  2. QUOTE (metaldad @ Sep 1 2010, 06:18 PM) QUOTE (summer_sky @ Sep 1 2010, 12:15 PM) i'm a big fan of live music and love to be right up front, however, i still cannot bring myself to support the scalping industry. just seems wrong on many levels. Scalpers Suck Something I think most of us can agree on!
  3. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Sep 1 2010, 04:38 PM) QUOTE (Tony R @ Sep 1 2010, 10:33 AM) Seems to me that some people spend so much time worrying what everyone else is doing that they forget to chill and have a good time themselves. The OP had great seats and a great view pity he had to spoil it for himself by getting worked up about nothing. Seems to me that if he fell into a barrel of titties he'd fret about who had managed to fall into a bigger barrel of bigger titties. Clearly you are hell bent on causing more trouble than we already have... STOP. Stop posting this crap, okay? You may not like the way we handle things here, but that's tough. I've asked you twice to stop stirring things up. You think there is something objectionable about my post? I was merely making an observation. I used to get all worked up about people invading my space at concerts. When I was older I realised that I my energy and attention was better used enjoying the band. That is all.
  4. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Sep 1 2010, 04:22 PM) Since apparently no one really noticed my post, I'll give it another go. This is a tense issue. There are things being said on both sides that exacerbate the situation. Stop the namecalling, and Tony - STOP STIRRING THE SHIT. Got it? Thanks all. And please don't ignore another post from me, huh? I rarely come in and say stuff like this. Calm down, and discuss it rationally. Just read this. UNDERSTOOD. However I am merely defending a lady's honour.

  6. QUOTE (RushNut @ Sep 1 2010, 04:07 PM) QUOTE (Rushgirl @ Sep 1 2010, 10:02 AM) I will chime in here. Yes, I did go to the front in Vegas for 10 minutes - knew a friend up there! Yes I did go up in Columbus for the 2nd half (my friend let me stay) No one else but YOU complains, if I was encroaching on someones space and they had an issue, of course I would leave. Everyone around me was friendly and not pissed off. I pay for my front row tickets 90% of the time, 2 times this tour I have not........... Jealousy rears it`s ugly head here on TRF.......... None of the comments about "oh, back in the day we did this" or "you're just an asshole" mean it's RIGHT. Oh, gee...I always pay for my cart full of groceries but this time I'm only going to pay a smaller percentage of the actual price. Let's have EVERYONE move to the front row if it's no big deal. Yes, it's exactly the same. You chose your forum name well didn't you...
  7. Well come on, it's a concert for heaven's sake. Back in the good old days the first 30 rows all moved forward to the front and we had a great time. Sure we lost the odd one in the crush but that was all part of the concert experience and besides they tended to be the weaker whiny bastards like you.
  8. QUOTE (vital signz @ Sep 1 2010, 02:15 PM) Well I'll be damned.................. She did it again. I am gonna name names. RUSHGIRL from Toronto. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. You snuck up front row again in Columbus and you weaseled out another front row experience without paying the exorbitant money paid by another person. I think you ought to be truly ashamed of yourself. You did it in Vegas and you did it in Columbus. I don't know why some people feel the need to be so immature. Those around you just shake their heads in disbelief. Rude, disrespectful and immature as holy hell. Jesus. I wonder how many other venues you did this at and how many other folks you took advantage of??????? How old are you?????

