  1. ZZ Top April 18 in College station Rush on the 20th, 23rd, and 25th What a week....
  2. QUOTE (Fridge @ Feb 3 2008, 01:54 PM) Oh, here's another peeve of mine: British people who use American slang whilst talking or writing. I have absolutely nothing against Americans using their own slang as is right and proper, but we have our own rich language and plenty of slang of our own without having to borrow anyone else's On that note, I wish more British phrases and especially the spelling would be used more in America. I just like it better.
  3. I didn't have fun at our game against OU just a minute ago!
  4. Trying to make sure I can pass this physics class* *See Also: My thoughts on Isaac Newton in the "What pissed you off today" thread.
  5. I jammed with Ged and Alex in the 80's.
  6. Getting tailgated because apparently 70 MPH in a 65 isn't fast enough for these East Texas drivers.
  7. I just bought Grace by Jeff Buckley, and was rather unimpressed. I bought it because of Neil, so I guess it's worth a couple more listens. Neu! is in the mail and should be here tomorrow. Can't wait for that.
  8. QUOTE (workingcinderellaman @ Jan 28 2008, 08:58 AM) I hate people who text during a movie. It's so distracting if they're in front of you and they open up their phone to text and that bright blue light comes on. Why do they have to text in the middle of a movie anyway? Better than answering the phone in that semi-whisper "Hey I'm in a movie, let me call you back" Mine is noisy eaters and being touched on the collar bone. I honestly have no idea why, I just can't have any hand that aren't mine around there.
  9. I didn't post this just to boost my post count... just like most of yall.
  10. QUOTE (The Owl @ Jan 24 2008, 09:05 AM) I just bought "Live at Boudokan", and finished listening to it. It rocks That is one thing I like about Dream Theater, in regards to live albums. Each is unique Live at the Marquee is completly diffrent from "Once in a Live Time" diffrent from "Scenes Live In New York" from "Boudokan" from "Score" So far my faviorate live album is "Score". But I admit I still have to get "Once in a live time" and "Live at the Marquee" Budokan is my favorite of the live albums. The DVD is also just mind-blowing. I pulled it back out the other day and have been on a HUGE DT kick the past week or so.
  11. In this violent sea- Lost without a trace The ebb and flow of tidal fortune- A danger I'm prepared to face I've been gone so long Time and Man alone This manic depressive Finding my way back home A thousand years have come and gone Any day now for sure Running on empty More than a man can endure Leaving my homeland, Eyes cast down On the western shore Where the sun will rise no more...
  12. 37 and rainy here... good day to be inside
  13. I enjoyed sitting through a physics lecture at 8 in the friggin morning.
  14. Had to go with Home on the Strange, though it was a hard choice. I love how it grooves.
  15. Any of those bands who just growl/scream grind the nerves in my neck. I vote for all of those guys for worst "singers."
  16. In Losing It, by the time "The flooding through her memory, The echoes of old applause." I'm usually moved. It reminds me of my last "real" basketball game. I was on varsity in high school, but wasn't good enough to go on to play college ball (at least in a school worth getting an education from, which was really the prime objective). Intramurals just aren't the same as having a whole school hollering for you. In OLV, "a spirit breaking free." Self-explanatory. Mission- Final solo! Ghost Rider- makes me feel for Neil Afterimage- Self-explanatory. Plenty more moving pieces, but those are the first few that came to mind.
  17. Got a Mel Brooks box set with a coupon and gift cards. It has 9 movies, only 1 of which (Blazing Saddles) I already owned. It's an AWESOME collection. I really love History of the World Pt. 1.
  18. I have a man-crush on Geddy. I wish the foot-size thing was true. The first time I heard the song "Serenity," which wasn't very long ago, I thought of Neil. Then, sure enough, Godsmack says it's about Ghost Rider. This leads to my 3rd fact- I should start a TV Psychic Hotline.
  19. haven't felt well all day, plus work. not a good combo, but we had a good listen to PoW in the chat tonight
  20. My aunt told me this one: She was taking my cousin, 5 at the time and is 6 now, shopping for his dad's present at Best Buy. She let him talk to the sales associate there, who was shocked to hear this 5-year-old say, "I want a CD with Subdivisions, One Little Victory, and the Drum Solo on it!" It's amazing how much he loves Rush and Dream Theater.
  21. i just went all the way through. man those were hard, and thinking back, i figure i could have put some other songs. Rush is just too damn good
  22. I'm going down through the albums in order, and it gets harder to pick every time. I'm completely stuck on this one. I'll have to go with Limelight because it is the fist song I saw Rush perform live, so it has an incredible significance for me.
