I would not mind him singing too much. His voice wasn't too bad on the Clockwork Angels album and he sang the songs from that album pretty good live. It is the older material that he struggles with.Whatever he does I hope it doesn't include him singing because as most of us here admit, he really can't anymore

That's for alcoholics. Oh sorry, you were talking to Earl. You got it right then, carry on.Take it one day at a time, man! Good luck to you and Earl IV!

Stay safe Earl! I hope the fires do not get too close to you. It would be a shame if the caps lock on your keyboard melted.

I wish everyone in the area well and hope the fires stay contained and are put out soon!

It seems to be really bad there for fires every year. I don't really know anything about what prevenitive measures are taken to try and prevent the fires. Do they cut clearings in the forests to try and prevent the fires from speading too close to residential areas?

Watch what you say in this thread. I see a scolding coming.I don't care for his voice or style. Just me. Others really enjoy him so to each his own. Cheers!

Life must be pretty sweet when this constitutes having a bad day. :PI started a thread too. I'll ask The Boss to delete it.
Well it's exciting news!
I even started it in the wrong section too.
It's not a good day.

I checked out some info for you and this seems to be the most informative thing I found. It seems like it would not be too difficult to get medical marijuana in New Jersey. It is not even necessary to get a doctor to approve it for you. You can get a doctor's assistant or a nurse to approve it for you also. I think that just telling them that it is for stress management might be enough. Basically, it sounds like you could just call a doctor's receptionist and she/he could tell you over the phone if you could get approval from them. How do I medical weed in NJ? Is it easy?

Exactly, they are all full of shit!LIke others, his subdivisions cover was very good, but this is the wrong song to cover acoustically. Just sounds like annoying coffee shop drivel.
I don't like the Subdivisions cover either. These covers seem very pretentious to me. But I do give him credit for trying something different.
When I hear “pretentious” in the context of music, I automatically think of Justin Timberlake covering those Prince songs at the SuperBowl last year.
But you know, opinions are like buttholes and all that.

Also, about 89, 000 of those posts were polls he created.Congratulations on becoming the first poster to 90,000 who didn't do it by posting in the spam threads for the vast majority of their posts...
Congratulations to our resident Metal Head!

I had to have surgery on one of my butt cheeks last week. The doctor did a real half-assed job.

Actually, they kicked the girl out of the room because she tried to take the bag off of Alex's head. They toured with KI$$.
Didn't Jean $immons brings girls to Rush's room only to have Alex scare them off with "The Bag"? (Not sure where I read that....)

I can't wait for the album to come out in November. This is a pretty damn good song considering it's by two guy's in their mid-seventies. It has a very classic Townshend/Who sound.

Yeah, more of them see it because the percentage of people who read comic books fanatically from our generation was probably not that high.
I don't really think it is the millennials that even get the most excited about the super-hero movies, I think that it is people from our generation like you and I that read these comic books fanatically when we were kids.Millennials have been brainwashed to believe that if it’s not from Disney, a remake, reboot, sequel that it doesn’t matter.
I’m not a millennial but your definition of “brainwashing” is different from mine. Hollywood makes anything they think will be an easy sell. Why wouldn’t they? Most of it is certainly shit imho but where’s the brainwashing?
Actually, the 18 to 34 demo edges out our generation.

After only a few listens I can truly say that this is a great album and an improvement on Yynot's debut album which I like a lot. It has much better production and mixing than the debut which I find sounds a little thin. The writing overall is more sophisticated and the musicianship shines on a pretty constant basis on Guitar, bass and drums. There is definitely a jazzier feel to many of the jams in the songs and all the songs on the album seem to flow into one another in a totally cohesive manner. There is really nothing bad that I can say about this album. It will definitely get plenty of listens from me.

He will soon forget about this bad ordeal once he goes to band camp. ;)Okay, so this is all after an episode of severe disappointment- my son was in a marching band competition at Ohio Stadium in front of about 20,000 people last Saturday night, and right at the very beginning of their set, he dislocated his kneecap and sprained his MCL...but he kept going, through the whole ten or eleven minutes that their show lasted, playing, marching, limping the whole way through. But he was in no shape to travel back home with the band on the buses, so I brought him home in the car (about an hour and a half drive), and straight to the hospital...I took him to an orthopedist on Monday, which is when we found out specifically what happened, what the injury was- there will be weeks of physical therapy, and he’s getting an MRI done today. It would appear that his marching season is pretty much over.
HOWEVER- at this stage, five days after the incident, his progress has been swift; better than anyone could have expected up to this point. He saw a physical therapist yesterday, who said if the MRI comes back with encouraging results, he may actually be able to march again before the season is out. State finals are the first weekend in November, and while I’m not pushing for him to be ready for anything if he’s just not physically ready- I know he wants to be back out there again; I know he’s extremely disappointed right now.
Tomorrow they are going to another competition, at Vanderbilt University, and he is not able to participate. But he was cleared for the bus ride to Nashville with all of his bandmates (it’s about 5-6 hours one way), and I’ll be driving down separately and bringing him home.
I’m just thrilled that he’s going to be there with them, and I’m glad that he’s emotionally ready to do it. He is usually a very affable type of person, but his frustration and disappointment have really been doing a number on him, in addition to the pain of just getting around. But he has decided to go, just to be there with all of his bandmates. And I’m so excited to be able to be there with him, too.
We are supremely hopeful that another four weeks from now, he’ll be ready to compete in the state finals and end the season on a very high note.

I don't know if I would want to spend the day with any of them because it would probably feel forced and awkward, but let's just say I met one of them having a drink in a bar and started having a few drinks, then it would definitely be Alex because I think we'd have a lot of laughs together.

They have the right to release whatever they want, but if they are just going rehash the same old stuff in different formats I have no interest. The problem with re-releasing Rush material is that there's not much new stuff to offer . We've been told that there were no throwaway songs, or alternates.
But then again, there ARE the Power Windows Demos that leaked out.... maybe it's more that the band doesn't want us to hear the actual rough cuts.
Either way, Rush re-releases are getting pretty boring, IMO.

I would go with Blazing Saddles because I don't remember History of the World all that well, I just remember that when I saw it around 40 years ago I did not think it was one of Mel Brooks' better movies.