  10. QUOTE (vital signz @ Aug 16 2010, 05:34 AM) You know, I know many people love Rush----few do as much as I do----but what I do not understand is the unmitigated rudeness of those that feel that they can just wander up into the front rows at some point during the show and sqqqquuuuueeeeezzzzzeeeeee their way into the rows and crowd those that either were blessed enough to get incredible seats, or those that paid LOTS of money to get the seats. Its one thing if you want to change seats with someone for a while. That is no problem. What I have a big problem with is just wandering up into the rows and crowding those that are peacefully enjoying the show. It makes my blood boil. All of a sudden you are holding on to your space and getting squeezed and pushed out of your "seat area" and it just sucks. There are people on this board that do this. I have seen it repeatedly with my own eyes. You all know who you are and it is a shitty thing to do. Stop it. Have respect for those that are around you. There is no excuse for it, and you are being a gigantic butthole when you do it. If you want to switch seats with those you know in the front row for a while do it, but stop getting into the space of others, which leads to security coming up to you during the show, and disrupting everyone around you. It is rude, unthoughtful, and disrespectful. Stop it. Diddums! Poor baby. Mummy provide you with your own bubble next time. Ah bless!!
  11. This from CP: QUOTE Rush has reserved backup gear from Performance Audio in Salt Lake City for August 5th at the USANA amphitheater.
  12. QUOTE (trenken @ Mar 26 2010, 03:56 PM) QUOTE (Score Out @ Mar 26 2010, 10:16 AM) Guys - seriously...there's a tour. It starts late June. It will be announced soon I'm sure. It's been in the planning stages since December. Most of the dates have been booked for at least a couple of months at this point. Rushisaband has a few of them posted - and all but 1 or 2 (that may have since been corrected - I haven't checked) are accurate. It's 100% happening. K we'll see. They just said in that hour long interview they are writing songs, you know a lot of bands that go out on tour before an album is done? I sure as hell dont. Everything that's been said outside of what Geddy and Alex said about writing is rumors, the band never mentioned anything about a tour. It's all fabricated on the internet. There will not be an album released prior to the upcoming tour.
  13. A clip from the documentary film "Insurgentes". Steven Wilson discusses the current state of the music industry - and a few words on reality TV shows (X Factor, American Idol etc.)

  15. http://www.drumchannel.com/entertainment/M...art-101729.aspx Neil Peart takes Drum Channel on a behind the scenes tour of the making of The Hockey Theme. When TSN (The Sports Network) decided to recreate the hockey theme they wanted to use iconic Canadians to help in the revisal. The Hockey theme is recognized as Canada's second national anthem so when they decided to recreate it, they wanted to use the best. The first person that came to mind was Rush drummer, Neil Peart. Over 2 years ago, they tried to get the theme recreated with the entire Rush band but the timing just wasn't right. Years later, Neil was still interested in the idea and TSN was willing to do whatever it took. A custom drum kit was made by DW Drums with all of the different hockey team logos on it for the revision of the song. ============================================ Hope this hasnt already been posted.
  16. YYZ. Just seen the clip on Youtube of Muse playing part of YYZ and now I can't get that Morse Code pattern out my head.
  17. QUOTE (Pagon @ Feb 25 2010, 06:51 PM) the PT tour this time around is not that good. the incident was ok live. the 2nd set tunes were just ok. fear of a blank planet was amazing. great song choice. next tour i'm sure they will be rockin. I wasn't a big fan of The Incident initially but I thought they pulled it off immaculately live. The 55 minutes passed like 10 for me.

  19. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Feb 25 2010, 01:37 PM) QUOTE (Territorial_Game @ Feb 25 2010, 07:50 AM) Last night at a class at church, we watched a video. At the end of the video, it displayed some quotes/verses/etc. The background music? Arriving Somewhere!!!!!!! I almost died right then and there. Interesting. I'm not exactly sure what the song really means, but I always thought it was about dying in an accident and not winding up where you thought you would in the afterlife. Ha! That takes me back to my Catholic college days. One of the young "trendy" priests used the whole of AFTK as a backdrop to a seminar about "faith" I didnt have the heart to tell him, mainly because I was so stoked that he'd even heard Rush nevermind used the music at college.

Arriving Somewhere!!!!!!! I almost died right then and there. One of my top 5 PT songs for sure, way better than "Anesthetize" for me. It says a lot for the strength of the band's repertoire when they can drop a track of that calibre from the live show. Obviously time constraints play a part and the 11pm curfew at some venues but even so I hope they get around to realising soon that it's a far better track than Anesthetize.
  21. QUOTE (Natch @ Feb 22 2010, 03:59 PM) Does anyone know what the Radio City show will be all about? Will it be a continuation of The Incident tour, or a special setlist? Just wondering if anything has been announced.... The Incident will be played in full "for the final time", the rest of the set is unknown.
  22. QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ May 27 2009, 08:33 PM) Regarding my choice of Utopia's album RA, I think I have seen maybe one person who knew about that album on this forum. It's probably the rarest album in my collection. Not only do I own the album, I have the intro to Communion With The Sun as one of my ringtones.
  23. With new PT predicted for Sept 09 and then presumably a new Blackfield album, it could be a while before another SW solo album sees the light of day!
