  1. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Oct 13 2004, 08:53 AM) QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Oct 13 2004, 01:40 AM) I just watched the trailer. Is the DVD subtitled? The bleedin' Dublin lingo probably does take a bit of getting used to!!. It's been described as an Irish Pulp Fiction - a series of individual stories that interweave in and out as the film continues. BTW BSG - There plenty of sheep on the side of the road, but I'm afraid Maureen is too busy attending awards ceremonies and appreciation dinners!. Tell you what, you ever come over here, I'll show you all the sheep and Guinness you'll ever need. Well. thanks Donal. It wasn't so much the sheep I wanted to see as the lovely young Miss O'Hara. Alas, she is no longer young, but who among us is? (Shut up Moonie! ) I loved her in that movie so much, I went right out and married a redhead.
  2. QUOTE (Sweetmiracle @ Oct 13 2004, 11:42 AM) I'm scratching off other letters....not sure which ones!!! Scratch off the two L's and you have "He Kitty". That'll leave 'em guessing. Great story, SM!
  3. Dang! GG is a ringer here lately. GG on a roll! Hmm.......... sounds like a sandwich. "Umm..... I'll have the Boooone sandwich with everything, and my friend will have the GG on a kaiser roll with mayo, mustard, and pickles, no onions."
  4. QUOTE (Moonraker @ Oct 12 2004, 11:58 PM) You got married at 19? I still dont have a girlfriend yet Ah! Sweet freedom! Enjoy it while it lasts Moon!

  6. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Oct 12 2004, 12:00 PM) Oh, Moon...I'm thinking this is a crime punishable by BANNING! So, you no like NEP as a man of action? I'll bet he could kick Osama Bin Laden's @ss in that getup!
  7. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Oct 12 2004, 08:28 PM) I don't know what impact, if any, this has made outside Ireland, but if anyone is looking for a film that depicts a more realistic slice of Irish life than the standard "Quiet Man" cliches, this is a darned good start. Now, I realize "The Quiet Man" was a bit idealized, but I darn well LIKED it! Are you telling me that if I visit Fair Eire, I will NOT see Maureen O'Hara tending sheep by the side of the road, John Wayne wooing her, and Victor MacLaglen jealously defending her virtue? If that's the case, I'll just darn well stay home!

  9. QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Oct 12 2004, 04:12 PM) Do you want any more hints? It'll slay you to find out.
  10. Tampa rocked! SCREAM, Snowie! We need to have a Florida reunion one of these days! Let's see what we can put together. Maybe hang at the Hard Rock in Tampa, or Orlando one of these nights.
  11. Nice going Mooney! Now give us a good one.
  12. Mr Reeves, RIP. Superman: I'm here to fight for truth, justice, and the American way. Lois Lane: You're gonna wind up fighting every elected official in this country!
  13. I have a feral-donkey guess (aka "wild-@ss"). If it's in the last 15 years, that makes it 1989, and Presto, possibly RTB. Else you might have said "in the last 10 years", since Couterparts was 1994. Chain Lightning I picture your Satanic character saying "That's nice". Told ya it was wild-@ss.
  14. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Oct 11 2004, 12:31 AM) QUOTE (BSG @ Oct 10 2004, 11:24 PM) QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Oct 11 2004, 12:20 AM) QUOTE (BSG @ Oct 10 2004, 11:15 PM) Grace Under Pressure era......... umm, The Enemy Within? Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's it. Wow! What's my prize? Ya got any boots? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v455/TheRushForum/post-4-1093542798.jpg Your prize is the pride in a job well done. "Pride in a job well done", eh? That's funny. That's what they keep telling me at work, when I ask for a raise. ____________________ And, YES I am getting this thread back on topic! Here ya go, Neil-lovers! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v411/bsg2112/Rush/NEP01.jpg

  17. Grace Under Pressure era......... umm, The Enemy Within?
  18. I went ahead and bought this movie this weekend. For the true afficionado, there's also a version with a 90 page booklet and an audio CD of the movie soundtrack, but since the standard 2-disc set had all the same special features I just got it. ________________________ Hope is a good thing. Maybe the best of things. And nothing good ever dies. Get busy living, or get busy dying.
  19. QUOTE (Megadon @ Oct 10 2004, 11:25 AM) I voted for Fly By Night. It was a hard choice between this, 2112 and Moving Pictures. The tie breaker ended up being the amazing cover art. BTW, I'm new here. Hello all!! Hello to you Megadon! Keep on posting. I'm sure you'll like it here!
  20. QUOTE (Rhiannon_of_Rivendell @ Oct 8 2004, 11:57 AM) Congrats Sodoff! Will Black Adder be the nanny? Umm...... so Sodoff downloaded her offspring? Facts, please.
  21. QUOTE (DonnaWanna @ Oct 9 2004, 11:26 PM) "When he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars, and he will make the face of heaven so fine, that all the world will be in love with the night." Not a clue, but..... "wow", just..... "wow"!
  22. Oh yeah! Forgot about this thread! My recent purchases are not new new, but I've been catching up on my U2, in anticipation of their next release and tour. I got "Pop" and "All That You Can't Leave Behind" this weekend. I also got the "Queen - Live at Wembley" DVD. Good stuff, all.
  23. Age and sex poll? 41 and "yes, please!" Oh? Has that remark already been made?
