  1. Try to look at the positives, I suppose, at least she wants to work and is able to get her job back at McDonald's. I'm on disability because of my Epilepsy but would so much rather be getting up in the morning and doing ANY kind of work. At least the income from a job at McDonald's would be better than what little I get from disability. I'm not afraid of a hard day's work but apparently, anywhere I've applied, they've been afraid to hire someone with Epilepsy. The most important thing for you and her both is for her not to stop working if she can help it. Not working or being able to work is a mindset I wish I had never fallen into. My health and lifestyle have both suffered greatly from not working at all. The self esteem loss is the hardest thing for me to deal with. At this point in time, the trade-off between giving up disability and taking any job at all is crazy especially for someone with a disability, with disability, at least I get Medicare and help with my prescription meds for my Epilepsy which aren't cheap!
  2. I'd like to smoke a joint every now and then because of my Epilepsy but can't afford to or can't get a Dr's script for it but, like a dumb-ass, I still smoke cigarettes. Your post has inspired me to make a serious attempt at quitting. Getting my Father to quit with me would be a bonus, my Father sang for a living and still smokes. We still keep making the same hypocritical threat to each other to quit, we should both quit together. I'm sorry to hear about your family, the next could be my own.
  3. No seizures today, I feel like I've been sleeping a lot lately which is unusual for me...

  5. St Valentine and others - patron saints of epilepsy QUOTE St Valentine is recognized in the Christian world as the patron saint of epilepsy. But who was he and why did he become particularly linked to epilepsy? (I have Epilepsy) www.epilepsy.org.uk
  6. I remember listening to this LIVE on the radio in 1980, I still have it on cassette somewhere!
  7. QUOTE (Drumnut @ Apr 26 2010, 12:07 AM)Donna Halper has a Facebook page Rush Discovery: An Interview With Donna Halper QUOTE Without Donna Halper, Rush may have never been anything more than a Toronto bar band. In 1974, Donna was the Music Director of WMMS in Cleveland, Ohio. After receiving a copy of Rush's first album from a Canadian record promoter, Donna got "Working Man" on the airwaves, the phones lit up with curiosity, and the rest is history. It was the first Rush song to ever hit American ears and got the ball rolling for the band's now legendary 30 year plus career. To put it bluntly, Donna discovered Rush. She published her fond memories of these early days with the band and I highly recommend it to fans interested in this era. I was eager to interview Donna not only for her recollections of Rush's origins, but also to get her opinion on the band now and of the music industry in general. Donna currently lives in Boston, is a radio consultant, broadcast historian, and an instructor at several colleges. She has been feeling a bit unhealthy lately and I appreciate her taking time to answer some questions. Donna Halper (Her page shows if you do a search for Donna Halper @ Facebook) Wish Donna Halper a Happy Birthday on Facebook!!! http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t313/corvettenut/Rush-B-Cake.jpg Donna Halper on Facebook
