  1. Give it a chance. I think it may be your cup of tea. For me it's like that other stuff you listen too, same sort of sensibilities, but much more tastefully done. I can see for miles and miles and miles
  2. The Different Stages version reigns supreme. Constant rotation in my car, as you seem to have here
  3. Weird Science. What a great film. ''You told me you were combing your hair''
  4. His models were legendary, along with his bananas . ORF came across as a genuine nice guy. RIP ORF.
  5. Kurt Curtwood. Love their songs though. I guess the Meat Puppets come under the umbrella of''Grunge'', so continue the Grunge trend of bad vocalists.
  6. Owed T' Alex Beefheart The Damned Curtain Call Holdsworth Zabereth Zappa; Outside Now - Broadway The Hardway N.M.A. Great Disguise Leonard Cohen The Future Joy Division Atrocity Exhibition Van Halen Drop Dead Legs Fishbone Sunless Saturday Slayer Supremist
  7. The Cars, love that album. Blondie was such a beautiful woman tho, just wow!
  8. Bush copied Nirvana (Grunge band) more obviously to me anyway. Maybe it's because I don't like Bush, preferring STP. Silverchair are also there -on the Grunge bandwagon, I kind of like them too. Gavins voice annoys me.
  9. The 80's were a great time for the WWF, so many great characters, the Sheik being one of them. RIP.
  10. Or does the emotional turbulence that the creator has been through, make a difference on how the music is projected? I'd like to think the truth is somewhere between.
  11. No it's not the vocals, but the music. It seemed scripted, sound by numbers after TCaTS. Not on the this new record tho. Take for instance The Teacher. Dave hardly breaks a sweat with a dead pan vocal delivery for the most part. But for me the meandering nature of the song, the lyrics, make it one of the most compelling songs they've done for a while. It almost sounds delivered in defeat, while also not caring where it goes in it's expression. Other songs have a similar vibe. Never got this on their records between this one and TCATS.
  12. Glad to hear I'm not the only one. FF's albums sounded like the were just going through the motions. It's for this reason I couldn't understand how they were so popular. This latest offering seems to buck that.
  13. That's exactly what I thought upon listening to this - same energy as the debut. I rarely listened to FF's after TCATS. There's an attitude on this album, just doing what it wants. Lots of FF's albums seem heavily scripted to me, going through the motions. This doesn't IMO. I'll defo be listening to this again and again.
  14. I went off Foo Fighters after The Color And The Shape. Loved the debut. This latest album sounds fantastic. There's an attitude of not giving a f... IMO. It's emotionally charged compelling, going where it wants, proggy in places. Other F F's albums seem heavily scripted to me. This new album seems a force of nature. It's early days but I think it could be their best work. I'm still not a fan of their previous work, rarely, if at all, listening to it. Listening to The Teacher right now. I think I'll come back to this album again and again.
  15. Heaven knows I'm miserable now. RIP Andy. Thanks for all the great basslines, a solid musical foundation if ever there was one.
  16. Check out The Comedy Club episodes as some has mentioned. Tho the Bad News episode seems the best. imo.
