  1. I need to call my Dr in the morning, I had another big seizure this morning.
  2. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Oct 20 2011, 08:17 AM)QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Oct 20 2011, 11:10 AM) QUOTE (Drumnut @ Oct 19 2011, 11:43 PM) Still seizure-free, I wish I could have had this surgery 10 years ago. I know you do...but I'm so glad you are doing great NOW. That's great news! Thank you, still doing great! My surgery was May 5, 2011, NV state law is 3 months seizure-free and with a letter from my Dr, I'm allowed to drive! (Now all I need is a job and a car!)

Thank you! After trying to live with Epilepsy and failing miserably, having surgery to control my seizures feels overwhelming sometimes. I'm now a Traumatic Brain Injury survivor and have a second chance at life!

  6. QUOTE (ridertoo98 @ Jul 18 2011, 03:32 AM)Great glad to hear you are doing ok. That wasnt just a boo boo you had .LOL Thanks, I still have tender moments from time to time, the most "tender" of which being when my "new" baby sister kitties
  7. No seizures since my surgery on May 5, 2011 and at a my last appointment, we started to reduce my medications. I've been sleeping a bit more and was told to expect to be tired and to take things as they come and not to overdo things. I'm on disability now and Medicare paid for most of my surgery. When I lived here in Vegas a few years ago, I was working, had full coverage insurance through my employer and was seeing the same Neurologist. Had I been offered this surgery then, I would have had it. I was better controlled with meds but was still having seizures. I don't know why I wasn't offered it then, this surgery isn't anything new when it comes to Epilepsy surgery. One way or the other, it's done, this is the longest seizure-free period I've had in years!
  8. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Jun 9 2011, 01:00 AM)QUOTE (Drumnut @ Jun 9 2011, 03:40 AM) Still no seizures! Maybe I just want to come back faster from this but I'm still sleeping a lot and tire easily... Awesome! How weird is it to go this long without one? It has been strange, when I was having them on a more "regular" basis, I could sleep for days at a time after a bad one including the ambulance ride to the ER and a 1-3 day stay in the hospital sometimes.
  9. Still doing well after surgery, no seizures! I'm still sleeping like a log but weird hours which is nothing unusual for me, up all night and sleep all day. I guess this confirms I'm a night person, either that or a Ware-wolf!
  10. Shoot, just missed this one by thaaaat much. Just came home from the show a little while ago, my seats weren't bad but floor seats might have been nice...

Still no seizures and feeling better every day! I do have my moments of pain and tiredness but I'm still happy with the fact that I haven't had any seizures!
  12. Yep, I saw "Let There Be Rock" in Washington, DC on it's original run. I do also have a very well preserved VHS original that hasn't been played many times. I made a good VHS copy for myself so I can watch it any time I want. (Yes, that means I have a working VHS player in good condition. )
  13. Still no seizures! Maybe I just want to come back faster from this but I'm still sleeping a lot and tire easily...
  14. Still doing good, no seizures!!! I've been tired and doing a lot of sleeping but I was told to expect it after a surgery like this.
  15. QUOTE (ridertoo98 @ May 12 2011, 03:32 AM)Glad you are doing better. The life before had to be crzy. Best to you.! Thank you, I'm doing better as far as surgery recovery goes, I HAVE NOT had any seizures since my surgery!!! My life has been crazy for a long time trying to live WITH having seizures! This surgery is intended to get them under control and eventually off of all meds! I still feel like I just had brain surgery BUT, I did just have brain surgery!
  16. QUOTE (Digital Man @ May 11 2011, 05:16 AM)Glad to hear you came through good and everything looks to be going great for you. Here's to more good news. Thanks DM, it's been a tough past few days but it's getting better! I'm taking it slow but trying to do more and more every day as my head will allow! This has been an ordeal but hopefully the outcome is worth the effort of sticking my head in and all the support I've received from my family and the wonderful surgeons and staff at: www.thespinebrain.com here in Las Vegas, NV. (Thanks for your replies everyone, I see a lot of posts to follow up on)
  17. Don't have a pic today yet, I had all the staples removed today and My Dr say's everything looks good! Best part of all? NO SEIZURES!!!
  18. QUOTE (Raider917 @ May 8 2011, 10:42 PM)was your incision on the side of the skull or more towards the centre? Looking at my face, the incision starts at the top of my forehead over my left eye and goes up and then down and around to just above my right ear lobe on the side of my face. So I would say, it starts in the center and ends on the side. Hopefully, this is it, this will get my seizures under control and down to taking a minimum of medication. http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t313/corvettenut/staplespicforEforum.jpg Hopefully, this picture gives you a better idea.

I'm trying to fall asleep but all these cute young nurses keep coming in asking me if there's anything I need!?!? It's almost like biting my tongue when I have a seizure, I'm sure there are a few things I could say but they're liable to get me thrown out of the hospital!!! what part of the brain was the surgery performed? i had left temperal lobe surgery for petit mal seizures in 1997 and I have been seizure free since then. were you petit mal or grand mal? My surgery was performed on my Right Temporal Lobe. My seizures are/we're Gran Mal, big, long, painful, ones! Hopefully now, this should help keep them under control with a minimum of meds! I'm so glad and excited to hear you're still seizure free! It gives me hope that there's a chance for me yet!!! I'm still in recovery right now, just taking it one hour at a time. i am still suprised how effective it has been for me. i hope your feeling better after this. the swelling lasted about a week after surgery for me. i remember being dazed for a couple of days but everything came back. i worried something would be different about the way i just think afterwards (even though the surgeons told me not too) but there really isnt any change besides the absence of seizures. I hope I am able to say the same here in the near future! I'm still a little sore and swollen from the surgery but they gave me something to help control the pain. I've been using an ice pack to help control the swelling. I'm sure once I have the staples removed, more of the swelling will go down and hopefully, the pain will go with it.
  20. Been there, done that! Capital Centre, Washington D.C.
