No votes for Feedback?

The entire thing as a whole is perfect. What is the point in breaking it into parts?
I agree with this.
Its the whole song that is the masterpiece, not parts of it!
Well you don't have to pick anything jerkoff.
People can have favorite parts of something. Some of the comments here attest to that.
Are you just upset that you cant pick Feedback as an option?

Hmmm....I'm listening to Hemispheres (from the Sectors set)...
I really don't like the production...it is kind of harsh sounding.

I haven't seen Analog Kid mentioned yet. I love the re-tooled version on Different Stages.
I was going to bring that up, I thought it may been have mentioned already.
That extra chorus at the end really enhances the song.

I think even The Smiths and The Cure deserve to be in there before Green Day.
And Yes, Iron Maiden, The Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, Judas Priest, The Cars, Styx, Foreigner, The Scorpions, Depeche Mode, Cheap Trick, Warren Zevon, Willie Nelson, Kraftwerk...I can go on.

Fixed...Well, the Rock Hall is inducting another group of musicians, and they are
Green Day
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Lou Reed
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
Bill Withers
The Paul Butterfield Blues Band
Additionally the 5 Royals will receive the early influences award, and Ringo Starr will receive the Award of Excellence.
As a reminder, these are the groups that did not make the cut this year.
Yes
Deep Purple
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
Jethro Tull
The Moody Blues
Boy George

I thought NIN would make it.
I didn't know The Smiths were on the ballot. Tons of hipsters are going to be pissed.

And no matter what it always comes back to Presto's "sound". Look at the content. Look deeper.

I voted year but I probably should have gone the other way because I LOVE LOVE LOVE me some Hemispheres. This one never gets old.
Side 2 especially is sublime.
You voted correctly - you voted yes.
I'm sorry that my thread title and my poll question are kind of opposite. The question is: do you like Hemispheres?
Sixty-one (61) answered yes.
Three (3) said no. Can you believe it?
Yes, because people have different tastes and preferences regarding music.
But anyone who dislikes Presto is f*cking wrong.
It's hard to believe that a band that could make a record like Hemispheres would make a record like Presto

I can understand disliking Presto because it is not musical genius. Hemispheres is.
Your musical 200 "IQ" scale only applies for The Speed of Love.
You have to take a different test for everything else.
Isn't it hard to believe that the same person who would fight for Hemispheres would fight for The Speed of Love? That must mean I am insane.
Or you used to do a lot of drugs ;)

Presto is damn good. it's very different than Hemispheres but that doesn't make it something "lesser". They really acheived something remarkable with Presto. It's just way more subtle and nuanced. It's a beautiful record.
I recognize Hemispheres "brilliance" for what it is but I'm really glad they did not continue with that overdone bombastic style. That was definitely the "peak" for that.

Age has nothing to do with it. It was a conscious decision. The same songs on the two tours since have been back up to speed.
This...
But wasn't Neil heavier during the S&A tour?

I like the "sig-sig-signals get crossed" on some versions of Vital Signs.
I know this is beside your point but Vital Signs seems to me to be a really under appreciated song. It's such a brilliant song. Their music and lyrics at that time (PeW and MP) went together so well.
I love it. I love the mood and atmosphere and I really think it's one of the most uniquely original sounding songs ever created. It's in my top ten Rush songs and competes with Red Barchetta as the best song on Moving Pictures. It manages to come off even better live.

Were you listening to Hemispheres? It makes food taste better...
Are you kidding? A few weeks ago, my husband turns to me and says (with a semi-astonished expression on his face): do you really like Rush music?
And you said, "no, not really. You'd have to be totally cracked to like this ear-splitting shrieking noise." And then you put on the Manilow.
No. My love for music I keep private and do not share with him. Rush belongs to me.
Do you keep all of your bootlegs under a loose floorboard or something? :P
No. I keep the bootlegs in a metal box that I put in a hollow in a tree on our property.
Under the loose floorboards go the rest of my Rush stuff.
:)
Then where do you keep the bodies?
I don't have any bodies.
You're experienced enough to know not to answer that any other way ;)

Seems like I'm the only one that when with Grace Under Pressure. It doesn't get much more intellectual than '1001001 SOS' surely?
P/G does have it's moments (RSA, most of Between the Wheels, The Enemy Within) and it's overall feel is more "intellectual" than most others, but it's weighed down too much by "cheesy" stuff like "put on your kid gloves", the body electric, and "you know how that rabbit feels going under your speeding wheels" stuff.
Though I really do believe that under the surface, Red Lenses may be the most intellectual song they've ever recorded.

Just remember - unlike other things... this is true with your brain....
If you don't use it, you lose it.
That's very true. My penis fell off a long time ago.

Marathon Live, I love that more than studio
Because it has the full awesome finale.

As the Hemispheres Ambassador - Red Vinyl (HARV), I'd like to go on record as saying I did what I could to try to keep the discussion focused on Hemispheres: I even threw a little hissy fit. But all the other Hemispheres lovers seemed to be "elsewhere," so I was quite outnumbered.
They're probably too busy listening to Hemispheres.

No, It's Spaceballs.
Which Hemisphere do you prefer?
