  1. The passion for creating and playing music has withered and been replaced by the passion for acquiring excessive amounts of currency Clockwork Angels, a masterpiece, proves you wrong. Creative on every level. It sounds different than anything that came before it. Their heaviest album ever. So what if they wanna make some coin? God bless 'em I consider that album to be a steaming pile of chit. Not even a shadow of the brilliance and excellence of the earlier years. I really have to wonder if some of u have burned yourselves out a bit.
  2. The passion for creating and playing music has withered and been replaced by the passion for acquiring excessive amounts of currency. That's the only motivation that exists for them. They aren't touring for ANY other reason.
  3. Totally Assinine comment---Oh wait, what would one expect from an ASS ? Totally Assinine comment---Oh wait, what would one expect from an ASS ? I'm an ass for not having bottom-level standards? Sorry, but w/o having individuals with the highest of standards Rush would have disappeared into obscurity after their debut album.
  4. Why should having high standards and expectations (outside of Geds physical limitation) be considered as whining? Many of u are like dogs happy to get any scrap thrown ur way and Rush takes advantage of this fact. U guys in turn are partially responsible for the compromised, schit setlists settled on over the past 10 yrs.
  5. Do you really think so? I honestly don't. I think this is it. We'll know Friday what kind of shape they are in. Lol, Lorraine. Look at the Stones. They are complete toast mentally and physically and still do huge tours approximating 80 yrs old!! (Demanding $500 per ticket and getting it!) Comparing Rush to the Stones is a fool's errand. There are anomalies in the music business. The Stones are one of them. They are not on the same scale or tier worldwide. Moreover, the Stones are literally a legacy band. What is your point here? That you don't want Rush to stop touring, or that they're BS'ing their farewell to pump ticket sales? Does Peart seem like the kinda guy to you that BS's this kinda stuff? If so...seriously, you need to watch the Rush doc stat. :) They're BSing to boost ticket sales. Peart is very well in on the leaks and baiting. I have watched the documentary. LOL. Honestly, the members of Rush just aren't that nefarious. You're thinking way too much Motley Crue/Live Nation cutthroat style of hype and promotion. And you're not wrong for a fair array of acts who need to try and drum up sales. But Rush ain't one of those. If you think they're going out on this R40 tour for the money...you're wrong. They're all multi-millionaires, set for life, as well as their children. They're doing R40 for the fans. And a huge part of that is thanks to Geddy. 'Cause if Alex and Neil had their druthers, this wouldn't be happening. Future one-off outings are nearly at the point of Not a Chance. Not quite. But close. Oh my goodness, if you believe this you are as naive as they come- if not a band "promoter" (no insult!!). For Rush its 99% about your currency, and separating you from it. There still is an attractive amount of money to be made and Rush will forge on as long as the potential is there. There's no interest whatsoever in taking the higher road in the name of integrity. And, btw, they surely don't consider themselves to be very wealthy. You can always be wealthier!!

  8. Sorry for the use of expletives, but you guys are taking the bait. When Rush does surprise everyone with a "unforseen" 21 date US tour after R40 you should feel duped and used.
  9. They WILL go on...either u guys are subsidized by the band to keep promoting their retirement or you just don't get it. Stfu already.
  10. Lol, the fog is a classic touch. Love it.
  11. I can see why all of the leaks about retirement and injuries are coming out of the woodworks!!!
  12. That's what I'm talking about! Now they're speaking my language!! Edit: holding sticks in wrong orientation!! Yes, purist! :)
  13. Not one fck will be given by me if they retire after this. Imo they should've done it back in 2000 and spared us all of the awful material they've produced since then, fouling the truly great Rush historical catalogue, as well.
  14. They need to lose the weight and get in shape. This is their biggest problem imo. They're way too young to be complaining like theyre 75. Lazy fkkers. Says someone who has never toured for 40 years... Scuse my French, but boo-fckin-hoo!! How often do these guys actually work during a tour season? 3 hours onstage every other night? Socializing/partying the rest of the time? Sleeping in 5-star hotels and getting room service on a whim? Dining at the finest restaurants, imbibing 40 yr old wines? Off 3-6 months per year? Sounds pretty rough. Perhaps they'd rather work a normal 40-60 hour workweek fully engaged in doing REAL work, making a pittan e of what they do now?! Problem is they have been living high on the hog for too long.. Bottom line is they pretty much have it made and can't be bothered to do "work" they consider beneath them. So do I really gaf and feel sorry for them since they've been "working" part-time for 40 yrs? What a joke! So are you one of those people who feel like the government "owes" them something? They don't make music for us, they make music for themselves. They've put their time in over the years. It's not like an office job where someone sits and shuffles papers all day. It's like an athlete who knows when to call it a day. Oversimplistic, bullchit "logic". Nothing personal I assure.

Sounds pretty rough. Perhaps they'd rather have little choice working a normal 40-60 hour workweek fully engaged in doing REAL work, earning a pittance of what they do now? Getting a week off per year for vacation?! Problem is they have been living high on the hog for too long and can't be bothered to do "work" they consider beneath them. So do I really gaf and feel sorry for them b/c they've been quote "working" part-time for 40 yrs? What a joke!

  17. And the other two guys are having a martini in the caboose! The other two guys are shoveling the coal. :) Or shoveling schit!

  19. I'll be heckled for this, but I listen to Deadmau5 now (Electro/BPM on Sirius generally). Saying goodbye to the old! At least I'm keeping with Canadian :)
  20. Watched this last nite and surprised how out of shape Alex looks. He's overflowing out of his collar and has the general appearance an elderly man, albeit having a much younger voice. He also seemed fatigued, seemingly having difficulty putting his ideas into words at times. I hope he pulls himself together cuz he's relatively too young to be looking like this. Not slamming him, I'm purely concerned! Btw, the whole interview was complete chit. Interviewer should be whacked over the head with a rubber chicken.
  21. Maybe the rest of the concert was the post-hiatus jibber jabber! :)
  22. That would be $500 cash for each member for 15 seconds of their time. At this point in the game I would think chances are good that someone from their inner circle will contact to make a special time for u three to meet. You must have cash in hand though, $100s only.
