  1. Geddy played two Rickenbackers. Tom Sawyer was recorded on Jazz bass and is played on a Jazz bass. It's his black pawn shop one. It used to be his primary. He use the Double Neck for Xanadu and his original blue one for Red Barchetta (the original bass used for that song) He also played two different Thunderbirds, one was the upside down style, can't remembery the specific name. He also played a Gibson Les Paul bass for Distant Early Warning. Surprisingly he played with 2 different Precision basses too. Actually Geddy played 3 different Rickeys' The black 4001 and then there was a red 4003 (I think?) and then the red doubleneck. Just went back to my twitter feed to confirm it.. the red Rickey was on CTTH. 8 Were any of these Rickeys original from early years?
  2. Wish they would squeeze in Bytor n Snowdog...sad its not included even in abbreviatex form :(
  3. I realize Im considered an outlier among Rush fans, but if they can please me it will be a grand slam for them for this tour. They've really pulled it off this time around!
  4. If he wasn't wearing his hipster sneaks, what did he have on his feets? Yeah he did have on his Chucks. If he wasn't wearing his hipster sneaks, what did he have on his feets? Yeah he did have on his Chucks. If he wasn't wearing his hipster sneaks, what did he have on his feets? Yeah he did have on his Chucks. Wait. What? Noooooooooo! .01 point deduction!! :)
  5. After combing through all pertinent variables including BluesChica's R40 instagram photo link, youtube vids, and setlist for Tulsa, I have noted the following critical parameters of the show Multiples of historically-significant and unique instrumentaria- Check Historically-significant loudspeaker system- Check Heterogeneous, nonwallofsound sonic quality- Check Significant/critical representation of songs from classical period- Check High-calibre visual effects representation- Check Musicians in (relatively) top-form, performancewise in every aspect- Check Fog- Check Minimalization of posthiatal material- Semi-Semi-check Critical, full experential period-specific show ambiance(setting)- Check Effort taken in appeasing the traditionalist/purist original/core discriminating followers: Exceptional- Check Logo-emblazoned t-shirt or hipster sneakerwear worn by lead singer: Absent- Check R40 show-quality score(unattended): 4.75/5 stars Based on the above factors I WILL be attending the May 30 R40 show!! (in close proximity to band nucleus :) It is now appropriate to state..FCK YES! I have been awaiting a show of this magnitude for decades. The Syrinx priests (yes, Rush) have finally acknowledged and embraced "ancient ways". Never thought I'd see them go full circle (not backwards!). I commend thee, Alex, Ged, and Neil on going the distance in making this historically-relevant tour idea a reality! Thanks again for all who helped compile Tulsa info for me! Best, Kurt
  6. They all used many different types of guitars/basses. Alex used a normal les Paul and his axcess model. A tele and strat also! Geddy used a fender, ric, and a couple others that I don't remember. Stage set up at the beginning was like the clockwork angels tour, and by the end of the concert it was like a highschool gym. They had "1974 high school" signs and (i can't remember the word) stuff hanging up. As the show went on, they added the washing machines etc, and then they started removing stuff. Alex had a whole stack of marshals it was awesome! A whole stack of Marshalls, eh? Thank u very much Pars :)
  7. Brb, seeing what kind of seats are available :P
  8. Actually no! There are a fair number of members that can discern between an 18 oz. filet and a schit sandwich. Looks like you are to me. Fling your pompous and predictable insults all you want. I'm sure you're very impressed with yourself. Quite the contrary if u knew me personally. I happen to know GR79 personally. We ride together. I'm the captain in this video, GR is the stoker in back. Team player all the way! Riding tandom bikes takes effort, and GR79 is all aboot the effort http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAJh9xWbIbo Lucky for u my phone won't let me watch :)
  9. Actually no! There are a fair number of members that can discern between an 18 oz. filet and a schit sandwich. Looks like you are to me. Fling your pompous and predictable insults all you want. I'm sure you're very impressed with yourself. Because I generally hold differing opinions on Rush with u and most others I'm pompous n full of myself? Quite the contrary if u knew me personally. It is you that chooses to be my adversary.
  10. Actually no! There are a good number of members that can discern between an 18 oz. filet and a schit sandwich.
  11. After reviewing last night's setlist I can say that outside of the first 5 songs the setlist, I am impressed, but want to ask you guys a few questions if you'll oblige me (I realize I've created some nonfriends here!): What was Alex and Ged's guitar inventory and what was the general sonic quality? Wall of sound? More raw and heterogeneous? Both? Speaker brand(s)? Stage setup and ambiance? Demeanor of the guys? Thanks if u can lend me your input. I'll be getting home from an international flight 3 hrs before the concert here and will be pooped. Want to be sure this show was all 9s! Thanks!
  12. http://www.setlist.f...k-33c8187d.html nothing for you until song #14, we'll see what comes next Thk u Bathory..
  13. I'm sure Ged would not be impressed with this depiction. He's too hip to smile like that.
  14. So if Geddy asked u for a ******* u would oblige? That was a bit over the line, even for you. Yes, it is & I apologize...I had a few margaritas in me when I wrote that! Edited
  15. So if Geddy asked u for a ******* u would oblige?
  16. Playing nebulous chit that they want, disregarding audience interest. Sounds like a winning strategy to me.
  17. We're getting jumpy in here. It's all a hoax. A cruel internet hoax So, I'm assumming all of this is fake too.... https://fbcdn-sphoto...71967cb9ecb1ff2 I've been a fan a long time, and never recall setlists known before opening nite.Although the swag looks awesome, is that gold or silver? Now its hitting me, duh, they never mailed out tour books before! to make "everyone involved with the tour sign a ND" then mail the set list out, is funny. TM, I ain't jumpy, as work is slow and its actually the highlight of my afternoon. How sad. S&A 2007 tour setlist was leaked the night before opening, some people were bitching outside the dress rehearsal. Fixed
  18. If the new kit has a set of actual chimes behind it, I might just run down and kiss Howard on the mouth. Well, maybe not do that!!! Damn, man, did u have to pull up that imagery? F'n NO..
  19. You can start your sanctimonious bitching Friday night. I found the ticket I will be purchasing if the post-hiatus composition is less than 15% My "bitching" is factual, not hypocritical, ftr.
  20. I rarely say this, but F'em. If they won't make a genuine attempt to appease long-term fans then get out and retire. Its a two-way street and always has been...seems they forgot about this while marveling at their 8-figure account balances.
