  1. It might be a day or two early to ask, but did anyone get anything back signed from the first show yet?
  2. Pittsburgh roads are a pain in the ass bit you should not have many problems because you are going into the city. At that time, most people are going the other way.
  3. QUOTE (anchorman @ Sep 6 2012, 05:25 PM) I wish the song Second Nature never existed. It's one of the worst songs on arguably one of their worst CD's. Nobody's Hero ? Nobody cares. All the other tunes listed ? please. How's that for a diverse fan base ? It's beyond me on how many people love HYF. That's what makes this band so great I suppose. Pretty genius on their part actually. This band has been together so long and has been so successful that fans can actually argue as to what decade of music they prefer. If that's not enough, they can argue what genre of music is best to them. Hard rock to synth period to progressive, etc. Cool stuff. Lyrically the songs on HYF and PW are pretty hard to beat in my opinion. That being said PeW is still my fav, but these two CD's got me hooked on the band and therefore they hold a special place with me. I can't wait to hear whatever songs they choose to play from them live. You said it, that is what makes them so great... different eras.
  4. QUOTE (mazyyz @ Sep 4 2012, 10:03 PM) How does one know it's an authentic signature? The item that I have signed from last time has signatures that are very close to "certified authentic" items that I have seen. Sending my photo to Consol today.

  6. QUOTE (Amy Farrah Fowler @ Aug 29 2012, 07:57 AM) I contacted Consol yesterday to verify the proper address. They say they can guarantee that once it arrives they will get it to the tour management. After that, it's out of their hands. I'm going to grab the CA LP and send the cover in with a silver sharpie. I'll risk an album cover. What was the address they told you? Just making sure.
  7. I sent mine in last time to Consol... "Attn: Liam Birt" and got it back a few days after the show. Gonna send a photo for them to sign next week.
  8. Yes. Consol in PGH worked for the last tour. Got a MP tour book signed.
  9. I said above average because of how the songs are inter-twined. Power Windows and Hold Your Fire are tops for me.
  10. In no particular order: The Anarchist The Wreckers The Garden Clockwork Angels So far my playlist is being dominated by these four. Love the whole release though more and more with each listen.
  11. QUOTE (the masked drummer @ Sep 21 2010, 10:49 AM) QUOTE (PennSt8r @ Sep 17 2010, 10:22 AM) QUOTE (druid13 @ Sep 17 2010, 09:55 AM) I have seen every tour since Signals and that was defintely overall the best show they have done here...or in Burgettstown. Really liked seeing Rush play 'tight" but also grooving with a looseness and a musical sense maybe they did not have in their younger years. They have this material so well oiled they were fooling with time and parts and it was damn refreshing to see that. To me see ing exact reproduction is not my cup of tea....seeing musical development and growth from these tunes is...and that is what RUSH did last night. I can think of at least two tunes that really came alive in comparison to their studio counterparts and...one song from that album of the same title (no spoilers) that was really nice to hear again. No technical problems other than a BD mike which was fixed at halftime...crowd was great....STOOD ENTIRE SHOW...unlike what I am reading about some other snoozier areas of the country. Pittsburgh and RUSH had a great night last night....should have filmed it man. Really should have. Totally agree. Thought Ged's mic was a little loud, but other than that the show was great. Also the video at the end was so loud you could almost not make out what they were saying. Minor complaints in an otherwise tight show. I've seen 30 shows since Signals and this was the deadest crowd I've ever seen before. I guess Detroit audiences are more enthusiastic for some reason. Saw them in Chicago on R30 and the crowd went insane just like Detroit, though. Hmmm... Have to totally disagree. Fans were pretty much into it all night, except for the 4th song in set 1. That song just didn't not work. Not sure what crown you were watching, but people were standing the whole time.
  12. Got my MP tour book back today signed. Guess Consol in PGH DOES forward items to the artists. I am happier than a pig in s...!!!!! Not sure how to post the photo.

