  1. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Sep 1 2012, 10:12 AM) At this time next week we'll know what the setlist is ....and my ears will still be ringing!
  2. It is indeed Gump! The riser is going to be behind Neils kit to allow for access on and off the stage.

  4. I'll have select video from the night. I do a decent job...
  5. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Aug 28 2012, 11:23 AM) We'll hear something soon. In minutes, maybe. Are your spider senses acting up??
  6. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Aug 27 2012, 09:28 PM) QUOTE (shail @ Aug 27 2012, 03:18 PM) Lots of different time signatures in the song near the end. Every other measure is a different time sig. Recipe for disaster live. They won play that song live ever. Easy to get lost at their age in that tune. You're kidding, right? Seriously....you ARE kidding....right? I doubt two alternating time sigs will give them too much trouble in a song that they wrote. They don't even recognize time signatures in a song like JL........It's all feel at this point. I'm pretty sure they can pull it off in their sleep.... let alone the lighted stage!
  7. QUOTE (USB Connector @ Aug 27 2012, 08:51 PM) QUOTE (theprestobunnies @ Aug 27 2012, 09:12 PM) I think a key difference though was that for Time Machine, it was announced far in advance they would be playing all of Moving Pictures, which was confirmation for The Camera Eye. That was a big deal. This tour we haven't really had anything epic confirmed yet. Yes, they are probably 99.9% likely to play Headlong Flight and Clockwork Angels, among other CA songs, which will be epic......its just nice to hear some official word. Your average Joe has NO idea there will actually be a string section yet. Anyway.....looking forward to hearing what the setlist is! I'm sure they will deliver as always, its just that there's so many possibilities with this band with their huge catalog of music! To be fair, we're not even 100% sure there will be a strings section. We just know they were considering it. No, it's 100%.....done deal!
  8. QUOTE (Tombstone Mountain @ Aug 27 2012, 02:30 PM) QUOTE (bigalfan @ Aug 27 2012, 02:26 PM) I know you're working hard - appreciate all you do - but please, back the volume knobs off just a tad bit...say maybe to a 8.75 instead of an 11 for this tour. Saw 'The Wall' over the summer, it sounded GREAT! The key? They backed off the LOUD factor just a tad. Proof positive you don't HAVE to be at an 11 for an arena concert, as a matter of fact, it's preferable. So, please...please...know when to say when with the volume. That is all. Thank you for your time...not that you'll ever see this, but it feels good just to say it. Howard does the lights FYI ...and the bartending, and is just an all around good guy!
  9. QUOTE (Brava Doh! @ Aug 27 2012, 12:59 PM) QUOTE (hermy @ Aug 27 2012, 12:24 PM) With opening night next Friday they will have to load out of the warehouse by this Sunday or so. That leaves them just a few days left. Everything is set and not a peep from anyone. Well done in this day and age. Impressive indeed. Is the Manchester Venue the type that someone is likely to be able to hear the dress rehearsal from outside the venue the day before? 'cause that's what it looks like we're down to waiting on... i'll be there all Friday listening for anything but I've never been there so I can't comment on the building itself.

  11. Available Light is an amazing song but feels thin on the Presto album.....as do all the songs IMO. I think hearing it live filled out with strings, piano, a heavier drum kit, and an aged voice from Ged would make the show for me.

Although it would be cool if they brought back the Kimonos, there is no proof that it is true. There is too a photo. There is a photo, but it's a fake. The Mighty Dudad very effectively provided proof: http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?show...dpost&p=2717482 And Tombstone, if the orchestra members really were wearing kimonos, this topic title would be a spoiler, visible from the main page. Just saying, in case you come across an actual spoiler down the road. It took him longer to do the research than it took me to make it. Nice work, by the way. The double neck pic screamed FAKE at me because it had too many red flags for me as a guitar player, but the kimono one was nicely done. Yes, the guitar was pretty apparent. I like the bass one that I've seen with Geddy and the 4-neck Ric (how could he even reach that?!?) - very Spinal Tap and easily picked up by the knowledgeable eye. I still think the kimono is very cool tough, fake or not. hermy, ever consider a career in fashion design? You have a really good eye! Heck ya....getting these beauties made up as we speak: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d153/avplanners/tshirt3.jpg

  14. Susan Kim of the Windermere String Quartet out of Toronto models the Steampunk Kimono. Six violin and two cello players will accompany Canadian rock band Rush on their Clockwork Angels Tour. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d153/avplanners/SteamKimono.jpg
  15. ....and Tombstone, I understand your crack team of reporters was able to get to the bottom of Live Nation's VIP ticket process. This picture was just leaked to me and it's pretty astonishing how the tickets are picked: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d153/avplanners/VIPLINKO.png

  17. ...and in other "news" Alex Lifeson seen with prototype Les Paul Axcess Double Neck in CA rehearsals. He was so impressed with Geddy playing the Nashville tuned guitar in the studio that he wanted to make sure he had that sound available at any time on the bottom six. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d153/avplanners/bigal.jpg

  21. I offered to do it opening night but the Mod's didn't appear interested.
  22. QUOTE (deathlikesilence @ Jul 25 2012, 12:09 PM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Jul 24 2012, 10:43 PM) Nope! This is CA's time to shine, but it might be very possible for R40. Hell, R40 might ahve all of 2112 in its entirety. i wouldnt get my hopes up for R40 There will be no "R40" That has and always will be a fan generated term.
  23. QUOTE (sdhonda @ Jul 23 2012, 09:33 PM) Given the expense of bringing these guys on for (presumably) the whole tour, why does everyone assume they'll only play for 6 (or 4 or 7 or whatever) songs? Chances are, they will be playing on at least half the songs throughout the entire show. I'll take that bet...... I gladly take Paypal!
  24. Available Light needs it's time in the sun!
