  1. QUOTE (BethOfSyrinx @ Oct 7 2011, 01:23 PM)Applebloom is the best Cutie Mark Crusader. Bullshit. Scootaloo is obviously best Cutie Mark Crusader.
  2. I know it's like The Onion but they got something wrong: "Even the band's name is taken to task. It's described as 'an acronym for Bestowing, Lust, Incest, Necrophilia, and Kool-aid.'" It actually stands for "boys lusting incredibly naked kids".
  3. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Jul 25 2011, 06:10 PM) Never read the books, but love the movies. Haters gonna hate... This explains so much, and yet so little. I blame the LSD.
  4. >mystic rhythms >best song ever Silly anon, that's not how you spell "Middletown Dreams".
  5. QUOTE (An Enemy Without @ Jul 30 2011, 12:01 AM) I hate it and I didn't even listen to it. So you loved it, then?
  6. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Jul 29 2011, 09:58 AM)Where's the option for "I wasn't aware Blink 182 was still an active band" at? I would laugh, but your opinion is valid since blink were on hiatus from 2005 through early 2009, then haven't really done anything since then asides from two tours and work on this new record.
  7. I've been kinda confused about this, and I wanted to say thanks for all the radio shows over the years. I know I haven't been active in chat recently (or on this forum, for that matter), but it honestly sucks that it's going to end. Good luck with whatever happens next, hopefully you're able to get back on the air to share the magic of prog and psychedelia with TRF Next week, drink a tall glass of cerebrospinal fluid for all of us
  8. And FWIW, I like the song. Can't say it's mindblowing, but it's nice to hear Tom actually playing a guitar riff in a song, and I'm so glad that it doesn't sound like their older stuff. I have a feeling that the rest of the album is going to be better than this, though.
  9. QUOTE (bigmoney2112 @ Jul 26 2011, 12:17 PM)QUOTE (metaldad @ Jul 26 2011, 11:46 AM) The worlds most overrated drummer, bar none. "Hey, instead of listening to the song, let's make fun of the drummer! HURR" I'm not gonna try and get into a drumming argument since I don't play drums, but can you at least give the guy credit for coming back and doing this after being severely burned in that plane crash? Personally, I think that warrants a bit of attention.
  10. QUOTE (Akron162 @ Jul 27 2011, 12:12 AM) i wouldnt call this progressive even by mistake. i hate pop rock, so, by extension, i hate this song You've got quite a hard-on for prog, don't you?
  11. Happy music with sad lyrics? See: a shitload of songs by Morrissey.
  12. QUOTE (priest_of_syrinx @ Jul 27 2011, 01:01 AM)"Motion Picture Soundtrack" by Radiohead Red wine and sleeping pills Help me get back to your arms Cheap sex and sad films Help me get where I belong I think you're crazy, maybe I think you're crazy, maybe Stop sending letters Letters always get burned It's not like the movies They fed us on little white lies I think you're crazy, maybe I think you're crazy, maybe I will see you in the next life Ohhhh, that's what Thom says in that song.
  13. I choose ponies. http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn207/Xanadu93/twilightumad.jpg
  14. The 'Cutie Mark Crusaders Theme' from My Little Pony. basically, my song > your song
  15. Oh, and FWIW... Origin > Black Holes > Abso = Showbiz = The Resistance I had been hating on how "pop" The Resistance is, but a few listens recently have changed that. It hasn't suddenly become my favorite, but it's a very good record. I think the only let-downs are "Guiding Light" and the French part on "I Belong to You" (and maybe "Undisclosed Desires", but it's actually okay), but otherwise it's a solid album.
  16. QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Jul 19 2011, 07:53 PM)So far, I've heard the last 3 albums. >heard the last 3 albums >last 3 albums >missing Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry Son, you best go out and pick those two up, assuming they're in stores. If not, download them. Origin owns.
  17. I honestly can't recall that many Genesis songs by title off the top of my head, but I think my list would consist of songs from Trick and Duke, "I Know What I Like" (which IIRC was the first non-radio Genesis song I heard), and "The Knife".
  18. I don't know if I talked about the Rush show I saw last month, but there are a few things that made this show great: 1. It was indoors. 2. It was indoors. 3. It was indoors. 4. It was indoors. 5. This was the best performance by Rush I have seen. 5. The bass in the arena was amazing - the floor literally shook during the Oberheim growls in Tom Sawyer. So yeah, indoors Rush beats other Rush, especially when you live in the South and they play amphitheatres in the heat of June and July.
  19. QUOTE (D3strukt @ Jul 7 2011, 02:06 PM)Why are we being cancer? Why? We're killing /b/ But I thought /b/ was cancer...
  20. Still seriously considering seeing blink-182 and My Chemical Romance in Tampa in September with my friend. She's up for it, I'm up for it, now if I can get time off from work and persuade her parents and my parents that we'll both come back alive and well, we're gonna try it.
  21. The music from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is fukken awesome, and the fan remixes of these songs are also awesome.
  22. QUOTE (fledgehog @ Jun 26 2011, 04:42 PM) QUOTE (garbo @ Jun 25 2011, 11:10 AM) My friend made me a free copy of "Born This Way" by Lady GaGa (I'm ashamed, but he wanted me to listen to it. WHY?! I don't know) it's catchy. doesn't really have much in the way of musical or artistic value, but it'll get your head nodding even if you hate it. Er... not for me. And I listened to the album with an open mind.
  23. Rush My Chemical Romance Radiohead Yes blink-182 Morrissey Green Day +44 Muse U2 The Smiths Lupe Fiasco Coldplay Big & Rich Fall Out Boy The Decemberists Garbage Panic! At the Disco My Bloody Valentine The White Stripes And many more that I can't think of off the top of my head.
  24. While on my recent trip, I stopped by a few stores and got all of these. Brad Paisley - This is Country Music Morrissey - Southpaw Grammar Public Image Ltd - The Greatest Hits So Far I also got a 7" vinyl single of Morrissey's "First of the Gang to Die".
  25. The lone classic rock station here (loved by rednecks and dadrockers, the only two groups dumb enough to NOT buy a stereo with a CD player/auxiliary port) has resorted to playing "new" music - meaning Pearl Jam and Soundgarden - because many longtime listeners, such as myself, simply do not give a shit about it anymore. I love having a car with an auxiliary plug-in
