  1. QUOTE (goose @ Jun 21 2012, 10:23 PM) The Debt...a film about capturing a NAZI surgeon sadist. Worth seeing once. Quirky. ...and... War Horse. Worth watching again. Saw both of those recently myself. Saw Brave today. The movie flew by.

    YYZ

    Thanks for posting that.
  4. Nice work! Is that a comp with some autotrace in Illustrator? Is that the clock tower in Jodhpur? Good Choice.

  6. QUOTE (Cygnus The God Of Balance @ Jun 19 2012, 05:26 PM) I ripped the song into Adobe Audition to try to figure it out. It's hard to make everything out, because of the music behind it. I will put it up for everyone to listen to to try to figure out what it is, unless someone already has done it... 4 posts above yours.
  7. QUOTE (Cowtothesky @ Jun 19 2012, 02:12 PM) Wow. A lot of anti-Sandler peeps here... I'm not a huge fan, but I do enjoy some of his films. They are a nice departure from the same old crap that is put out there. I thought Grown-ups was funny as hell. I loved Happy Gilmore and can quote a lot of that movie. 50 first dates was a great film. I think he just enjoys making comedies and having fun with his cast and crew. Some of his films were pretty lame, I admit. But, the occasional gem here and there is worth it. I agree. I'll watch Happy Gilmore every time it's on and happen to flip by. Same with 50 First Dates. But That's My Boy just has a stink to it. It's not going to be good imo.
  8. It's the opening verse and "to the angels high aboooooove." Oh and the very end of the song, before What do you lack, Geddy's chant is "Spiritual machinery." Reversed of course.
  9. QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Jun 19 2012, 12:55 PM)QUOTE (andrew28 @ Jun 19 2012, 10:43 AM) It's only a matter of time before someone in this group isolates the chanting, runs it through Pro Tools and reverses it to figure out what he's saying. We are Rush fans after all. I already did that. RTFT. Yes. Nailed it. I really like that the very beginning of the song, the first 7 seconds or so is Geddy singing to the angels high above. Reversed. If this violates copyright feel free to delete mods but it's just the first few seconds reversed. ortni slegnA krowkcolC
  10. I wholeheartedly agree that it is an intentional artistic touch to imply the ticking of a clock as well as a count in. Thought so the first time I heard it. It is just the type of touch that Rush is known for. And as for it being too fast for a clock just check out a stop watch or the opening of 60 minutes.
  11. Thanks everyone. And I can't wait to see everybody else's.
  12. Just thought I'd share my interpretation that I get from the lyrics of CA. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e372/biffmalibu01012/Rush%20forum/3D%20STUFF/CA_Doodle.jpg
  13. I think it will just be a string section not a full orchestra. There's no need for that. But I think Losing it would be awesome!
  14. No Rush show on your birthday? That sucks. Happy Birthday anyway!
  15. I just learned his one today on guitar. Fun song. Too bad the solo fades out.
  16. Nice. It's sounds tighter for sure. And thanks for the mini tutorial.

    The Garden

QUOTE (snowdog2112 @ Jun 14 2012, 07:47 AM) There are tons of women shown in the Time Machine dvd. They're in every crowd shot. I think that "no women" stereotype has outlived its usefulness. Maybe true, but I took a friend to his first Rush show for Time Machine, and he couldn't get over the fact there was a huge line for the men's restroom and none for the women's. Only time he'd ever seen that.
  18. Not so much Forest Gumpian, I think it more closely resembles one of my favorite movies, The Jerk. I also think you should always dig deeper into the lyrics of a Rush album. If you don't, you're short changing yourself intellectually. Rush is, after all, rock and roll for people who read.

    The Anarchist

I like it a lot. What is being said at the 35 second mark?
  20. Agreed. I've always thought they sound best when just the three of them are jamming. Like the solo in Lock and Key, or even when Geddy adds the keys with his feet, but not much more than that. I mean it's cool in the studio but it just doesn't hold up as well live imo.
  21. Interesting notion but I only see it happening with a different producer.
  22. QUOTE (trenken @ Jun 13 2012, 06:40 AM)The images inside are interesting, but some look like Photoshop work to me. They just have that digitally produced look to them that Im not used to with Hugh. He usually created custom paintings or does photography shoots, and some of these look pieced together in Photoshop. Not his best work by a mile. First time I saw the art I knew a lot had been Photoshopped. The Pedlar in particular kinda bugs me cause the cart isn't grounded, There's no shadow and it looks as if it's floating. Lots of little things like that. But it's easy to criticize and hard to create so... I'm working on my own City Square image. We'll see.
