  2. Hi friends, been a long time since i've posted on here. I wouldn't mind either way. I think to go with the theme of "Time Machine" they shouldn't. It's an exciting concept and i would much rather hear something from FBN or something from the "future"
  3. i thought it was a great movie. not very conventional at all with how it all ends. Rourke was amazing, he actually looked like he could've been "real" wrestler from the 80's
  4. QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Jan 15 2009, 06:23 PM) QUOTE (mrbarlint @ Jan 15 2009, 01:03 PM) Just watched this on DVD and really ejoyed it. Pretty unsettling situation. I thought it was ok........the first half was pretty good and scary, and then it took a bit of a turn for the worst and became very unbelieveable.......5/10. agreed, the first half was very unsettling...after awhile i just wanted them to kill them and get if over with.
  5. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Dec 12 2008, 05:12 PM) QUOTE (theredtamasrule @ Dec 12 2008, 05:56 PM) He's The Dark Knight, not The Caped Kisseyface. The movies will be better off without a love interest for Bruce Wayne IMO. It's too hollywood formula and stale. Wayne is most likely a psychopath who keeps very odd hours...he ain't no family man. Her death scene was powerful and showed that no one was safe in the movie. Loved it. Ditto to all that and Rachel's death will scar him even more and cement in his mind how it's dangerous to get too close to anyone, thus making the character a bit sadder and a bit darker. Plus, Maggie Gyllenhall is just butt hair-ugly and I'm glad I won't have to be looking at her in Batman 3 if it's ever made. ahhahahahaha agreed...she is hideous
  6. the first preview didnt do much for me but this one looks amazing. its gonna be hard to top CR but its gonna be great
  7. the episode where they get ninja weapons and they through a star in butters eye and they have to take him to the vet, Classic. also, oprah's minge episode was great. overall a very good show i think i can count on one hand the number of not great episodes they've had throughout all the seasons
  8. Iron Man- 4.5/5 The Incredible Hulk- 0.5/5 Wanted- 3.5/5 Wall-E- 5/5- great touching movie with a very real satirical message
  9. The Hulk- F------- worst movie ive seen since spider man 3. liv tyler is a terrible actress, william hurt was unusually bad in this movie, edward norton should be ashamed that he was in a movie with such a bad script. the graphics were cheesy aswell as all the "fight" scenes...i think there might have been 3. terrible movie. too bad the happening was all sold out
  10. QUOTE (Sticklah @ Mar 25 2008, 10:05 AM) I know a lot of you are going to kill me for this but I really do hate family guy. The jokes half the time fall flat or are dragged out so long they loose what likke funnyness they had to begin with. And the whole "let's stretch something out so long its funny joke is just annoying. Now I'll admit seasons One/Two were watchable but past that the repetitive nature and recycling of jokes just made me want to die. I walk out of the room if someone is watching it now. agreed...the first 3 seasons were great...then they started to get real old so now i cant even watch the first 3 seasons. Joke. 5 minutes of story. Hey brian, remember that time (insert 5 minute joke/flashback here). 2 minutes of story. OH and that one time (insert 10 minute KISS joke here) (Chris) WOW DAD! Im Fat...then a meg looks like a guy joke. credits. stewies the only one that makes me laugh anymore. good post
  11. QUOTE (Mandalorian Hunter @ Feb 17 2008, 04:02 PM) Tom, there's also a thing called decency. Using a sexuality to be the butt of your jokes will always be frowned upon. Anyway, I haven't really got into him that much, any recommendations from anyone? Goodbye Yellow Brick Road or Captian Fantastic as starters then move on to less accessible albums (but just as great) Honky Chateu, Madman Across the Water, or Tumbleweed Connection....Don't Shoot Me Shoot Me Im Only The Piano Player is great too but not on par with the above 5. but if you're not sure that you'll like him then i would just go with his first Greatest Hits album, which is if im not mistaken one of the top selling greatest hits albums of all time. hope i helped. im kinda an Elton dork my mom got me hooked on him since i was 5.
  12. QUOTE (launchpad67a @ Feb 15 2008, 12:52 AM) I still want to know why the "gay" (sexuality) thing came up. I can't find a post where anyone said this. Elton is one of the finest songwriters of our time. Remember, a well written song is a well written song. Regardless of who wrote it. But then again this is the Rush Forum, where most people are blind to good songwriting by anyone other than Rush. Understandable I guess, but not excusable. I appreciate someone who writes "I admire his songwriting but I don't like his music". As opposed to "he sucks now and his only good songs were in the 70's". Come on... He writes with much more passion now than he ever did. In the 70's they were rock songs, now they actually have tons of feeling. Oh yea feeling, what's that in todays music. Very few artists write with any emotion anymore, at least not like Elton does. his music from the eighties and nineties stuff was nowhere near as good as his seventies stuff. i do give you that it was a different style of music he was creating but since Taupin wasnt there the lyrics seemed to lack. His past 4 albums have been fantastic. He is my favorite "solo" artist of all time so i am by no means saying his stuff is pure crap, thank you.
