  1. Have not been on since the show... Have not listend to RUSH... Fired up Camera Eye tonight... Chills... What an amzaing show... Its so much to take in, most miss it.. the music, the show.. so much to process. No band gives what RUSH does.. Reflecting, this was one of the best shows ever, harkens back to Signals, my first show. Serious, did the job of playing the songs spot on.. Geddy sounded better to me this time then the last 2 trips to H Town. Neil and the solo.. damn near perfection... and Alex did it right, and then frekin gave it that over the top.. mind blowing 110 % on the final song.. Working Man.. the band worked so damn hard. A huge Thank you to RUSH.. see ya next time!
  2. Absolutely the best show from the last 3 tours. Highlits for me in order are: 1. Working Man (ended the show) Alex tore it up 2. Camera Eye (Refreshing! and mind blowing) 3. Caravan!!! (wow I am an old fan... this is the best they have done in a very long time) I caught a shirt that Alex through out It says on the front, "Slobovich says ...The last time someone grabbed my sausage..." Pics with my 8mp cell phone, 12 rows out. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk131/Zissouz/RUSH%20HOUSTON%209-25-2010/Thethe1.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk131/Zissouz/RUSH%20HOUSTON%209-25-2010/the2.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk131/Zissouz/RUSH%20HOUSTON%209-25-2010/the1.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk131/Zissouz/RUSH%20HOUSTON%209-25-2010/Photo1101.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk131/Zissouz/RUSH%20HOUSTON%209-25-2010/Photo1142.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk131/Zissouz/RUSH%20HOUSTON%209-25-2010/Photo1088.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk131/Zissouz/RUSH%20HOUSTON%209-25-2010/Photo1080.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk131/Zissouz/RUSH%20HOUSTON%209-25-2010/a1.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk131/Zissouz/RUSH%20HOUSTON%209-25-2010/thethe4.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk131/Zissouz/RUSH%20HOUSTON%209-25-2010/thethe5.jpg
  3. This blows s and a away. Caravan is THE best song they have put out in a long time. I hear a lot of old Rush in here.. even some Hemispheres. Hmmmm time machine
  4. QUOTE (nobodys hero @ Apr 10 2010, 02:37 PM) I'd like the Stooges as well as Count Floyd for the Weapon. Jerry Stiller was a hoot, but the boys themselves play great characters. I would love to see Joe / Count Floyd again http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRw9wlOZ9Lg
  5. All I see left tonight on TickeBastard is lawn seats for Houston Show "Full price tickets".
  6. Not preferential treatment, no, more like 1000 day traders that sit all day scooping up valuble seats as independants who then place those tickets up for sale on stubhub. Now for filtering. The VIP tickets are garaunteed to be within the 1st 15 rows and carry a hefty price. I would bet my tickets that they do hold onto the seats that fall into this category.
  7. QUOTE (trenken @ May 2 2010, 04:28 PM) I know whats going on here with some of these shows selling out. My buddy greg works for stubhub. He told me a while back what brokers do is buy many tix for an event, then wait til the show gets closer and sell them at a profit. everyone that has a pc anywhere in the U.S. can be a "Broker" now... I noticed that there are 160 pit seats - of those - 50 are on stubhub You are literally fighting against thousands of "brokers" = including billy bob in his trailer for tickets. I also notice that there are many more seats available on stubhub for section 102 than the 101 or 103 section. Its actually so much easier to be a "scalper" these days... you dont need a business front etc. You need a PC and a site like stubhub. Its sucks. After what I have seen, I am glad to have gotten 6th out of the pit. I feel very fortunate.
  8. I agree with this statement from another thread: http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?showtopic=55145 QUOTE I'm an audio engineer and used to mix FOH for a living. While being up close(1st several rows) puts you closer to the artist, it also puts you in a hole in the sound between what's actually coming off the stage(which often sounds horrible) and what's coming off the main speaker stacks. In other words, the sound usually blows there, especially for someone like me that HATES bad sound. Then of course as someone else said, you don't get the full effect of the light show either. And that is why I prefer being about a dozen rows back. For the Boston show, I am sitting 13th row center. He is correct about the sound and light show. Really the only place I would hate to be at this venue is on the lawn... it is wayyyy back + I have seen the lawn empty fast if good rain comes on.
