  1. QUOTE (osage2112 @ Dec 7 2010, 11:30 PM) Actually, Austin does suffer from this affliction...the rest of the state knows it and has decided to quarantine the place. Go to Llano, Childress, Balmorhea, Pampa, Tennessee Colony...these are places where you know your neighbors and EXPECT decent behavior. In Austin and the other Metro-hell holes of Texas...anonyimity allows people to follow the liberal line of "I get to do anything I wanna and the rest of you can just eat my shorts." Yeah Austin is Liberal, it's also a festering sanctuary city full of crime and disgust. Great for a good show, pitiful as a place to raise a family. Osage I know a lot of people who would disagree strongly with that kind of blanket statement. Your comment shows me that living in the small towns in Texas is a great place to be small minded, too. have a nice day.
  2. QUOTE (Xanadude69 @ Dec 6 2010, 11:00 AM) If they are going to play any song from Presto it needs to be Superconductor. I think I am the only Rush fan who likes that song. Its actually the only song I like from that album. Funny you say that, i skip it everytime.
  3. QUOTE (johndyar @ Oct 19 2010, 12:03 PM) This tour was great for me. I got to spend another Rush show (and one of the best) with my daughter, got to meet a lot of Rush fans at the pre-show meet-up, got a picture from my daughters Make-A-Wish with Rush signed by the guys, and I got to see a friend that was working the tour. Even though I would have liked to see them more than once on this tour, I am very content with my Rush tour experience this year. Can't wait for the next tour! Wow, a picture with NEIL F ING PEART!!! COOL
  4. Saw Irvine and Dallas, and they were some of the best shows I've ever seen. Keep it up, and long live, and play,
  5. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Oct 17 2010, 06:16 PM) Thank you Rush for this tour. We hope to see you again sometime real soon.
  6. QUOTE (Tigershark2112 @ Oct 5 2010, 01:18 PM) Call me stupid and selfish but I don't have the time to re-read the same posts over and over and still try to make the same passionate argument more than once. If this was the first time someone mentioned pot on this board I would be willing to have a conversation, but this is like the billionth time this tour someone has brought it up. Guess I should just start ignoring all these threads. I admit, and easier and less offensive reply would have just been to simply say: POT IS AWESOME Sounds like an interesting thread...
  7. QUOTE (Oziumrules @ Oct 6 2010, 10:56 PM) I just want to hear.... Natural Science Passage to Bangkok Between the Wheels Analog Kid Digital Man The Camera Eye Vital Signs Cygnus X-1 Circumstances Xanadu Jacobs Ladder A Farewell to Kings The Weapon By-Tor and the Snow Dog Lakeside Park 2112 La Villa Strangiato I can dream...can't I? Love it!
  8. Will I be able to meet the boys in the band, so that one of them can touch my right knee and heal it?
  9. QUOTE (rebelyank @ Oct 5 2010, 08:27 AM) My husband and I took our 11 and 14 year old sons to this tour (in San Francisco) because we're all major fans. It wasn't like we dragged them them there and they didn't know a thing. We happened to end up in a really heavy smoking area. Some people were acting crazy. But it was a very teachable moment for us. We tried to show them how not to focus on stuff like that and remember the reason you're there -- to see the greatest band in the world. Just tune everything else out and lock into the music! While Rush and Pink Floyd among others have a major drug culture following, there are many of us who enjoy them sober. As long as you're not pushing your own agenda (either way) I don't have a problem with either side of it.
  10. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Sep 30 2010, 09:04 PM) I love these guys. I cant help but smile widely when I see them interviewed. They are the polar opposite of conceited. They are so humble, and honest and forthright, its hilarious. What true gentlemen. Thanks for posting the interview. Also looks like the video guys were busy early
  11. QUOTE (Lerxstgrl8710 @ Sep 28 2010, 10:46 AM) QUOTE (Bonghitsforjesus @ Sep 27 2010, 08:31 PM)http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw....134f21616.html Kinda lame, but positive review. I agree. But I'm always expecting negative reviews from DMN. They have been good in recent years, they finally have people who like music doing the reviews! haha. And, yea, it may seem like a small venue, but Superpages is pretty damn big, and they had it bumping on Sunday night! ViVa

  13. The Superpages.com center was as full as i've ever seen it. The lawn had people from edge to edge, all the way to the back. I was at the back, straight on from the stage. Sounded great, but last night belonged to Lerxst Lifeson, holy shit did he rip it up one side and down the other!!! What a stud. Everyone around me were singing Vital signs in unison, very cool.
  14. I'm going to try to get great seats from the box office, get there early and such. But, if I can get a couple of tix beforehand, that would be great, too. Rock on...
  15. QUOTE (FOH Lights @ Aug 23 2010, 01:27 PM) QUOTE (osage2112 @ Aug 23 2010, 08:49 AM)You'd think RUSH's caravan would be large and noticable. Anyone seen them? Osage The "caravan" doesn't necessarily travel together and is often spread apart on the highway, even if by just a couple of miles. Since the semis are unmarked/unlabeled and the tour buses are different colors, to the average traveler, they usually go unnoticed. Which, by the way, is the way they want it. Unlike this guy! LOL!!!
  16. Buenos Aires, or Santiago. They should film Toronto, why the hell not?
  17. Me and a buddy went to this show at Irvine Meadows. We both left thinking the same thing, this was the best Rush has ever sounded. These guys smoked, rocked, and then kicked ass for good measure. Un-f***ing-real. Just when you think, "how many tours does Rush have left in 'em?", then, this show. I'm very curious to see if they can keep it up, seeing them in Dallas in a little over a month. WOW!!!!
  18. went to see SRV open for Moody Blues in the late 80's. Blues were ok, but i was there for Stevie.
  19. QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Jul 22 2010, 12:03 PM)
  20. I guess you should just stay home next time and get drunk on cheaper beer. Save your seat for someone that will enjoy the show.
  21. QUOTE (growingbald @ Jul 11 2010, 01:39 PM) Even though they cancelled the show, the feeling was that they were still going to do a 2nd Chicago show in the future and honor the tickets. As for this fool's idea of suing them, maybe the guys can make it up, bring him up on stage during a show and introduce him (and post his cell phone number on the screen). As far as this dude's logic...lessee he and his buds flew from New York to Chicago. Ummm, Rush was going to play shows alot closer to New York. If you could only do the Chicago show, then pile in a Minivan and $70-80 of gas money will get you to Chicago and back. 42 year old still working on his PhD...*cough* professional student *cough* People with advanced degrees can be the dumbest f**kers around.
  22. QUOTE (GrandDesigner @ Jun 23 2010, 01:40 PM) Where the hell are people getting Superconductor from? It was only mentioned in a random post in that other thread, has it actually been mentioned by a band member? If they do play it, for the love of God, why did it have to be Superconductor when you have gems like Presto, Chain Lightning, and Available Light on the same album unplayed live??????? I agree 1000000%
