    Lyrics word cloud

Zoinks - just realised that, if I wanted to do a word cloud of every word that gets sung, I'd need to C & P the choruses (where they exist and are designated as such) into the lyrics. Maybe have to wait until retirement :codger:

Anywhere got the lyrics in a cut 'n' pastable format? e.g. MS Word Here. Go through the full lengths and click show lyrics on each song. https://www.metal-ar...bands/Rush/1206 Excellent stuff, Nate2112 - I think that'll be workable. Just gonna be a lotta work :D

    Lyrics word cloud

Just wondered if anyone's ever done a word cloud including all Rush lyrics. Or a word-count? For no particular reason I'm curious to see which are the most-used words - yes, even including I, the, and...
  5. Limelight on S&A live - quality :)
  6. This version of The Sound of Silence appeared on my Facebook newsfeed and is, IMO, quite beautifully done. However, I then sought the original and came across this one complete with lyrics. To my astonishment I discovered that, according to Paul Simon, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls". Clearly this must have influenced Neil's writing of TSoR - my astonishment is more aimed at myself for not having noticed it before. Are there any other Rush lyrics (or mere snippets thereof) that will have me facepalming myself and thinking "Duhhh...of COURSE!!"?

  8. QUOTE (Scottishdood @ May 15 2012, 05:37 AM) QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ May 14 2012, 05:23 PM) Reckon I'll manage 3 of those. Not going to that London again though. London is a no no for me too fella!! Will go where the crowd rocks and you don't get told off for standing up at a rock n roll concert!!!! Seriously? Is London pish? Due to work it's one of only two I might conceivably manage...don't want a dampener put on it already...

QUOTE (usb_connector @ Feb 9 2011, 02:36 PM) If Alex is accurate with his announcement of not changing the setlist, then it will be exactly the same as everywhere else. "The Spirit of Radio" "Time Stand Still" "Presto" "Stick It Out" "Workin' Them Angels" "Leave That Thing Alone" "Faithless" "BU2B" (from Clockwork Angels) "Freewill" "Marathon" "Subdivisions" Intermission "Tom Sawyer" "Red Barchetta" "YYZ" "Limelight" "The Camera Eye" "Witch Hunt" "Vital Signs" "Caravan" (from Clockwork Angels) "Love 4 Sale" (Drum solo) "Closer To The Heart" "2112 Overture / The Temples of Syrinx" "Far Cry" Encore "La Villa Strangiato" (with reggae intro) "Working Man" (with reggae intro) Thanks very much.
  12. QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Feb 9 2011, 02:18 PM) QUOTE (Boof @ Feb 9 2011, 12:51 PM) Stage 1 Maywick to Aberdeen 238.76 miles (includes 14 hour ferry journey via Orkney) Stage 2 Aberdeen to Stirling (to pick up son from University) 120.64 miles Stage 3 Stirling to Glasgow 26.4 miles A grand total of 385.8 miles. Then the same in reverse. If you're not in the Queen's New Year's Honours list there is something wrong. That is some going. I spent 7 hours in a plane in 08 heading to the US to see them and I nearly lost my mind. Enjoy the gig. Might see you for a beer. We need to organise a TRF meetup for Glasgow, there's quite a few of us going. We get used to the ferry A TRF meet-up sounds sound though - I'll have my lad with me and will have time to kill pre-gig.

  14. ...but I can't (easily) find the actual set list for the UK shows anywhere on here. Any chance someone could do a straightforward Part 1 Interval Part 2 Thanks in advance.

  16. QUOTE (Sir Lerxst @ Apr 10 2009, 10:48 PM) I could always just read out some of Rush's lyrics. I know that people find the scottish accent's* interesting / funny / sexy / calming (delete where appropriate). *There is more than one accent, and countless dialects. Aye...that whiny, nasal, Weegie twang would go down a storm, I reckon. Aiberdeenshire it up loon!! And, if I kent how, I'd Shetland (but my dialect, none of those weird Westside/Isles ones) it up for y'all.

  18. Okay, next attempt from more than a score o' years ago, though you'd've heard it most recently on the S&A tour. Construct fame or boo (7,2,2,4,3)
  19. The answer refers to the number of attempts at solving that one... We might have precious little
