  1. Vapor Trails was the steam coming off a freshly laid diarrhea dump that kept perpetuating itself on thru to the last album.
  2. Neil was the hard, cold infusion of excellence and intelligence into the dying Rush concept. He shined so brilliantly, like a supernova, swiftly disappearing among the stars. He set the bar so very high, influencing greatness in others. Neil was the backbone and brain of Rush, a la Hemispheres.
  3. Yeah I just posted that in the Neil tribute thread. He probably should have left out the part about Neil's condition. Its this type of guy that made Neil so secretive, generally. Human garbage.
  4. They have a good number of absolute garbage channels, don't know why they cant do at least a month of Rush.
  5. Neil came late to the party- and left way too early!! :(
  6. Hope not. The Grammys have become such a tremendous sh!t-show it would be offensive.
  7. Been wearing a black tee all day today with this image on it. Amazed at how many ppl have acknowledged or come up to me to discuss Neil. From millenials to old-timers. Its funny, could tell when someone was making their way to me from 30 ft away, as probably any famous person could.
  8. I found this photo of Neil to be profound. If he only knew the journey he was about to experience, and the mammoth mark he was going make on the world of music, and the lives he so deeply touched.
  9. Often I was critical of the group, especially towards Neil. I regret that I wrote with such vitriol, but I have always loved Rush since first hearing atwas.
  10. Really hard to grasp the reality that Neil is no longer with us. He was a true giant among lyricists and musicians. Let's discuss and celebrate his life as he probably would've wanted us to! My 1st experience with Neil was meeting the group at the back entrance to the Watergate hotel, in DC, after the 1st show of the Moving Pics tour. As we followed their black limousine to the hotel, my friend was taking pics (moving pictures!) of the back of their car, without film, but we just wanted them to see the flashes, and give them a good laugh. When we arrived they let us walk to the back of the hotel to meet them at the door. All three of them were just standing there together, alone. It was surreal! I had only ever seen them on album covers and magazines. Neil was smiling and laughing, a dream come true. He was so kind, as were the others. And, the last time I saw Neil I was driving through a touristy part between the Capital Reef and Bryce NP Utah(perhaps Salina). He drove past us in his Aston-Martin. My first impulse was to follow and stealthily meet him if he got out. But then I thought....nah! :D It was exciting to see him out in his element. "Suddenly, you were gone, from all the lives you left your mark upon"
  11. As wonderful as that tribute was I understand. Gowan's voice is shot. I see STYX once a year and usually they do "Bohemian Rhapsody" like that. Just Gowan and that is always hard to swallow. I admire the thought and homage and I honor it. But I get it. It was very hard hearing Geddy sing on the R40 Tour. JMO But love him always. Hearing this song, with the lone drumkit in background, as it dawns on me that Neil is gone wrecks me :(
  12. Just watched Styx's tribute to Neil, playing Limelight, and I want to throw up. It just hit me how profound a tragedy this is. Very hard to swallow :(
  13. Hope he crafted a lengthy goodbye, otherwise there will be no closure(at least with me)
  14. Hope they bring him back home to rest in the Laurentians. A mountain among mountains..
  15. Thanks for your amazing music and memories, Neil. Always loved you...
  16. Would be a very fitting close to the Rush story. Should be relatively easy, and fun. I can oversee the project. Please consider. Still love you guys.
  17. I've often encouraged retirement for quite a long time, ever since Rush began polluting their great catalogue with droning, fantastically-subpar albums. I did enjoy the last tour, though, immensely.
  18. Same for me. Had never heard Rush before. Was about 13 and heard ATWAS on a Walkman while in a tent on a Boy Scout camping trip. Very cool! I hung out with the freaks in HS, listened to Nugent, Hendrix, FMac, etc. When I abruptly broke away from this crowd I distinctly remember when a football-team jock(of all people!) recommended Atwas to me as we were standing in front of the auto shop door. I soon went out and bought the Atwas 8-track -and that was it!! It was so refreshing to listen to, comparatively, and felt like I had finally found "my" band.
