  1. Anyone tried this at the USANA ampitheater in Salt Lake City? And couldn't somebody do this at any venue, not just the one they are attending?
  2. Earplugs are a must at every concert for me, but that is probably because I am old! I don't know why concerts have to be so loud, I saw Overkill (thrash metal band) at Portland's Roseland Theater a couple of years ago and the sound was perfect and I didn't use earplugs but every other concert I have been to is ridiculously loud. You young people should listen to your elders and use earplugs, you will thank us later.
  3. That's me! If they continue their current pattern, I will get Limelight in SLC and will be quite annoyed! I don't see what my weight has to do with this though :P
  4. I agree with this, I thought Geddy sounded ragged on the Time Machine tour (8-5-2010) but great on the CA tour (11-14-2012). It might have helped that the CA tour was the first show after a 10 day break. I think the boys realize they can't do as much as they used to, that is why they take a lot of 10 day breaks and have cut the show length substantially by having ridiculously long and unnecessary (IMHO) intro and outro videos. These really need to go or at least get better.
  5. Just bought tickets for Salt Lake City to see my 10th show and still haven't been able to get closer than the 7th row that I got for the Time Machine tour. I have been averaging better than 11th row for the last few shows so it could certainly be worse, would love to see just one front row show though.
  6. I agree with the OP. I wanted to hear Middletown Dreams live forever and never thought I would have the chance. I was lucky enough the rotation worked out for me and I got to see it in Seattle last year. If I had got Limelight instead, I would have been pissed. I am still wondering what the rotation will be for the rest of this year and since it seems Rush will never visit my town again, I have to travel to shows anyway so it would be nice to know what setlists are in which towns so I could plan my travel accordingly.
  7. There's no guarantee they will even do the A-B rotating sets this time around, this might be the only set for all we know. And I would be OK with that even though I already saw set B in Seattle.
  8. Wish I could get it but I have to go to this show with friends, curse them!
  9. I would echo those who say "Don't bring a sign!" It is extremely annoying to everyone behind you.
  10. Rush is still too popular for something like this to happen anytime soon and given their age, I doubt it ever will happen.
  11. When did you get those? That is exactly what I am looking for, I would even settle for the front row of any 200 level section.
  12. Good luck, Salt Lake has the most corrupt ticketing system in existence. There have been exactly zero 100 level seats on sale at all since the public sale started, except of course for their new flash seats program where they are selling 102 second row seats for $350. I have had good luck with waiting for a long time for good seats to come out for SLC shows, they always do eventually.
  13. I hope not just so the jerk in front of me at the last show I saw holding up his stupid R40 sign for half the show will be disappointed. Please pardon the obnoxious half of myself, the rest of me would love to see an R40 show too.
  14. The ticket agency here (Smithstix in Idaho/Utah) isn't even pretending that this process is remotely fair anymore. When tickets went on sale half an hour ago, they started a premium seating listing that has lots of second row seats all starting at $375 each. They are set up in an auction type format too. This is outrageous, where did all these seats magically come from, I wonder? It has been almost half an hour now and there have been exactly zero lower 100 level seats offered.
  15. People need to realize that ticket availability is a complete scam and try to work the system. For instance, I attended November's show in Seattle. I had faith that good seats would magically open up on Ticketmaster the week of the show. The day before the show I got 11th row for me and my friend who traveled with me. These tickets were obviously available the whole time and yet never showed up in listings until the day before?!? It has been obvious to me for years that ticket agencies make seats available on a drip feed and you are never seeing the real availability picture, even on the good stadiums like Seattle where you can pick your seats on an interactive map. For S&A, I didn't get tickets in advance at all, just traveled to the venue and got to pick from a nice selection from a scalper outside. Only cost me $5 more than face value. For the TM tour, I got 7th row face value from the box office three weeks in advance. I know tl;dr, but the bottom line is you don't need to rush (HA!) making a ticket purchase, new tickets are always made available closer to the show.
  16. They are a Pink Floyd tribute band, with visuals and what not officially licensed from Pink Floyd.
  17. Am I the only person who met lots of Rush fans at a Vegas show and had a great time? I remember seeing Rush at the Thomas and Mack Center back in '96 and there were both pre and post-show parties at Moose Mcguillicuddies, a nearby bar that was packed with Rush fans. I wonder if the lame crowds coincided with the move to the MGM.
  18. What is the Orbit Room, is it a bar Alex owns or something?
  19. Trailer Park Boys were filmed in Halifax I believe. I was at Acadia National Park just 15 or so miles from Halifax a few years back and it is a beautiful area.
  20. I love when I'm right. To be fair, rocketom said pretty much the same thing. I love when he's right too :D
  21. I would be surprised if that is true, I would think they would wait until the end of the tour to release it, like they have for every other concert video ever.
  22. Broadway shows were cheap when I went to NYC three years ago, saw Wicked for under $40 although it was in the back row. Your sig pic is awesome at Rush Road, I don't know how many times I have driven by that but I was lazy and just took a pic of the sign from the car.
  23. Encores have been a joke for as long as I have been going to concerts and I am old, as rocketom says they are really just part of the setlist and a traditional thing. This isn't just with Rush, it's with everybody. As for multiple encores, those are really just as planned as any others. This summer I saw Dead Can Dance with my wife who had a planned 3 encores and it was ridiculous.
  24. You are forgetting that seating capacity is significantly less for a concert than for a hockey or basketball game since the area behind the stage and where the stage sits is roped off. The ScottTrade Center in St. Louis seats around 20,000 for hockey but in this thread is listed as seating 10,942 for the Rush concert, similar to the Target Center.
