  1. QUOTE (CrossedSignals @ May 3 2012, 11:17 AM) QUOTE (Del_Duio @ May 3 2012, 12:07 PM) QUOTE (GeddyLeefan2112 @ May 3 2012, 10:49 AM) I don't know if I would say its better than The Dark Knight, but its certainly better than the rest. It is without a doubt an amazing movie. I saw it because I work at a movie theatre. The General Manager screened it while I was working. He came out and said to me "I just want to warn you, probably the best movie I've ever seen." It is just that good. That's awesome! I think half the thing about Iron Man is that I went into that movie not expecting much and was blown away by all the great acting. A lot of movies seem to put CGI & crappy 'too close to see what's going on' action above acting and a great story. Would you say there's a lot of great acting in this movie too? I mean, aside from Robert Downey Jr? That's exactly how I felt about Iron Man.... I think Robert Downey, Jr. automatically ups the enjoyability of any movie he graces his presence with, no matter how bad (not that Iron Man was bad). Sherlock Holmes (the first remake.... haven't seen the sequel and don't want to) sucked big-time, but Downey made the experience tolerable (despite being horribly miscast as Holmes). I loved the sequel to Sherlock Holmes. I remember the first one being 'okay'. I just love Robert Downey Jr... but I have certain expectations when it comes to superhero movies. I felt that Iron Man would have been better served being renamed Tony Stark. In any rate, I have the poster to Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows hanging above my bed. Another perk of working at a movie theatre.

  3. QUOTE (danielmclark @ May 3 2012, 07:30 AM) QUOTE (GeddyLeefan2112 @ May 2 2012, 10:53 PM) QUOTE (danielmclark @ May 2 2012, 09:38 AM) QUOTE (GeddyLeefan2112 @ May 1 2012, 08:27 PM) I'm not saying "go her! awesome!" She's also an idiot for ruining her career and going to prison over something so stupid. Also you have to be a pretty sick person to just lose it and pull every single tooth. I'm just saying, I have no sympathy for the dude either. No sympathy for the guy? There's *nothing* else known about the story - we don't know if he beat her, we don't know if he was the greatest guy ever. We don't know if she cheated on him and he found out, leading to him dumping her for someone else. We don't know who was to blame in the ending of the relationship other than he was the one that broke it off. So, in the absence of any other information, the only thing we know for sure is that this guy made an error in judgment about his ex being able to maintain her professionalism - heck, for all he knew, maybe she was fine with the breakup. Maybe she acted all cool and aloof at the time and there was no giant fight that would have raised a red flag to him. In the absence of any other information, the only mistake this guy made was walking into a dentist's office. And for that, he deserves to have all his teeth removed? I have a tremendous amount of sympathy for the guy. Maybe if something comes to light, like he used to beat her or something, I'll have less. But right now, the only thing he appears to be guilty of is misjudging his obviously psycho ex-girlfriend. When did I ever say that he deserved it? I just said I have no sympathy for him. The dude already had a new girl who dumped him for not having all his teeth...so he had a new girl and went to the chick he dumped days later...to do mouth surgery on him. Sorry but when you're that stupid, you're kind of asking for it. Is it really that hard to find a dentist whom you haven't slept with recently? EDIT: And as for trusting people, just don't. Especially not someone you've slighted recently. Everything you're saying boils down to "he deserved it". Can't you see that? Your entire premise is that because he was so stupid, he got what he deserved, because (in your words) he was asking for it. We don't know anything else about the situation, so the only logical conclusion that can be drawn is that the only mistake he made was misjudging this psychotic woman. He thought, for whatever reason (like I said earlier) that he would be safe going to her for dental care. He thought that she could be a professional. Turns out, not so much. My whole premise is that he was really really stupid to go to a woman he just broke up with for another girl DAYS BEFORE to get mouth surgery, and that fact makes it really hard for me to sympathize with the guy. I mean it just kind of screams douchebag. Why would you want to even see someone you just broke up with...especially when you already have a new girlfriend? That would be the most awkward thing ever...and then to top it all off she gets to put you under. Yeah. Totally sound decision there. I kind of resent the fact that you think I'm saying he deserved this to happen to him because for f**k's sake he got all his teeth removed. That's pretty sick. I just don't get the mindset that you would trust someone you so recently slighted to do ANYTHING...let alone MOUTH SURGERY. I mean, come on!
  4. Geeks are the best. Who wants to be cool?

  7. QUOTE (Del_Duio @ May 2 2012, 11:12 AM) QUOTE (Del_Duio @ May 2 2012, 11:07 AM) QUOTE (lifeson90 @ Apr 27 2012, 07:29 PM) is there any need for this kind of vulgarity? its a rush forum for pete's sake do we have to be disrespectful to ladies? plenty porn sites to discuss bean flicking thanks. I'm far from a stuffed shirt but I kind of agree with this guy. Is a Rush forum a place for stuff like this? Forget it, just read the whole thread looks like ours is not the popular opinion It's treeduck. You'll get used to it.
  8. You guys have to see it. It's so great.
  9. Everything that I listen to.... lol I'm big into hard rock, metal, German metal (Neue Deutsche Harte) But particularly the German bands like Rammstein, Oomph! and Eisbrecher people find hard to believe.
  10. If I don't find something good with presales I will be doing VIP... This will be my third time seeing Rush and I would really like to get close again. If I have to do VIP to achieve that then so be it.
  11. I like Far Cry, Workin' Them Angels, Armor and Sword, MalNar....Those are the only ones that have really stuck with me. The Way the Wind Blows is good too but I don't listen to it as much. Everything else is forgettable.

  13. This thread makes me facepalm. Hard. You'd have to wear 3D glasses which would obscure your vision of the real 3D...THE PEOPLE PLAYING THE MUSIC. 3D movies are bad enough. Please no 3D concerts.
  14. This is a pretty awful thing but its really hard to feel sorry for the guy. It's pretty f***ing stupid to go to a jilted ex lover and let them put you under anesthesia. The guy already had a new gf days after their breakup, so clearly his ex gf wasn't exactly happy.
  15. Porcupine Tree reminded me... I heard someone describe Blackest Eyes as a beautiful song about love and I was like the f**k? So then I looked online and there's a lot of people in denial about what that song is about.....
  16. Well this is easy... It's obviously me. Hope you get some sleep!
  17. QUOTE (CrossedSignals @ Apr 29 2012, 12:13 AM) QUOTE (CrossedSignals @ Apr 29 2012, 12:12 AM) QUOTE (Silas Lang @ Apr 28 2012, 11:10 PM) I wouldn't touch this subject with a 10 foot pole I would! Erm, I mean, I wood.
  18. QUOTE (drbirdsong @ Apr 28 2012, 11:38 PM) The Rush from "Rush" may have had the chops to try a cover version, but they could never have written a song like Headlong Flight.
  19. Now that I am thinking about it... In 2007, I was sixth row. This really nice dressed woman and man sat down next to me. The woman was in a really nice like formal dress and the man was in a suit. The woman explained to me that they had just gotten tickets that night. And I was like wow really you got sixth row tickets like an hour before the concert? Damn. They seemed to be relatively oblivious to who Rush was. I feel like they may have regretted their seating choices as I screamed and sung the whole night away.
  20. I have a Caress of Steel shirt. I have a Permanent Waves shirt. I have a Moving Pictures shirt. And I have a Snakes and Arrows tank top. The tank top is probably my favorite. It's the only one I got at a concert.
  21. I'm quite in love with my German metal so I'm gunna go ahead and say anything that.
  22. This thread is pretty awesome. Just thought I'd put it out there.
