Rosemary Clooney John Coltrane - Blue Train; Giant Steps; Love Supreme; Coltrane for Lovers Miles Davis - Birth of the Cool; Kind of Blue; Round About Midnight; Bitches Brew DiMeola, DeLucia, and McLaughlin - Friday Night in San Francisco Duke Ellington - Live at Newport Don Ellis - Tears of Joy (A MUST!!! especially the song Strawberry Soup.) Check out the Live at the Sands with the Count Basie Orchestra album. My favorite jazz album of all time. Return to Forever - Chick Corea's fusion band, if you live Mahavishnu, you'll love them! Check out the Romantic Warrior album! Jimmy Smith - plays the hell out of the hammond b3 organ. Weather Report - song: 'birdland' Yellowjackets - Mint Jam. a great, more modern quintet. Also, I think I've heard Chicago/Chicago Transit Authority on your show before (if not I think you'd dig their early stuff)...if so, you should also check out: Earth, Wind, and Fire Tower of Power Chase Blood, Sweat, and Tears I'm not meaning to give you a music overload...but you do that to me every week. Cheers dude, happy listening!
  10. QUOTE (Merely Space @ Jun 30 2010, 06:56 AM) QUOTE (Drewsifer @ Jun 30 2010, 08:50 AM) The Camera Eye 2010 > TCE '81-'83. I never saw them perform this song in person before, only hearing it on various boots from the MP and Signals tours. It's hard to make a good comparison accordingly. However, what I heard last night was so much better than the recordings I've heard. This song kicked ass. I was blown away, as was everyone else here in New Mexico. Hearing Moving Pictures played from start to finish was almost a religious experience. Those who haven't seen it yet are in for a real treat!! Yeah, there was something magical about hearing all of MP. It looked to me like no one sat down during the entire album. It was freaking insane!! Loved every second of it. Ged: "That would be a whole album! Hope you enjoyed it, we sure did!"

  12. I am very excited for this! The DSOTM tour was amazing, and I considered it the closest I would ever get to seeing Pink Floyd live. Anyone going to the Phoenix show? Whoo!
  13. QUOTE (udanax @ Apr 10 2010, 10:22 PM) I'm waiting to listen to the album until I receive my deluxe edition in the mail, even though it's available online. Me too! I can't wait to read the novel. Going to see them on May 3rd. I'm so pumped!!!
  14. Just got home from MUSE. Probably one of the better concerts I've seen. Didn't know many of the songs played, because I really only know their hit songs (Starlight, Knights of Cydonia, etc.). But damn do they put on one hell of a show, and that stage setup is UNBELIEVABLE!
  15. QUOTE (Mike @ Apr 1 2010, 04:52 AM) Ben Folds - April 15 Ben puts on an AMAZING show. Love that man.
  16. BOOOOO...I was like damnit!! but i still LOL'ed
  17. QUOTE (GrandDesigner @ Mar 27 2010, 02:26 PM) I don't mind going alone. Sometimes it's even more fun. I can just move at my own pace and not worry about finding them when it's over, bathroom stops, etc. I saw U2 and Marillion in 2005 by myself and thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially Marillion, best concert of my life!! Marillion is one of those bands I would do anything to see live. Living in AZ it's kinda hard to go to high quality prog shows. Porcupine Tree has played here a few times in the early 00's but before I lived here...Usually all the big prog tours just skip PHX...even though we are a pretty big city