  13. QUOTE (Rand @ Feb 12 2008, 05:40 PM) I think it was Bernie Taupin who co-wrote all the good songs with Elton. Elton alone is crap. taupin wrote, if not all of his seventies lyrics. he left in the eighties and they just recently reformed i believe. elton wrote all the music and in my opinion the music is what makes the lyrics work, so alone elton john is not crap..... i guess i shoulda figured that this would happen, but why do people have to bring his sexuallity into a topic about his music? pure ignorance
  14. i love the hell outta good ol' elton. his 70s stuff is excellent. 80s through 90s is kinda hit and miss but still good. now that he's kinda goin back to his roots, he's puting out grade A material all over again. He's probably my favorite solo artist of all time. i was just wondering what everybody thought of sir elton? ps tiny dancer is the crap!
  15. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Feb 8 2008, 04:08 PM) Speaking about Aerosmith and Steven Tyler, whose voice I do like. That song "DUDE LOOKS LIKE A LADY" was written because of the way Sebastian Bach looked back then. Damn I miss SKID ROW with Bach on vocals. I wish there would be a reunion. Oh well! ROCK ON! i thought it was vince neil? the story i heard was steven and joe were in a bar and vince neil was there and steven thought he was a hot chick from far away....i could very well be wrong but i thought thats what i heard on vh1 sometime ago
  16. stand by me, lost in translation, the girl next door, garden state, any star wars, shawshank redemption, dazed and confused, almost famous...many..many more
  17. American Beauty...one of my favorites. so depressing, so realistic
  18. i liked two of his, Signs and The Lady In The Water i never saw Sixth Sense because the ending was spoiled for me and I dont remember much of Unbreakable because i was kinda young when i saw it. i might check it out someday. Village coulda been good if it was marketed differently, not as a scary movie. i went expecting to be scared $h!tless like signs...turns out, no. Im looking forward to the happening but i dont have any idea what its about. Anybody?
  19. http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh310/TheAnalogKid86/sleepingler.jpg thats lerxst....yes i named him after alex...i figure i better get it out of the way so i can name my kid Geddy... ;)kidding
  20. ive seen bits of the first one and what i saw was great. i love the second one, there are so many lmao moments in the movie... most of them include randal. Pillow pants, the donkey show, the handicapped discussion aswell was the "retard strong" comment. Gold. its also got a pretty good story to it as well. I always hated the song "ABC" by jackson 5 but now i kinda like it. I should probably get to watching the first in its entirety
  21. QUOTE (The Owl @ Jan 20 2008, 02:27 PM) Did anyone else notice, how the video was flashing back to 1 month previous, with the date at Coney Island? The last time it does this, right at the very end you can see (far in the distant background) "something" falling out of the sky and splashing unnoticed. Am I the only one who saw that? OMG! i was just gonna ask that...i didnt see it but ive heard that something did fall out of the sky. Which part of the screen should i be looking at when i see it for the third time so i make sure i see it??? The movie was awesome. i left the movie feeling really uneasy, not because i was scared but the ended was so good it made me feel that way. The acting was surprisingly good, it made you feel like these people were actually real so kudos to that. i think the little ones creeped me out at the most but the biggest shock was the first "money shot at the end...if you've seen it you know what im talking about if you havent prepare to be paralized for a good 5 minutes. everybody should go see this movie, it delivers on so many levels emotionally, shock value, humor, and action. "im just saying wouldnt it be freaky if a flaming homeless guy jumped out right now"
  22. i voted the second one because i own all their stuff except for alexs solo but i dont know all the songs by heart like im sure most of you do. Plus my music collection is way to big for me to say that im 100% devoted to rush...more like 95%
  23. i just saw this movie a couple of days ago. i was really surprised because it ended up being the best movie ive seen in theaters in the past three years. I really liked Batemans character, the husband of jennifer gardner. I found his story to be kinda tragic in that his wife kinda controls him and has burried his dream. My g/f thought he was a perve but i didnt think so. i thought he liked Juno because she was so much like him, not in the sexual way. ANYWAYS, great flick everybody should see it.