  9. The pit is great, but... for me that first or second row out of the pit in the center section would be awesome. I honestly would buy that over the pit this time. Reason is.. yes it was cool as hell to be so close to Geddy, but...I know that I missed an aspect of the overall show viewpoint wise that I would have experienced at about 8th row center. Thats just me now a days.
  10. pic of the venue dot... dot . . . Geddy's side I am happy with this. Been at this venue a few times and these are not my dream seats but second best to me. Been in the pit.. its ok. I would have liked about 8th-10 row center. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk131/Zissouz/Rush%202010/cwbetter.jpg and 1 more http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk131/Zissouz/Rush%202010/cwbest.jpg Perhaps this will help some to make choices on where they are willing to sit.
  11. The auction on ticketbastard was not to bad in 08 for Houston. Worth watching. http://www.ticketmaster.com/auction/0C0044...ink=edp_auction I went with 6 row out of the pit right section but seats close to the center section. Citibank popped noting but the rear sections from the time gates opened.
  12. QUOTE (FlyByNight @ Apr 14 2010, 01:25 PM) Hey There Fellow Rush Heads , EVERYWHERE I have been to see The Boys In the past 10 years I've seen these ticket prices of $150 + a seat AND MORE! Nothing really new and I know that YOU ALL know ...Its' going to be worth EVERY penny of the cash any of us put out. I also think the venues costs (and our recession) are a huge part of the basic increase of the ticket prices. PLUS , remember the Boys (Rush) are involved with their human rights museum and other "social' philanthropy goings on, so you can look at it as all you're spending on a night (or 3 as I am) for your entertainment and pure pleasure as a way of helping out the world at large too!!! See , I always find the silver lining in everything!!!! I tend to look at the the cars go by ....... I CAN NOT WAIT.!! OMG! YEAH! and as always ..... FOREVER !!! RUSH !! 2112 and beyond ! There are a few bands that I am willing to pay a lot of money to see, and RUSH is #1 I am not a big U2 fan, and bought cheap tics. As I dissapointedly watched the show I was glad that I was not in one of the $1k seats. IMHO, 325 or so for a vip seat vs 1K for U2 is a better price for a better band.
  13. Scalpers have always been a pia. I remember having to campout on sidewalks (this dates me lol) to get the good seats before the scalpers did. The scalpers found a way around that. They hired homeless people to stand in the lines and get there before fans. Now the scalpers are having a ball again. There are obscure anti scalper laws that were set up in the 80s I believe in Texas that had some impact. But now, those laws are obsolete. I doubt that even if the government enacted law to make it illegal to sell tickets above face value it would not stop scalping.
  14. Hypothetical Quote: "WTF, fans are buying tickets from StubHub and other scalpers for INSANE prices" "As they are willing to pay, lets try to cut the scalpers out and have the money go to the band and promoter instead of the scalpers". Times have changed . . . . people sit at home and purchase tickets from venues all over the US for the sole purpose of consigning them to scalpers to make money. I believe . . . . . the purpose of the pre sales and semi surprise pre-pre sales is to give the fans a way to pay about 1/2 of what these tickets would sell for on Stub Hub etc. Unless we go back to standing in lines and do away with internet sales this is not going to change.
  15. 1. Many dont buy music anymore, so touring is the primary way to generate income. 2. People are willing to pay . . . 3. Atleast tics are not in the price range of U2 who btw were auctioning off tics for up to 2k a seat. As a matter of fact in Houston that was the ONLY way to get the primo seats. 4. Everyone and his cousin from all over the US can buy seats and re sell them. 5. Lastly, a lot of the older bands get away with this as they wont be around much longer . . . . . and there is no replacement for the music of their generation put out. Once they are gone.. its all over. So, compared to what some other bands are charging (such as U2) these prices are lower...
  16. @ RUSH - Please turn up the volume in HOUSTON this tour! I remember seeing RUSH 8th row center for the Signals tour. Sweet pure undistorted and LOUD! But The last 2 gigs RUSH played in Houston at the Cynthia Woods Pavillion the sound was good, BUT the damn volume was way to low! So, please use the "Time Machine" and turn the volume back up to what it was back in the 70's and 80s. We are NOT that old lol.
  17. Note the third item in the latest RUSH newsletter . . . . . . and the word "entirety" http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac161/21rushhsur12/moving_pictures.jpg
  18. RUSH! What a hard ass workning band! These guys kick out a tour almost every year, and each one is awesome comparatively speaking to thier same age other groups. No One from their era can hang with them.
