QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Dec 9 2008, 12:06 PM) I'm going to do it. I just checked out of the library a single volume containing the first three novels - well over 1000 pages.
After this, there's a second volume containing the last four novels.
I must be psycho.Go for it!
I read all the the D'Artagnan Romances straight through this year (The Three Musketeers/Twenty Years Later/Vicomte de Bragelonne/Louise de la Valliere/The Man in the Iron Mask). All in all, I think about a couple thousand pages. It's a challenge, but I think it's well worth it to read everything straight through.

I had the best concert year EVER this year!
Rush: 7/2 in Pittsburgh (8th row center)
Neil Diamond: 8/18 in Pittsburgh
The Who: 11/3 in Washington DC (15th row almost center)
The Eagles: 11/21 in Pittsburgh
Brian Wilson: 11/22 in Glenside, PA (outside Philly)
All were phenomenal shows and I would go see them again in a heartbeat, no matter what the cost or how far I have to travel. Great set lists and everyone sounded at the top of their game. I don't think I'll ever have a year like this ever again.

November 3rd: The Who (Washington DC)
November 21st: The Eagles (Pittsburgh, PA)
November 22nd: Brian Wilson (Glenside, PA)

QUOTE (Lerxster @ Aug 22 2008, 05:40 PM) QUOTE (Jen Sawyer @ Aug 22 2008, 12:51 PM) I'll probably never grow it long ever again. Probably eh? So you might then
Haha! Yeah, never say never, Lerxster!
But really, I have no time or patience to blow dry/curl/braid, etc. a whole mess of hair. Plus, I can't stand the feeling of having hair creeping down the back of my neck when it starts to grow out. It would take me forever to grow it out and the in-between stage would really suck.
My hair takes me 5-10 minutes to do each day, if that.
It's weird... I get random compliments on my hair... mostly from guys! I never get, hey nice legs, nice ass, nice whatever. I get, nice hair!
-
It all depends on the guy, but I love long hair on guys.
As a girl with short hair, I much prefer having short hair than long hair. I'll probably never grow it long ever again.

Anybody going to tonight's game? I'll be there celebrating my birthday! Woo hoo! Let's go Steelers!

I saw The Dark Knight last night at the drive-in. It was really excellent. Heath definitely stole the show as the Joker. I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

Neil Diamond - August 18th in Pittsburgh
The Who - November 3rd in Washington, D.C.

Wall-E was very adorable and heart-warming. I admit I shed a few tears towards the end! I'm planning on going to see it again... probably at the drive-in.

I get blonde highlights every other haircut. My hair is pretty light to begin with, so I can let it go for a while and the roots aren't noticeable.

QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Mar 7 2008, 01:12 PM) QUOTE (Janie @ Mar 7 2008, 06:57 AM) QUOTE (Jen Sawyer @ Mar 6 2008, 08:59 PM) The Masked Rider Would love to hear your opinion on this book when you're done. Seems like people either like it or hate it. I absolutely loved Ghost Rider and enjoyed Neil's writing style. I'm curious if The Masked Rider is similar. I know it's about cycling in West Africa so I'm expecting a lot of scenic, nature, culture descriptions and epiphany-type moments.
I loved The Masked Rider. I read it after Ghost Rider and found it unique and interesting to have an insight into pre-tragedy Neil. It's a great book with lots of funny and interesting stories about his cycling trip.
You bet! I'll let you guys know what I think. It does seem like TMR is the least liked of Neil's books.
I'm about 100 pages in so far... I read the other three and really loved them. I'll post reviews after I finish.

QUOTE (PassTheAmmunition @ Feb 12 2008, 04:26 PM) QUOTE (jkt2112 @ Feb 12 2008, 03:22 PM) The Steelers have decided to keep natural grass in Heinz Field.
I think that is a mistake. With the advances in turf these days, they should have made the change. The field conditions at the end of the season were horrendous.
STEELERS RULE!!!Keep in mind, the torrential rain they had for those two games was compounded by field tarps that leaked at the seams, and it was an anomaly more than the norm for Pittsburgh. The field gets too much play during the season from teams other than the Steelers and thats where they really need to look at the maintenance and upkeep costs and make a decision based on where the priority should be. I say that the Steelers should own that space from Sept - Jan every season and the other games should really be a secondary consideration.
I'm glad they are sticking with grass. Turf is for pansies.
They shouldn't have to share it with Pitt. Pitt needs to get their own freaking field.
Definitely keep the real thing. Real men play on grass... and in the elements, not under a dome!
