  1. As much as I love Alex and the diversity in his playing...I will be voting for EVH. The reason I wanted to learn how to play guitar came after I heard EVH for the first time. I don't think I'm alone in saying that for me and a lot of guitar players around my age, 44, that Edward was a huge influence and the biggest reason to pick up the guitar in the first place. Either way there is no denying that both are fantastic players.
  2. QUOTE (hermy @ Sep 12 2012, 08:28 PM)2 camera shot of the Garden: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcscDeH02fw Wow...fantastic!!! Can't wait to hear it live for myself. Thanks for sharing...

  4. QUOTE (rayrushray @ Sep 12 2012, 09:16 AM)....and don't carry much expectation going to see it. No offense taken here and after all, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but what rubs me a bit raw is the quote above. After seeing the set list from opening night and then Virginia, I am happier than a clam. Power Windows was the first Rush album I got into along with my very first concert. To this day, Power Windows, Presto, Counterparts, etc. are what I play most often when listening to Rush. I also love Clockwork Angels so suffice it to say, I have high expectations that the Newark show will be fantastic. Plus...having seen Rush 21 times since Power Windows, I can honestly say I have never experienced a "weak effort" from them. Maybe the Rush fanboy in me is clouding my judgement but I have taken several non-Rush fan to shows since the Vapor Trails tour and everyone of them has always commented on how professional and hard working the band comes off live. If you want to see "weak effort", check out some of the youtube footage of Van Halen, my other favorite band, durng their 2004 & 2005 reunion tour with Sammy Hagar. I know I don't post much here either but I just felt like it today.
  5. IF there was an opening band for Rush ever again, it should be Steel Panther...
  6. No chance of ever reaching 100... 21 times here. My first was back in 1986 on the Power Windows tour in NJ. Marillion (a quick Google check indicates they are still alive and kickin') opened for them and they recorded some of the show for A Show Of Hands. Show 20 on the Snakes tour was in Hershey...in the front row!!! What a fantastic evening and a good way to mark my 20th show!!! I will be going to at least one this tour, possibly two...we shall see.
  7. Downloaded the leak...bought the CD and the digital release on Amazon. Might buy the vinyl although I would then have to start collecting all of the vinyls... Obviously my cat Peanut is listening intently and by the look on her face...diggin' it immensly...as I am... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7226/7185417627_1081fddf74_c.jpg CA-1 by KingBobYJr, on Flickr
  8. I got the package today also. One problem...no shirt...everything else was there but the shirt. There is an 800 # on the package...going to call them and find out where the shirt is. This should be fun...wonder how this will end...
  9. I also have received nothing yet. I got the email stating it was shipped on 7/15. Hopefully we get them some time this year....
  10. Have fun jacob's ladder Be safe and try to stay cool...it is going to be a very hot day & night. rocks...
  11. Agreed.... Caravan and BU2B rocked big time at Camden. They played them with such a high level of energy, despite the unbearable heat and humidity that night. Since the Vapor Trails tour I get the feeling they go out and play like that particular show may be their last. Someone else on these boards said they mail nothing in and I agree. They give 100% and I appreciate that and count myself lucky to be able to see them every chance I get. rocks...
  12. Just wanted to share some photos I took from the 7/21/2010 show at Susquehanna Bank Arena down in Camden, NJ. Hope you enjoy!!! Rush 7/21/2010 Susquehanna Bank Arena Even know the heat and humidity was off the charts and there were a few mistakes by the boys, I thought the show was absolutely fantastic. Alex was on fire and very playful all night long. The band seemed very energetic despite the heat. I didn't peek at the set list. This was very hard to do considering I browse these forums a ton lately and had a co-worker wanting to spoil it for me on a daily basis. Highlights for me were Marathon, Presto, Faithless & BU2B. In reality, the whole show worked for me (the 1st set, the 2nd set, the encore, the changes to Closer To the Heart, La Villa & Working Man...the whole kitten kaboodle). I love being able to see perform with such energy and musicanship and I hope I have the opportunity to see them for quite some years to come. rocks...
  13. Last night in Camden...Alex was having a grand old time. He was very animated. I thought the heat/humidity might sap away his energy and the bands, but that just wasn't the case. Hopefully someone will post some Youtube videos showing his antics. rocks!!!
  14. Does anyone know what time the lots open at? What about the gates to get in? Thanks!!!! rocks!!!
  15. Camden usually gets ranked as one of the worst/most dangerous cities in NJ and the US. Last I heard they get these ranking by crime statistics. Last year Camden had 2,333 violent crimes per 100,000 people. The US national average is 455 violent crimes per 100,000 people. After saying all of that, I have been to numerous shows in Camden and have never felt unsafe down around the arena and the aquarium.
