  1. I really need to reactivate my Dime account. Are there good videos available for the CA tour? Lately I have done what Zumbi says and just wait for the official vid but the last couple have not been good.
  2. You were not out of line, that would really piss me off too. I have never seen that at a music or really any kind of theater performance. Only at sporting events, where it should stay.
  3. I even like CA but the sound is terrible on the recent live recordings, very hard to listen to.
  4. At least phrase your analogy properly, what you are trying to say is Triumph is to Rush as Battlestar Galactica is to Star Wars. Now back to your previously scheduled discussion.
  5. What is on the poster?
  6. That explains why my after show chickens are always severely undercooked.
  7. I can see the OPs point, WYD is my least favorite song on ATWAS. It's great they're busting out something from way back, but I think In the End would have been much better for the end of the show. Especially because well, you know...
  8. Perfect! Thank you! Does anyone have this for Nebraska? I can do this for Lincoln tonight. The show was downloading when I left for work this morning. Gonna have to take Tulsa down to make room, though, so anyone who wants it, grab it while it's still there. Argh, I want to get Tulsa but won't be able to start downloading it until about midnight ET tonight. Please leave Tulsa up one more day!
  9. Front row tickets have been available for Salt Lake City for around $1200 ever since the show went on sale through ticketmaster's complete sham of a resale policy.
  10. Totally agree, they should stick to what they do best, which is music. The only videos I liked were the one where Neil woke up with a bad dream and the Jerry Stiller one just because Jerry Stiller is awesome. The hit percentage is so low I wish they would just get rid of the opening/closing/intermission videos entirely.
  11. Very true, CA was far superior to TFE and VT and I even like VT. If it gets 4 songs and specifically the 4 songs alluded to, I will have no complaints.
  12. Very suprised about Vancouver. I'm not, I saw Rush in Vancouver in '97 and it was far from a full house.
  13. I agree but with the prices they charge, there needs to be more than one song I have never heard live before. That's why I loved the CA tour, they brought out a lot of deep cuts and it helps that I loved the CA album too. 2/3 of that show was brand new material (to me at least) so I loved it. I'll wait to see the final setlist before judging this tour.
  14. I hate you for seeing that show would have loved to see it as it's one of my all time favorite bootlegs.
  15. I would take out Kid Gloves and Chemistry and substitute Afterimage and The Weapon and you have a great show there.
  16. I agree with you performance-wise but the recording on ESL is just atrocious. So I choose the 1980 St. Louis version, which is pretty close.
  17. Very well said, I read the Fountainhead out of curiosity and had much the same thoughts, it was philosophy disguised as very poor fiction. In addition, I was disgusted at Rand writing her rape fantasies into the book and was not at all surprised to find out after reading it that she had a lot of serious personal problems. Her philosophy panders to people who think they are better than everyone else.
  18. This thread or the song?
  19. Depending on your snobbiness and your budget, the audiophile crowd is giving rave reviews to the 12 months of Rush vinyl releases that have come out this year. FBN and CoS were both very well received and the rest of the Mercury albums will come out once a month or so for the rest of this year. For the vinyl-challenged or vinyl-hating people out there, these new masterings are also available in HD sound (up to 24 bit/192KHZ) from HDTracks.com and other vendors of HD sound. Please note you need proper playback equipment if you want to buy and get the most out of these files.
  20. I think you were better off missing the Genesis shows. Live footage I have seen from that tour was not good, I hope Rush retires before they ever get to that point.
  21. Please post if you find out anything, I am going to the SLC show too and pondering trying out this autograph thing as well. This might be my last chance!
  22. Interestingly, the SLC show now lets you pick your own seats but when tix first went on sale, they did not.
  23. Bring earplugs and I would also recommend a pair of boots. My wife is an inch shorter than the OP and never can see anything from the floor. We went to a Depeche Mode show a couple of years ago and saw a woman with a huge pair of boots that must have boosted her height at least 4-5 inches. Not just the heels, it was like a pair of heavy duty combat boots. You'll probably wish you had a pair.
  24. Totally agree, Rush opening for Kiss just doesn't seem like a good mix. Was the entirety of the CoS tour spent opening for Kiss? All the talk about low ticket sales could be blamed on Kiss as well if so. As to CoS, I love it!
  25. When I see entire rows of my show all marked as resale and with ridiculous prices, you know there's shady stuff going on. This happens at almost every arena show though, everyone just needs to be patient and don't start seriously looking until about three weeks before the show. With the VIP scam, you know seats in the first 15 rows will not pop up until TM realizes not everyone will pay those ridiculous prices and they release them back into the general sale , which seems to happen about three weeks before the show. This has happened at every Rush show I have seen since the VIP scam began.
