Nope, nope and nope. First full-on heavy metal album(where every track is metal) is Stained Class and it was released in 1978. Nope. Black Sabbath. Released on February 13, 1970 in the U.K. Half of the tracks on self-titled are the stuff not much different than Jimi Hendrix Experience. It's far from a metal-defining album. Paranoid is a different story, it was much more metal. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is the least metal out of the first 6 BS albums. I don't know about sounding like 'Hendrix', but I'll give you it's definitely more blues based then their following albums. Still--it's the first metal album. Master Of Reality is definitely all-out bone-crunching-riff metal though.

Power Windows is WAY better than HYF. I copped wood from the CA setlist; not only did they play most of CA, their best albums in decades, but rotated 5 songs from PoW in the setlist. The closing show on the tour was in KC and it was the best I've ever seen them--they were on fire and I had goose bumps that night.

I caught this sci-fi masterpiece on Amazon Prime the other night. It is one of the best movies I've seen in years. I haven't touched psychedelics in over 20 years, but seriously had some mild flashbacks watching this. Interdimensional trippyness! The Star Wars connection with Natalie Portman, Oscar Isaac, and the Dr. Ventress character was not lost on me either, lol. Check this movie out if you like either: A. Good Sci-Fi, B. Existentialism, C. Horror, D. Psychedelics, or E. All Of The Above.

I disagree that GUP and PoW are sterile, but you are dead-on with those three songs bringing HYF down--I would even say they soiled the whole HYF album experience for me as those are arguably their 3 worst songs. Geddy was right, they went too far with the shynth pop on this album. If there were 3 other songs more in line with the rest of HYF or PoW instead of Shit Nature, Tai Shit and Shit Water, HYF would be one of their better albums, but holy crap those songs suck.

The first four Metallica albums are better than anything Megadeth has released. I like 90's Megadeth more than what Metallica was doing in that decade though. After that they're both hit and miss. Metallica > Megadeth but both are legend.

Tough, but I voted Motley. If Ghost's last effort was anywhere as good as Meloria, I would have voted for Team Tobias instead.

Yup! Can't stand the Van Hagar stuff. Love the guitar work of course. I will say when I was back in high school I played 5150 a hundred times over the summer. Loved it. Even saw the tour. BTO opened! Cow Palace. 5150 was the first concert I went to--early Summer of '86 when I was 13. Later that summer I saw Ozzy and then David Lee Roth. 1986 was rite of passage for me! Brilliant memories my friend!! CHEERS TO ROCK AND ROLL! I saw the "Eat Em And Smile" Tour and "Skyscraper" Tour. Both of those tours blew VAN HAGAR AWAY! JMO!!!! In Spokane, Hagar destroyed DLR, who couldn't even fill the arena. I had been a Hagar-hater, but he won me over that year. Both camps were at their very peaks on these tours. VH was pretty much always a well-oiled machine with Hagar live until Eddie went off the rails with meth in the mid-90's, but even DLR stepped up big early in his solo career because he had something to prove. He also had one of the best bands ever assembled and he was still physically and vocally capable of doing all his crazy shit live. He still talked too much on the EEAS Tour from what I remember, but seeing him do 'On Fire' and doing all the 720 deg jump spins between verses was f***ing nuts.

I dig The Elder. This just isn't the kind of album a band like KISS would be permitted by fans and critics to release without a lot of push back. Especially after releasing 2 pop albums previously, everyone was waiting for a return to form. I think if The Elder was released later in their career it would have been better received. It's a good album in hindsight and The Oath might make it into my Top Ten KISS Songs. I even like The Elder more than Creatures Of The Night--COTN is over-rated; at least half of the songs are very stale and unmemorable, IMO.

It's awesome Rick & Morty is signed on for 70 new episodes, but I can't believe they will keep up the quality with that kind of demand from Cartoon Network. They will have to get even more outside writers and undoubtedly there will be some subpar episodes, even whole seasons. I didn't catch on to the show until halfway through Season 3 so the wait hasn't been as big of a deal for me. Kind of like the Game Of Thrones novels--I didn't start reading them until four years ago (and I refuse to watch the show until maybe the novels are complete). I couldn't imagine being one of the fans who started reading the series 22 years ago--Hell, I've already given up on the idea Martin will finish the 7th novel. I digress! Rick and Morty is even better than the first two seasons of Venture Bros! Probably better than Family Guy! Up The Mortys!

I'm possibly the only person who likes No Prayer better than Seventh. :) Seventh is very good, I like every Maiden album except the Blaze ones (which I have to revisit. I have to listen around Blaze. It's not Bruce-centrism, I like Paul's work. Just don't think Blaze fit well. The Clansman is excellent, though). No Prayer is really uneven and I don't like every song, so arguably it's worse than Seventh even for me. But it's high points are better than Seventh's as well. It's not one of my favorites, and it doesn't hold a candle to SSOASS, but No Prayer is Maiden's most under-rated album. It's definitely better than Fear Of The Dark. The songs are just plain better overall and it sounds fresher. It's a shame they have completely forsaken playing Tailgunner, Public Enema, or anything from that album live. The Legacy Of The Beast Tour would have been the perfect time to dust off a song from that album and stop playing FOTD for at least one freaking tour!

Appetite is better than anything AIC has put out (or most bands for that matter), but GnR pretty much shit the bed after that. I have much more respect for AIC and Axle is a colossal douche bag so I'll pick AIC over GnR any day.

Michael Caine wept like six too many times in The Dark Knight trilogy. Blubber blubber blubber. Meanwhile Hopkins kills it as Odin. Actually not for this reason at all, I still go A-Hop.

I like how there was a heavy focus on Piece Of Mind. Aside from Maiden's 2005 Early Days tour, they have skimped over this album pretty much since Somewhere In Time 86-87. I'm not the biggest fan of playing both The Clansman and Sign Of The Cross. I'd like to see them play something from No Prayer For The Dying--not that it's their best by any means, but because they haven't played anything from this for decades and it's criminally under-rated IMO. And for Christ's sake, lose Fear Of The Dark for at least one tour! It's a great song, but has totally warn out it's welcome--it aint no Hallowed. But on another positive note, I'm almost shocked they finally dusted off Flight Of Icarus--and the flamethrower was dope. I'd give this set list an A-, but because FOTD is still being played, I give it a B+. I'm sure this will keep Steve Harris up at night.

I'm not a big TV viewer, but Anthony was one of the few personalities that instantly grabbed me and I became hooked on the first few seasons of No Reservations. I kinda lost track of his career but would check in on him now and again. Really sad. RIP man. :martini:
