  1. Alex has a terrible track record when comes to solo projects. Needs strict guidance of other talents, imo.
  2. Great idea, and was ready to buy, but they ruined it by including the clockwork/steampunk garbage into it. Very disappointed.
  3. Seeing that we're all human and make mistakes, has anyone ever identified musical errors of any instrument or recording/effects device, at any level, on any Rush track? If so, where? Thanks
  4. It was more fun when he was asking questions about their sexuality to stir the pot, I miss those days Coming down the pipeline, i assure! ;)
  5. And you dont? So they need to be compensated for any level of fan interaction?
  6. As young boys we men were trained to believe that it was we that were the sexual animals, and that females were these virtuous, angelic beings. Took me 50 yrs to realize its the damned opposite.
  7. Too beneath them to mingle with the maggotry? Afraid it will cheapen their "rockstar aura" and everything that has a $ attached to it? No reason for them not to, if not the for above reasons. Your thoughts?
  8. At least Keef Richards is still around Earl your number 3 rock star! I rather watch Kiefer Sutherland's dad in "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers." I did buy the deluxe box set of "Let It Bleed." It's awesome. I bet you own all the Keef guitar replicas! No Pat. I own no Keith guitars. I do own five Eddie replicas. Are they all the red, white and black Frankenstrat? Or have you got one that looks like that blue Charvel from the Van Halen II photoshoot? No Pat! I have a red. A bumble bee, a white and black and a white and black with circles. Fair Warning model. Also an aged red and white Frankenstrat. Sick! :) There's a good luthier selling Frankenstrat repros on ebay. Was going to buy one, but learned that the VH1 recordings were done with the white/black version, and that is THE album for me, and im a purist of sorts. He quoted my much higher for one bc it can be more authentic, like having a northern ash body, Schaller tuners 3tc. Thanks buddy!! Yes!!! I know all about those repros! I get it. You know your guitars but I'm a guitar whore!!! LOL! I bought one of those guitars. It won't be ready until around Christmas. These are selling like hotcakes. DUDE! You can request a bumble bee or the white and black EVH striped guitar to be transformed into a repro! They even put the cigarette burns on the neck!!!!!! I bought a bumble bee dude! Merry Christmas to me! Lmao!! Well done indeed! I like your style. Congrats man :)
  9. Thats not enough. Trust me, they feel poor if 40 is the #. They need to perpetually keep releasing marginally different recordings of the originals with cool names and more nostagia fluff attached

  11. I'm with you. These two were my favorite musicians of all time, and now they're gone. Although I never met either of them, I couldn't think of two more distinct personalities. One is the introspective modern-day philosopher, who's totally averse of socializing with anyone who even hints at the prospect of praising him. The other is the epitome of the carefree, celebrate-and-don't-think-about-it-too-much attitude, who fueled countless parties with his six-string onslaught. The ONLY parallel I could make between the two is that both had one feature that put them above all else in their respective fields: SUBMISSION TO THEIR CRAFT. That’s what is so fascinating to me. That dedication enhanced other parts of their personalities in different ways. Yet - both dead in their mid 60s with cancer. Both in Santa Monica! :o
  12. Funny. One of the guys who was with me when meeting Rush (May of '81) asked them about the VH feud. Alex replied that they're @ssholes.
  13. Goodness gracious. First Neil, then EVH :( What a year. Geddy, stay away from Santa Monica!!
  14. A holographic performance would be sublime. Would attend, no question. It may initially seem a little "creepy", in theory, but once audience gets beyond those initial feelings it would be an unbelievable, emotion-soaring experience. Groundbreaking and brilliant. Would be terrifically successful in every way. I love Neil, and say to do it.
  15. The band played their last show five years ago. They were still playing well, but they were clearly nearing the end of their run (and what a run it was). Five years is a long time, especially at their age. I wouldn't even look for a one-off show from them at this point. Besides, I'm pretty sure Gemini is trolling us with this topic, so we may as well bow out at this point. Not trolling, I assure!
  16. First Rush 8-track for me in 1979. Never heard anything like them before. Knew this was a very special band!
  17. Lets say you attended a Rock Awards event that, in part, honoured Alex under the category of most underrated rhythm guitarist. After the pretentious and drawn-out ceremony, you get a drink at the VIP bar with the other guests in an intimate setting. Curiously, you notice Maple leaf and Fleur-de-lis brooches on many of the guests, and fail to make the connection between plants and a rock awards ceremony. After a few moments, you look to your left and are quite surprised to see Alex Lifeson standing there, ordering a 1 litre box of wine. You waste no time and spontaneously blurt out "Hello Mr. Lifeson!" He turns, looks at you, smiles and says "Um, hello, eh". "I admire your choice of beverage..... but why boxed wine?", you say. "Well, I dont harbour any ill-will towards bottled wine, but just doing my part to minimize its carbon footprint. Plus its lighter, more economic to me, and preserves the flavours, as its hermetically-sealed in an anoxic environment". "Well, that's very respectable and earth-responsible of you". "Thanks. Just doing my part to save Terra Mater" "Well, I just really wanted to say that i love your work in much of the vast Rush encyclopedia. I know you take a lot of heat for some of the chords or riffs you seemingly have "slept on", as the experts say, on the interwebs. BUT, we both know most of them are just trolls like, for instance, that Gemini-ass on TRF". "I honestly think some of those guys are the Van Halens. They've been assholes to us because we don't sing about chicks. They think we're effiminate". He then takes a vigourous sip through the straw, looks inquisitively at you and says "If you could critique the architecture, cords, or riffs of any song or album of mine, which of them would you choose, and why?"
  18. Hiya, Gem! Maybe I have you confused with another member, but I thought you were the one who was mad at Neil because he either ran away from you, or wasn't nice to you, or hid somewhere, when you approached him? Hiya Lorraine! There was a time he blew past me on his bmw, as going to backstage parking. Was just standing there, leaning against my Suzuki Hayabusa. Didnt even get a nod. Crazy timing to see him and his security friend racing into the venue. Did not expect. I do admit to feeling the pain of being ignored.
  19. Met him in an intimate setting the night after first of 2 shows at the Watergate hotel, in DC, May 1981. He was all smiles, as were the other two. Was really surreal and exciting. Had only ever saw them on album covers and magazines before. Wanted to go pass out somewhere after that.
