  1. its hard to even find smalls at the shows. usually medium is it. the good news is kids will grow into....then out of it.
  2. Yesterday my son wore his TMT shirt (moving pictures version with Starman) to school (Freshman/HS). One of his teachers came up to him and told him he shouldn't be glorifying Satan. I just left the school where I met with the teacher and A) told him he had no business scaring the crap out of my son and I explained what the starman is all about so maybe next time he won't look so ignorant to the students.
  3. QUOTE (thesweetscience @ Oct 15 2012, 08:16 PM) QUOTE (clem @ Oct 15 2012, 09:13 PM) I'm a fan of their music as well. A lot of people dissed them, though, when they opened for Rush on the CP tour. I remember them being major cool. The guitarist played a bit of a riff from "Fly By Night" and "Limelight" as a teaser at different times during their set. Clem Check out their new stuff. It is really very good. The "Into the Sun" album is so good my wife listens to it! And if you don;t cry listening to his tribute to his father "miss you' you have no soul!
  4. I was living in South Florida at the time and went to the old Miami Arena. I remember walking into the arena and asking my buddy, who's opening? He said Candlebox. I was like, WTF is a Candlebox? They rocked the place! Been a huge ever since!
  5. KM was doing a pre-show interview at a local radio station last Friday and the subject of great live bands came up. KM gives extensive kudos to RUSH at about 10:22 (and mentions RRHOF). BTW, I'm a huge CB fan and saw them live first when they opened for RUSH back in the day. http://www.thebucketheadshow.com/cc-common...rticle=10495541 I did not expect to hear this when I was listening to the interview!!!

  11. I play guitar. I can sing when listing to music. But I cannot sing and play guitar. My voice tracks along with the notes in pitch. No matter how I try I cannot do both. Utmost respect for Ged,
  12. about two years ago, about a month after dragging my wife and eager teenage boys to TMT, I wore my concert T to the mall Christmas shopping. Sitting in the food court, a couple 18 yo kids come and start talking about RUSH and the show, my wife was rolling her eyes and when they walked away, she said something to the effect of "Well, that's nice honey, you made some little friends, teenage degenerate stoners." Then, literally 20 minutes later we were throwing away $75 at TEAVANA for some overpriced teas and cups and shit, and the lady waiting on us was about 55 yo I'd say. Looked like my mom (I'm 48 btw). after the sale she says, "I love RUSH, favorite all-time band, DId you go to the West Palm or Tampa show?" I was floored. My wife got this "really?" look on her face and we started talking about the concert. This lady was as big o' fan as me. Knew everything. It was awesome. I left there on cloud nine. I said "Wow, I made lots of new friends today!" and some RUSH is universally loved statements. This is all I got from her -_- I was beaming!!
  13. I lost my mom a year ago to liver cancer. And I know how you feel. There are a few songs that remind me of her, though TG is not one of them. I would however love to have it played at my memorial in another 40 years as it has so much reflective meaning to it. Bless you buddy!

  16. this thread brings up memories from 'back in the day' when we used to camp out over night for every big show. What a party that used to be! But back to scalpers...they used to have in wait in line just like us. They would pay a couple of bums, uh, homeless, uh disadvantaged citizens to wait in line all over town and buy hand fulls of tickets. Sometimes the brokers would show up at 5 minutes to 10 hand the guys a six pack and a $20 bill. But man we had the fastest Ticketmaster outlet in town! Always get awesome seats!
  17. QUOTE (bravado @ Sep 9 2012, 11:00 AM) The day the CA album came out Iand when I first heard The Garden, I cried my eyes out....That song just did me in...The same happens in Bravado sometimes.... To me The Gardne just reflect my life of getting older ...I have a huge Garden in my back yard that I tend to and nurture as much as I can...I have measured my life thru love and respect before and it is so hard to earn and its easily burned. The hours continue to tick away and the cells too....The Watchmaker (God to me anyhow) still has time up his sleeve for me....My future every day disappears into memory with moments (days) between....to my its just about growing up aging you know It is what it is and forever...its just a very very very well put together piece of song that touches me and others too so it seems Tears has done the same in past years not in a long time... The Pass has gotten to me before as well.....Growing up into becoming an adult "Nothings what I tought it would be" anyhow...Yes The Garden does get me in a Trance too see you guys in Indy? Let me know whos going I'm with you bro
  18. QUOTE (ShlappinDahBass @ Sep 5 2012, 08:59 AM) I just can not (emotionally) get over this song. It has got to be one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. These guys truly created a masterpiece that I hope they play live...NEXT SATURDAY Is anyone else still in "The Garden Trance"?
  19. QUOTE (tangy @ Sep 17 2012, 02:48 PM) think i will sit that one out. an army of dudes raising their arms as ged sings about goddesses will most likely not be synchronized or graceful.....
  20. QUOTE (Del_Duio @ Aug 31 2012, 03:04 PM) A SIMPLE PLAN http://images.allmoviephoto.com/1998_A_Simple_Plan/billy_bob_thornton_bill_paxton_brent_briscoe_a_simple_plan_001.jpg
  21. QUOTE (invisible airwave @ Sep 15 2012, 12:45 PM) http://i50.tinypic.com/mjsh8p.jpg Love this underrated buddy cop movie. That awful DeNiro/Murphy movie,Showtime, ripped this plot off 11 years later. "Not if you tied my toung to your tail-pipe and drove me eighty miles-an-hour naked across a field of broken glass!" YES! There's a scene where James Woods shows about a dozen emotions in like 15 seconds! Amazing! Loved this movie.
  22. http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BNzE3NjQ4MTQyNV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTYwOTU1MDg4._V1._SY317_.jpg Gary Oldman plays Beethoven. This movie has some incredible imagery, music and acting. phenomenal.
  23. TBG substitutes cogent writing for words like penis and vagina to get a laugh. Boring
