  1. That's exactly what the evening was to me. Rush were the headliner, and everyone else went first because they were less important. It may have been a bummer for the other artists, but they all had control over their own destinies just like Rush did. If they had a problem with being less interesting to the room, maybe they should have made some better music and brought more fans with them. The article wasn't well-written or funny enough to have any tongue-in-cheek value to me. It's just stupid.
  2. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for posting these in such a sneaky way! It made my night. Let's see how long it takes for HBO to figure it out.
  3. A band that has passionate fans is "spun" to be negative. If they had been inducted in a timely manner, none of this would be an issue. I thought the "rock historian" circle-jerk of Rush bashing was behind us.
  4. I had no idea Spin was still a magazine. Who gives a shit?
  5. It's working now. A few hours ago it was automatically redirecting me here over and over again: http://www.anthementertainmentgroup.com/sro/anthem/intro.php
  6. I can't find it anymore. Every time I try to go to rush.com it sends me to some generic Anthem page. Anyone else having this problem?
  7. QUOTE (ak2112 @ May 1 2011, 12:30 AM) For some people, louder = better. Not me. I'll stick with the 25.8P and MFSL when I want the best sound. For some people, louder = greater signal-to-noise ratio. I would love to do a study of my own by doing a double-blind listening test of my own (including adjusting all of the sound samples to the same volume), but I'm going to use the money I'll save by not buying nine copies of the same album to buy food and gas.
  8. I think it would be way better if it were called Crimson Tide. Roll Tide.
  9. QUOTE (Soni @ May 11 2011, 07:23 AM) I'm so f*cking sick to see a new "Is Neil too old." or "This is Rush's last tour" type threads every time I log in on TRF. I joined this forum to talk with other Rush fans, to share my love of the band with others. Not to read stupid trolls. Until this f*cked up trend of stupid threads keeps going, I won't post nor look at this sub forum. See ya in the Pit, Nick. ps rulezzz bitches!!! It's a legitimate topic about Rush being discussed in a Rush forum. Boo f***ing hoo.
  10. QUOTE (thebernreuter @ Apr 29 2011, 07:54 AM) Geddy's voice. I didn't go this tour because it's gotten to where it's too hard to listen to. I hate to say it because he is one of my all time vocal heroes, but he just cracks too much now. Either they need to space the dates out way more, play for less than three hours (no), play more instrumentals because they're better than ever instrumentally, or just stop. I don't want them to go out as an embarrassment like some of the shit "classic rock" bands; they're way too awesome and important to music for that. I'm going to have to revise my thoughts here a little, and hopefully serve as the thread killer as well. I listened to the Ft. Lauderdale show the other night, and it's still an enjoyable listen. Geddy's handling himself pretty well. Some songs are really rough - Spirit of Radio - but overall he's making the best of the voice he's got right now, and I'd still pay for a ticket. I don't he can afford to lose much more of his voice, though.
  11. QUOTE (rushgoober @ May 27 2010, 12:46 PM) QUOTE (Merely Space @ May 27 2010, 10:42 AM) QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ May 27 2010, 12:40 PM) The Million dollar question everyone will be asking is... Will Vapor Trails be included in this???? I hope so. It would be VT's best bet to finally go gold! Seriously they need to just delete this album and remove it from their catalog - best to pretend it never happened. Remix it, remaster it, do whatever - it will still be their worst album by a very wide margin. Ok, I'll be quiet now. Nope. Still ahead of self-titled, Fly By Night, Hold Your Fire, and Roll the Bones. And Feedback. And Counterparts.
  12. QUOTE (ak2112 @ Apr 30 2011, 04:23 PM) I'm not sure what kind of mind altering substances you're using but all you need to do is look at a waveform of any track of the 97 remaster and you'll see it is brickwalled to shit. There are multiple sections, particularly on Tom Sawyer, where it goes to clipping. This sucker is loud and louder. There is NO dynamic range. Get a copy of the original US Atomic or better yet, the MFSL and you'll hear what real dynamic range sounds like. Your statement above is pure fantasy. You've been spending too much time hooked up to an iPod my friend. However, I do enjoy your posts as you have a fantastic sense of humor. I think we could have some very lively debates about music, so carry on please There aren't really any dynamics on the record in general. It's not a jazz record or anything. It might be brickwalled, but I know digital distortion when I hear it, and it's not here. I don't own any other masters of this record, so you could be right. I'll just remain ignorant on this one because I'm not enough of an audiophile to buy it nine times I don't mind the spirit of audiophilia; I just think scientifically there's very little evidence to back up the bitching about 24bit/192khz bluray nonsense being superior to CD audio in terms of what people can actually hear, there actually being more "resolution" in analog sources in terms of what comes out of the speakers - two samples per cycle is enough, four isn't really even necessary but whatever. People can spend their money however they like, but it makes me cringe a little when I hear about people spending a bajllion dollars on speakers, cables, weird headphone amplifiers, for minimal if any quantifiable gain. I'm glad you appreciate my humor! Some find it excruciating.
  13. The remixes would be perfect without the change to the bass guitar sound. Sounds like pooh now. On the original record it had the overdriven intensity Geddy uses live. On the remixes it's extremely clean and the eq is weird.
  14. QUOTE (SeamusWiles @ Apr 29 2011, 09:03 PM) One Little Victory is such a superior song it isn't even fair. It's like comparing Moving Pictures and Presto. Wrong. I hate "One Little Victory." The garbage mix doesn't help, especially the vocal production. Way better live. Still inferior to "Far Cry."
