  1. I'll buy it on Tuesday. Can't wait, actually! The last time I bought a VH album on it's release date, Ronald Reagan was POTUS. Time flies......
  2. I wasn't aware that there were issues between Rush and Aerrosmith. Can somebody explain what happened?
  3. QUOTE (Unattractive Truth @ Feb 3 2012, 09:16 AM)The In Absentia album is not a bad place to start.
  4. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Feb 2 2012, 08:06 PM) "As Is" is fantastic. Oh, my. Just listened for the first time. Edward is en fuego! Wow! Exceeding expectations is all I'll say. ETA: the intro reminds me of The Body Electric.
  5. QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Feb 2 2012, 07:34 PM) QUOTE (Unattractive Truth @ Feb 2 2012, 08:34 PM) So pretty much every song is leaked on youtube now. Here's Outta Space... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Wu3l3CXge0&feature=related You can go from there.... This album seriously rocks. This is a killer cut. Seriously. This concert is gonna f*ckin' rock!!
  6. Terrible news. RIP. Back in the day, Soul Train and American Bandstand were must-see TV.
  7. QUOTE (Akron162 @ Jan 31 2012, 08:06 PM) i have learn that anything with a number in its title cant be good, or at least not as you may hope, so im not very enthusiastic about this, its been 40 years after all. But maybe ill give it a try when it comes out, you never know. Probably, but I disagree with your premise. 2112 isn't too shabby.
  8. QUOTE (HowItIs @ Jan 31 2012, 02:34 AM) QUOTE (Perchance to Dream @ Jan 30 2012, 02:10 PM) I blame Rudy. You all remember that prick? Giuliani? No, not that Rudy. I'm referring to the one from the old Tri-Net Rush board.
  9. Is this from the recent HBO George Harrison documentary? I haven't seen it yet. Wow! Very cool.
  10. QUOTE (driventotheedge @ Jan 30 2012, 02:59 PM)QUOTE (BigBob @ Jan 30 2012, 11:06 AM) http://www.cracked.com/funny-2359-progressive-rock/ This should answer some questions This was here one other time and even though I saw it back then, I was literally LMAO reading it again this time. QUOTE The concept album is a staple of progressive rock. Examples range from Pink Floyd's Animals (about the evils of capitalism) to Rush's 2112 (about the virtues of capitalism), and Uriah Heep's Demons and Wizards (elves and shit).
  11. QUOTE (tjtull @ Jan 30 2012, 02:35 PM) QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Jan 30 2012, 04:30 PM) Give the above clips a spin. I did just that, sir! Now I'm wondering, will this be released on vinyl I heard Dave say no to vinyl, but yes, there is a vinyl version. LINK
  12. QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Jan 30 2012, 01:04 PM) Also "She's The Woman"....actual album cut this go 'round (they played it life at their club gig recently): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8oeCIPFGHw...player_embedded Fantastic! I'm really stoked to hear the whole album now! I've got Roger Waters, Rush, and Van Halen shows to go to this summer. Is this 1982 or 2012? Confused......
  13. QUOTE (Rushman14 @ Jan 30 2012, 11:05 AM) Here is the Rush portion of the Metal Evolution feature very cool! Rush on Metal Evolution Nice! Thanks for posting!
  14. After trying for almost a week, I finally pulled something decent for the Oakland show. Section 127, row 13. Eddies side! Excuse me for a sec.....gotta pull this horseshoe outta my ass.
  15. It took me over a year to listen to the full stereo box set. Each time I put in a different CD I was blown away. I'd get stuck on a single CD for at least a month because each time I listened to it, I'd find something new that I didn't hear before. Such a wonderful set. Worth every penny, in my opinion. Revolver is my favorite Beatles album. The new remastered version was practically attached to my hip for several months. I played it everywhere I went. At home, in my car, at work. It didn't matter. I was mesmerized. I also quite enjoyed the Magical Mystery Tour CD. "Baby, You're a Rich Man" made my jaw hit the floor! Paul's bass sounds so f***ing good! Everything sounds so much fatter. Love it! My mono set sits less than a yard away from me as I type this. It is still unopened.
  16. QUOTE (Silas Lang @ Jan 28 2012, 12:24 AM) QUOTE (Xanadoood @ Jan 27 2012, 03:56 PM)These clips are decent, but really, they are just rehashing tired old grooves...that whole Bottoms Up/Im the One /Full Bug vibe...the difference being that it isnt 1979 anymore, and Roth sounds ridiculous trying to sing that way now.. I suppose for the hardcore Van Halen fanatic it's good enough but nothing so far comes close to matching the energy and excitement of the old stuff. So I'll probably pass on this new one. None of the three full songs I've heard is on par with the classic first 6 so I'll be happy to stick with those. So you think they have one foot on the brake and one on the gas? Hey!
  17. QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Jan 26 2012, 06:22 PM) QUOTE (Perchance to Dream @ Jan 26 2012, 08:21 PM) "I told you I'd be back" Yeah, I liked that too. I was close. "Told ya I was comin' back"
  18. QUOTE (Workaholic Man @ Jan 25 2012, 06:28 PM) I hope he doesn't come to regret his decision. Dude.....he's closing in on 70. You can't take it with you. His family should be loaded for generations if they're responsible.
  19. The Amex pre-sale has been a joke so far. Big surprise, huh? I keep pulling seats at the far end of the arena. Not a single floor seat has come up and I'm not paying $300+ to be that far away. I'll keep plugging away and see if I can get lucky.
  20. I saw him a couple of months ago. He's doing a solo acoustic show this time out. He had about 20 or so guitars up on stage and he would switch out guitars for certain songs. He also played keyboards on a few of the songs. He encouraged audience members to shout out requests and he pretty much played everything that was requested. His voice still sounds very good for a dude in his mid-60s. A few people sitting around me commented to me that he's better when he's got his full band and the instruments are electric. I enjoyed it. Very mellow.
  21. QUOTE (Unattractive Truth @ Jan 20 2012, 08:28 AM) Looks like pre-sales start Monday for the next block of cities: Dallas, Atlanta, San Jose, and a few others. Sweet! I'm gonna see what I can pull on the Amex pre-sale for the Oakland show. I'm hoping your lucky streak continues and you get something good for the San Jose gig!
