    Here's Where's my thing:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoTjfVN94ps...OBItPGgKOmGiflp

Also this poster has every single song from the first show up if your still missing any. BTW I'm gonna try to get my better recorder to tomorrows show, I got one of the first 15 rows so I'm hoping to get some good footage.

i'm not a fan of where's my thing but listening to the video alex's guitar sounds out of tune compared to the studio version.

I hate to break the news to people...

But whatever YOUR "perfect" setlist is... there are people who will hate it.

This band has well over 170 songs in their catalog and each and every one of them is a personal favorite for SOMEBODY.
There is somebody out there who LOVES Stupidconductor.
There is somebody out there who LOVES You Bet Your Life
There is somebody out there who LOVES Dog Years and Virtuality.

If they played any of those songs (to name a few) I would be bummed out as hell.. but SOMEBODY out there would need a paper towel to clean out their undies.

This is the setlist that the band wants to play.. and personally I love it.

For those of you who are saying you're going to skip the tour that is certainly your choice. But I would remind you to think about 1997 and just how quickly things can change.

If you never have another chance to see RUSH will you regret not seeing them on this tour... even if the setlist isn't what you personally would consider 'perfect'?

This is how I feel about the set list "debate".

It's not a debate, I just gave my opinion. You don't like it, that's your perogative, and you've made it clear. I don't like yours either, just to be equally clear...

    bekloppt.gif

Treeduck...your post was fine and you saw...I was not referring to you in my "get it off my chest" ranting.

It is directed at the trolls....the guys who don't have a real life that must rip everything this band does.

I never...ever see anything positive ever come out of these trolls.

They love to come in....get a rise out of people (like me).

When it comes to the band....playing live...being a musician myself....it is comical the posts these clowns make in regards to the setlist.

They don't get it.......at all. They have no clue what goes into creating, and putting together a show like this.

Screw them and their so- called opinions.

I can understand some fans disappointment if the 80's was not their era....but for the majority of Rush fans.....80-87 was a major major part of their Rush history....and the band was at their highest point. Between 1980 and 1987 they sold millions upon millions of albums.

This type of setlist has been long overdue. And now we are finally getting it.

WC and Reflected Light......are utter internet Rush Tour Forum trolls.

Every Rush forum has them. They are easy to spot.

They love to call out every die hard Rush fan a fanboi.......whooooooo they are so cool...there not fanbois.

    Blow me

    Please.

Treeduck......no issues with your post at all. Never had any. I think I have posted enough here that most know I am long time fan, love their music, support this band and will to the day I die.

Can they do wrong? Hell yeah. Not every album is a masterpiece and not every song a work of art.

But live......they are amazing. And I appreciate every tour we get more and more.

talk about getting your panties in a bunch. unsure.gif

So much to pick from, so many songs that could have been "in your face" and we get, Big Money, Force 10, Bravado, Red Sector A, and a few other has beens.

and lets not forget the in your face rocker, the body electric. sarcasm.gif

Does everything need to be a "in your face rocker"?

no but there are so many better choices out there. kid gloves and the enemy within would have been a ton better. the body electric is a weak track.

i would have even thrown red lenses in there.

    I'm Game:

    Subdivisions
    Big Money
    Force 10
Cut to the Chase (Replace Grand Designs)
    Body Electric
    Territories
    Analog kid
    Kid Gloves (Replace Bravado)
    Wheres My Thing?
    Far Cry

    Set 2
    Caravan
    Clockwork
    Anarchist
    Carnies
    Alex's Solo/ Halo effect
Seven Cities of Gold (Replace Wish them Well) and Move both up!
    Wreckers
    Headlong flight
    The Garden
    Losing It (Replace Manhattan Project)
    RED SECTOR A
    YYZ
    Xanadu (Replace Working Man)

    Encore
    Tom Sawyer
    Limelight

that second set is ok but replace red sector a with something different like the enemy within.

the first set earthshine for the big money, prime mover for force ten, the weapon for bravado, a farewell to kings for where's my thing, and cinderella man for far cry.

  7. QUOTE (LotusLand @ Sep 9 2012, 08:31 PM)
It is not the die hard fan that drives exceptional attendance. It is the fan who "likes" Rush and has a few albums/CD's

Now you can see a setlist anywhere on a website. The casual fan who "likes" Rush and has a few albums/CD's are not going to go to watch 8-9 from Clockwork Angels or these other selections. They are going to say....No thanks.

I have no problems with what they are choosing to play. I just say, what could have been.

concentrate more on the setlist and less on the theatrics bs.

the pass?  it doesn't get any better.  facepalm.gif  i'm not a fan of presto but havent they played this tune alot?  seems like its always in there.

That's because it's one of the band's favorite songs. It's obviously very important to them.

    terrible choice.

  10. QUOTE (The K Man @ Sep 9 2012, 06:28 PM)
Please cry a little more about it.

Plenty of us fans like this set list, and many of us are also huge fans of the 70s stuff, but we have the sense to realize that they are mixing it up from tour to tour, and on this tour, they are featuring the synth era heavily for the first time since, well, the synth era. Don't like it, don't go. Oh, you already said you aren't going. Okay, cool. Bye.

they are featuring the synth era basically because geddy can't handle anything else vocally. you either like it or you don't.

    1. Between Sun & Moon was played on the VT tour and went over horribly
    2. Do you really want the 2012 version of Geddy Lee trying to sing Anthem?
    3. Instead of Lock & Key insert Prime Mover and you're right on (it fits the CA concept)
    4. A Passage to Bangkok was just played on S&A
    5. Nat Sci is a great tune but it's been played a LOT recently
    6. Swap Peaceable Kingdom for Vapor Trail
    7. The Trees has been played a lot recently as well.
    8. No TSoR and TS is completely unrealistic

    2. Yes. I was just listening to it, I think he could make it work. He sang Grand Designs great.

    8. As is Rush touring with an orchestra and not playing any 70's material.

i just watched the 1991 version of them doing anthem. it was a subdued geddy trying to sing it and it sounded good but i'm not sure he could pull it off today. only ged knows. song kicks ass though.

There's just no way. If Geddy from 21 years ago struggled to sing it, it's impossible now. Why do you think it was played just in a medley on R30?

yea you're right. eh.gif i enjoyed the anthem medley piece though.
