  1. F. U. C. K. the RRHOF...it’s rock n roll not the New Year’s Waltz concert in Vienna. He could have taken a dump and wallowed in his own filth on stage for all I care.
  2. Force Ten < Dreamline Time Stand Still > Bravado Open Secrets > Roll The Bones Second Nature < Face Up Prime Mover > Where's My Thing? (Part IV, "Gangster Of Boats" Trilogy) Lock And Key > The Big Wheel Mission > Heresy Turn The Page < Ghost Of A Chance Tai Shan < Neurotica High Water > You Bet Your Life HYF wins easily. As it should because I love that album and loathe RTB with a searing passion seasoned by a dash of indifference and a sprig of apathy.
  3. I said “IF”...IF they play again. Not “they should” or “they will”. IF. And as noted above I never said “they must be Rush” or “will be as Rush”. Juat a little speculative fun. Plus Vinnie is, well, he’s Vinnie.
  4. I’ve come to the conclusion that they need to hire Vinnie Colaiuta to play drums. His discography is massive: from Joni Mitchell to Jeff Beck to Frnk Zappa to Megadeth he’s got the feels and the chops to play whatever they want. That is all.
  5. Agree. Due to several factors: all the vocal & guitar layering, the distorted mix & the coated heads Peart used for his drums...all these added up to make what I consider Rush’s “impressionist” album.
  6. I had never heard these Genesis songs until this thread...I have to say all the carnival organ / synth solo stuff just does nothing for me and find it annoying. So, yeah, not a fan of this Genesis material.
  7. That makes perfect sense. I've long ago dismissed the first album, due to personal taste/bias... but listening to that solo along with them - hell yes. Yes it makes perfect sense. It’s a lot of fun to watch people enjoy something I love so much and reminds me of the first time I listened to these songs and makes me readjust my bias for/against certain songs.
  8. Yeah man that was a great vid. They should watch it live to really see Alex go ape shit on that solo.
  9. YES! Those awkward, uncomfortable sprints to the bus were only getting faster and faster...a sure sign of peaking athletic ability.
  10. Who could possibly argue with such authentic frontier gibberish?
  11. I said something about Lifeson giving incorrect info earlier in this thread or another thread maybe. I do think Rush is done but not because of his quote. I had already thought they were. Anyway... Yeah, I think that they are done, also. Like I said earlier in this thread, I suspected the end was near after they released CA and Neil did an interview saying how he wanted to make CA the bands best album ever. Neil is 65, and Alex & Geddy are 64. It's their time. I don't think any of the "old-timer" bands who are still touring could do on stage what Rush did. Yeah, Charlie Watts can play until he's 80. He's been playing the same simple beat for nearly 60 years. He could never do what Neil did every night on stage. Charlie Watts couldn't do what Neil did on stage for ten seconds. Hahahaha! Neil couldn't do what Charlie could do on stage for 21.12 seconds!! Charlie can swing! Neil can not! But...but...what about the Peter Erskine lessons?? Sincerely, Joe Morello
  12. Reading between the lines from various interviews it seems Arraya and King don’t much like each other.
  13. I bet sooner. There's only so many 3rd grade field trips you can chaperone before you start to lose it. I'm actually a bit surprised that Neil has been COMPLETELY radio silent. I'd at least expected a few long-winded updates on his web site letting us all know how great the simple life is. He’s telling you how great it is simply by saying nothing. Maybe.....but in interviews he always talked about doing more writing, etc. To hear nothing at all is a bit weird. Everything Peart has done or ever will do can be classified as a bit weird. Or eccentric if he’s rich enough. I’d say he qualifies as eccentric.
  14. Show Don't Tell - 5:00 Ghost of a Chance - 5:19 Time and Motion - 5:56 The Pass - 4:51 Driven - 4:27 Presto - 5:46 T4E - 5:55 Dreamline - 4:36 I think that's a pretty respectable mix of songs...I'd buy that album. A hair over 41 minutes.
  15. Explanation: ALL of them don’t want to do it anymore. So, they’re done. Or I guess, more correct is: Not all of them want to do it anymore. So, they’re done. Yes, BUT....... Everyone knows that if Neil called the other two tomorrow and said, "Hey, I'm getting bored just sitting around. Let's do something," then an album or tour could be back on the table. That simply. So....given that 64/65 is still plenty young for rock-and-roll, I still find it hard to believe that the last chapter has been written for Rush. Believe it. Yep. Mr. Magoo ain’t walkin’ thru that door.
  16. I think we can blame Neil's standoffishness for the lack of attack posts so far. I would blame him if he wasn't so damn aloof! Aloof I say!
  17. Unless it's used thusly: Luke left an Upper Dooku in the Falcon because he was mad at Han. Then it's ok.
