  1. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Jul 1 2011, 08:29 PM) QUOTE (USB Connector @ Jul 1 2011, 09:17 PM) Great recovery, the oops was a nice touch too. I laughed pretty hard. Everyone remember this classic? Classic...Just rollin with it.
  2. QUOTE (J0N @ Jun 26 2011, 08:30 AM)realistically: Faithless for Jacobs Ladder Presto for The Enemy Within I second this pick.
  3. I'm in the 'upper' section 42. Does anyone know of a 'view from your seat' website for this venue? I assume it's a rather small arena. Sunday, Sunday, sunday!!
  4. In addition to the previously mentioned highlights....For me, Alex's part on Working Man was incredible. I'm not sure if it was just in Houston, but he tore it up on the solos. La Villa was another, just incredible.
  5. I recall that when the setlist came out for this tour, I was bitching up a storm. But after seeing them in Houston, all my worries went away. Hearing all of MP really was special and LVS really sealed the deal for me, I just absolutely love that song. Even the non-Rush loving wife has asked about when they're coming back. Epic show!
  6. That's just amazing...There is hope for business in America. Being the cynic I am, i'm very suprised.
  7. This whole thread is a joke. Pot is older than rush, it will be there....deal.

  9. QUOTE (Clue69Less @ Oct 5 2010, 11:23 AM) QUOTE (TheBlonde @ Oct 5 2010, 11:00 AM) I don't know that there's an age cut-off that I'd assign to how old is too old to do drugs. Next thing you know, we'll be told we're too old to see Rush. Here here.
  10. QUOTE (FOH Lights @ Oct 5 2010, 08:56 AM) QUOTE (friendlyfloridian @ Oct 5 2010, 08:43 AM)I also want everyone to know that I didn't start this post to try and change anyone or try and start an argument. I know it is controversial but I also felt I had to express myself because it was bothering me and I would hope I could do that here without getting flamed. Rock on... Careful, my friend. There are LOTS of people at Rush shows who indulge and who are over 40. Some, are even approaching their 60's... I do have to say that I find it rather naive & somewhat hypocritical for you to start a thread like this. As others have mentioned, alcohol is technically a drug too and in my experience, people get waay more out of hand & obnoxious when they're drunk than when they're high. Of course, you're entitled to your opinion, but be prepared for differences and be willing to accept them without offense. I completely agree that the rules are backwards. Alcohol has established itself as the much more disruptive (personal health and harm to others) psychoactive drug of the two. How our government views it ($$) will stand for some time, regretfully. I don't condone either, but i'd LOVE it if less drunks were on the road.
  11. This is an awesome interview from the best band that ever lived. Although I find interesting body language from Neil when Geddy mentions that the 'strange truth is'.
  12. QUOTE (Del_Duio @ Sep 28 2010, 09:29 AM) I'll bet a big reason why they aren't filming this is due to the shitty guitar tech(s) this tour. Has there been ANY Time Machine show yet where Alex's guitar didn't crap out at least once? I didn't see any mishaps in Houston. Blazing show.
  13. QUOTE (osage2112 @ Sep 27 2010, 09:37 AM) If the show was not SOLD OUT...it was by a matter of degrees...PACKED HOUSE...everyone was raving. The presentation was SO GOOD. Thank you RUSH for touring...I have a feeling I'm going to be paying BIG BUCKS for the next tour...so addicting!!!!!!!!!! Osage Ditto, i'd gladly pay that money again. A huge return on investment!
  14. A little write-up I found in at chron.com http://www.29-95.com/music/story/rush-offe...mix-old-and-new
  15. To paraphrase the documentary...they've come this far, and are able to pull off such shows to this day. What do the critics have to say now? They're hard to deny.
  16. Saw the show on Saturday. Highlights LVS (holy crap, I could put that on loop and love it), Marathon was incredible, as was all of MP. The best of all has to be Working Man...Alex's solo(s) were in-friggin-sane. I seriously think he sat there for 2-3 minutes shredding. Other than the two douchebags on either side of me and my wife, it was the best we've seen so far.
  17. I'll be there. I hope it cools off before 7:30.
  18. Wow...that is amazing. I wouldn't even think of calling them because of the expected response. Thanks for the info!

  20. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Sep 21 2010, 09:40 PM) QUOTE (ProfGumby @ Sep 21 2010, 08:38 PM) Okay, aside from Geddy's great view....has anything come of all this? How about three rows behind that attractive young lady. A dude with his shirt off, and a girl next to him looking kind of sad.... I think i'd be sad to be next to him too..
  21. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Sep 20 2010, 07:37 PM) Ugh, I'd hate that. A large - very large - part of the reason I love the band is Geddy's voice and vocal style. The instrumentals are good, don't get me wrong, but one or two per album is more than enough. As much as I like the three that were on Snakes & Arrows, three was too many. I'll have to disagree, a huge draw to Rush for me is their virtuosity on their given instruments. That's not to say that I don't enjoy their vocal songs, it's just that the instrumentals hold a special place in my heart. An instrumental album would be heavenly, no doubt!
  22. QUOTE (hastoloverush @ Sep 19 2010, 10:33 PM) Always loved Rush in the late 70's and the 80's but quit going to concerts after one front man decided to call everyone in the audience names, such as "Idiots", etc. (The guys in Rush would never do that!) I figured that I was not going to give any more rock stars (like Axl Rose) MY money. (My friend said.."wow-that's harsh!") Thank gods a Rush fan convinced me to try them-just one more time. We got moved from the nosebleeds to 6 rows beside Alex (stage right). I was acting a fool and screaming my head off..I swear he looked at me. The 2007 Snakes and Arrows Tour show at the Excel in St. Paul was the BEST show I'd been to (aside from Led Zeppelin in 1976 at Earl's Court in London, and Pink Floyd at Knebworth the same year (I think-too much "stopping for the best" since then). Enter today: Time Machine 2010...3 times with one to go. Waaaaah! I missed out on so much because of my stubborness. At least I have s little time and I am catching up on all I can, now. I hope to write a Summer of Rush review of the 4 shows after I see them in Tampa. I really enjoy the observations others share of their experiences at the shows. Yes-this band is truly fine wine only growing better with age. Wow...party on!
  23. QUOTE (jdouglas @ Sep 19 2010, 07:08 PM) QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Aug 24 2010, 09:14 PM) QUOTE (RushRevisited @ Aug 24 2010, 09:09 PM) Here's another picture from Red Rocks of Geddy's side audience: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v323/RushRevisited/redrocks1.jpg Geddy's got a nice view of what's going on in the front row there....yowza! Oh my! Keep a straight face, Geddy!
  24. QUOTE (rocketom @ Sep 19 2010, 09:17 AM) Then they did not play Moving Pictures in it's entirety. I'm suing. I agree. 5 seconds is more than probable cause that they ripped me off.