  14. As I sent in an earlier reply, sent a tourbook to Consol. I addressed it to "Attn: Liam Birt - Rush Tour Manager" so hopefully they would forward it since it was sent to an actual person. I know they could just toss it, but since it was addressed to someone you would think they would forward it. I am hoping at least since I only bought the tour book a week ago just to send it to the venue.
  15. QUOTE (Digital Signals @ Sep 13 2010, 08:26 PM) I was going to send a CD insert to CONSOL Energy Center, but saw on their website that they "cannot accept autograph/photograph requests by mail". Sent to Boston instead, we'll see what happens. Bummer. Just sent a MP tourbook to Consol yesterday. I did not see any note on the web site, but I really did not look either. That kind of ruins my day.
  16. Went to see Huey Lewis and the News back in the day without even knowing who the opening act was. 7:30 these four black guys come on stage dressed like clowns. Turned out to be Living Colour. They rocked. I went out and bought "Vivid" the next day.
  17. QUOTE (Rush Cocky @ Jul 8 2010, 06:00 AM) QUOTE (shaun3701 @ Jul 8 2010, 02:40 AM) how the heck have you met them 3 times?? SERIOUSLY! We're anxiously waiting for the book on how you're able to pull that off repeatedly. I agree. Howd ja do it three times? I would like to acomplish this once before they hang it up. Haven't been able to yet and I am 41.
  18. QUOTE (trenken @ Jul 2 2010, 08:58 AM) QUOTE (PennSt8r @ Jul 2 2010, 08:56 AM) QUOTE (trenken @ Jul 2 2010, 08:45 AM) I'm sick of seeing them outdoors on every tour. Sure its nice out in the summer, but the sound and lighting both suck. The sound just gets lost in the open air, doesnt have the same punch it has indoors. Ive seen them indoors many times, but on the VT tour I saw them outside for the first time at PNC, up very close, and the sound sucked. Then I saw them later that tour indoors at the arena where the NJ Nets play and the sound was amazing, I could feel Neil's bass drum kicking me in the ass constantly. I loved it and I miss that. PIT show is indoors, Sept 16th. Brand new Consol Energy Center. Tempting but that has to be like 6 hours from me, and PNC is 10 minutes. That's cool. I don't think I would drive 6 hrs to see a concert either. This place was basically built for two things, hockey and concerts. The sound will probably be excellent.

  20. Maybe this has been talked about already, If so then I apologize, but is it just me or are these video's opening each set getting to be too much? Do they really need a 6 minute video to open the show? That is another song right there that could be in the set list. I know it is just another form of entertainment and they obviously enjoy hamming it up in these videos, but I would rather they cut these to maybe 1 minute tops and add a few songs to the set list. I don't care about Alex in a fat suit and Neil as a cop. Let's hear some more music!
  21. By the time this tour reaches Sept 16th some of the songs might be changed. It is not a great set list, but I am not going to complain too much. It is evident that everyone has their own opinions on how it could be better. Highs: Vital Signs La Villa Presto Marathon Time Stand Still No Roll The Bones or Dreamline Lows: Stick it Out (Why???) No Jacobs No Driven No MalNar Alex's solo. (Love Al, but I could do without this)
  22. QUOTE (savagegrace26 @ Jun 28 2010, 01:20 PM) This setlist sucks. Needs to be a song or two more after the drum solo. And it feels so.....by the numbers. If this is it then I'll skip this tour. There isn't a possible RUSH set list can suck!!! C'mon man.
  23. QUOTE (Joshua @ Jun 28 2010, 06:03 AM) The Spirit Of Radio The Analog Kid Time Stand Still Freewill The Main Monkey Business Caravan BU2B Workin' Them Angels A Farewell To Kings Jacob's Ladder Marathon --------------------- Tom Sawyer Red Barchetta YYZ Limelight The Camera Eye Witch Hunt Vital Signs Subdivisions MalNar Drum Solo Hope 2112 Overture/The Temples Of Syrinx/Grand Finale ---------------------- Far Cry Bastille Day Closer To The Heart I like this set list except for the Monkey Business. Was hoping to see Driven make the cut, but no one has confirmed this list.
