  8. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Aug 1 2006, 12:43 AM) The CD Roger The Engineer is a MUST OWN! Over Under Sideways Down is a great song, as is Shape of Things, For Your Love and Happening Ten Years Time Ago - ALL classics. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y268/rushgoober/rushgoober3/rushgoober4/roger.jpg This album does not contain all four songs I just mentioned, only two, but it's a great album I'll have to get some of their albums on vinyl...maybe this weekend

  16. QUOTE (Disco @ Jun 6 2006, 04:51 PM) Well, I gave them a whirl and I'm sure it's all brilliant. But it's just a bit much for me. If you've got the time to really listen and digest this stuff I'm sure surfing along with the relentless waves of complexity is the bees knees. If you don't keep up though all that music just comes crashing down on you. It's a long way from my usual ambient listening (Harold Budd's on now). Love to all Disco That pretty much says it all for me.
  17. What does everyone else think? Do you listen to them? Like them? Compared to Rush?
  18. I like Three Days Grace....*for a radio band* plus my friend found them and got them a record so thats cool and I respect her scouting Take a look....this is what I found on Futureshop... Notes: Three Days Grace: Adam, Neil, Brad. Recorded at Longview Farm Studios, North Brookfield, Massachusetts; Bearsville Studios, Woodstock, New York; Vespa Studios and A Room Full Of Stuff Studios, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. When it comes to heavy-metal lyrics, historically there have been but a few options. If one isn't inclined to go the ever popular, Iron Maiden-approved demons and wizards route, he or she is really only left with Kiss-style macho chest-pounding, or bleak alienation of the type perfected by Metallica. With its self-titled U.S. debut album, THREE DAYS GRACE manages to add a fourth option by combining ultra-stripped-down, de-tuned monster riffs in the very best Black Sabbath/Melvins tradition with emo-esque, heart-on-the-sleeve, diary-like poetry worthy of a Deep Elm Records release. In addition, these north-of-the-border boys add a snap-tight, chorus pedal-heavy production sheen that recalls the greatest of all Canadian hard-rock trios, Rush (particularly that band's excellent, but oft-overlooked, 1990s albums COUNTERPARTS and TEST FOR ECHO). By combining the best elements of metal and emo, two often-opposing genres, THREE DAYS GRACE breathe new life into both styles. http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetai...ogon=&langid=EN

QUOTE (floydfanatic111 @ May 20 2006, 11:02 PM) QUOTE (D-13 @ May 20 2006, 09:50 PM) QUOTE (floydfanatic111 @ May 20 2006, 08:13 PM) QUOTE (D-13 @ May 18 2006, 10:08 PM) The reason behind the song Barracuda http://youtube.com/watch?v=Mx721PLMb6A&search=VH1%20heart According to the Wilson sisters, Barracuda got its riff pattern from Beggars Day by Nazareth and Achilles Last Stand by Zep. from behind the scenes right? (btw does ANYONE have this on tape or something?! I can't find it and it's never on TV!!!) I heard that also Nazareth stormed into Hearts dressing room after the show complaining they stole the riff for Barracuda ...Nancy said..."hey man, no we didn't...we ripped it off of Led Zeppelin!" Then apprently they were cool with that hahaha It was on In The Studio for when they spotlighted Little Queen and Dog And Butterfly that I heard the tale. Barracuda lent more to Achilles Last Stand structurewise than Beggars Day IMHO. Achilles though was ten plus minutes. cool!

  23. QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ May 20 2006, 04:41 PM) Regarding the protesters, I guess they have a right to protest the movie and, as a Christian myself, can understand the concept of blasphemy and why it would be disturbing. However, it would be better for them to realize that it is indeed a work of Hollywood fiction (garbage, in this particular case) and that whatever folks buy into the story are the same ones who check out the weekly Star or Enquirer. Instead of purchasing an already expensive ticket, use the money for the collection plate at church. At least the money will go somewhere more useful. garbage?
