoon Delight. "Star rockets in flight...afternoon delight" That would really get the crowd in a frenzy.
  4. QUOTE (theguyincygnusx1 @ Apr 25 2010, 06:38 PM)QUOTE (BrightAntennae @ Apr 25 2010, 06:35 PM) No way would I sit on the lawn at a Rush show. What's the point? The lawn is for a Pearl Jam concert. No... actually, I hate Pearl Jam and wouldn't even waste my my time or money. If I'm going to a concert....and spend the time and money...I'm getting good seats. The point is to watch and listen to the show? It's not as bad as you rich folk think. Rich? Me? Far from it. The last concert I went to was 2nd leg of S&A. I'm not a professional concert goer. So, when I go and see my favorite band; I'm not watching them from the lawn. And quite franky, lawn seats are not that cheap either. I'm gald you enjoy it tho'...frees up better seats for those of us that don't own a pair of binoculars. Enjoy the light show.

  6. Guys...Score Out is the real deal. If he says he knows...then he knows. Based upon his hints, it's major hit that probably gets the most radio airplay in your hometown. Odds are it's one of these four songs: TSOR Freewill Limelight Tom Saywer Since I highly doubt they will open the 1st set with MP you can scratch both Limelight and Tom Sawyer from the list. That leaves TSOR and Freewill. Flip a coin...I hope it's Freewill because I like to hear TSOR later in the set. It's my favorite song and would hate to hear it so early. But...my money is on.........TSOR.
  7. Nah..they will play all of MP in it's entirety and in order.
  8. I still think Time Stand Still would make a great opener. But I also think Freewill, Anthem, Fly By Night or Bastille Day would be perfect too. I think it will be one of those for sure.
  9. I suspect they will open with Time Stand Still. Just a gut feeling. However, I do agree with Snowdog that one needs to take into consideration songs earlier in the set are going to be ones without pyro or special effects.
  10. I was able to hear TCE on the Signals tour. However, at the time it really was no big deal. Even tho it's my favorite off MP, it doesn't translate live as well as other songs. Don't get me wrong...I'm still looking forward to it, as well as Vital Signs.
  11. The Seattle show (White River 2007 leg) was very close to a sell out. Add the problem of no Vancouver BC or Portland dates and you have a definite sell out.
  12. I agree with everyone here. Presales are mostly a scam. They are nice tho' if the event is likely to sell out in hurry like Hannah Montana or some BS show. The presale seats are not the best but it's a guarantee if you worried they might sell out. Up here in the NW we only get one show as opposed to three this time around and I know it will sell out quick. But...I'm not a Citi card member so I'm taking my chances on TicketBastard.
  13. The 2010 tour is on. Starts mid June in Albuquerque,NM. For those of you who need that "official" announcement, it will be coming soon. Hopefully by Apr 5th or so. 40-45 Dates...then back to the studio in the fall to complete the album Back on tour in 2011 hitting and hitting way more cities than on 2010 tour.
