  2. QUOTE (bluefox4000 @ Jul 27 2012, 03:10 PM) Picturing Ged pulling out a megaphone sent me into a fit of giggles.....don't know why Mick That part is lame to begin with....can't understand anything he says. It would be cheesy as hell if he pulled out a megaphone live.

  4. QUOTE (Tombstone Mountain @ Jul 27 2012, 10:32 AM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jul 27 2012, 11:30 AM) if there is another album i'd like to see someone different in the mix. If it aint broke do mess with it There are some production issues with it....you, being in the Rush marketing/promotions dept. must be aware of that. C'mon now
  5. QUOTE (Mr. IsNot @ Jul 27 2012, 12:06 AM) It is indeed a great album.. A step up from 2, and I don't think 1 will ever be topped. The bass line for March of the Trolls... yes sir, agree...

Lots of average and meh reviews. It does contain a couple good songs but doesn't compare to their best records. I find that surprising, but I will not let if affect my opinion whatsoever. I find every song on the album amazing. Nor should you. Any King's X is good King's X. XV didn't grab me when I first got it and it's the only record I don't know very well. Maybe I need to give it another shot. I like XV quite a bit. It's a varied album, and I see it more like a collaborated work by Dug Ty and Jerry rather than a King's X album. Same here....it's not one of their best....but is pretty good. It's like a collection of their solo projects to me. All the Ty songs on it sound like content he'd leave for his solo albums. There's no sign of them working on another studio album together anytime soon and it's been 4 years. I don't know if this is their last album, and I hope it isn't, but if it is it may be a good way to sum things up. King's X Songs on XV 1. Pray 2. Blue 4. Rocket Ship 6. Alright 9. Move 11. Stuck 12. Go Tell Somebody Dug Songs 7. Broke 13. Love and Rockets 14. No Lie Ty Songs 3. Repeating Myself 8. I Just Want to Live 10. I Don't Know Jerry Songs 5. Julie ^ This is most divided album they've made, second being Ear Candy and the rest being standard King's X albums. I wouldn't be surprised if they made one more album....Dug just finished up with Eric Gales and Thomas Pridgen on a new project, and of course Ty was working with Jelly Jam not too long ago....I love Jelly Jam 3, great album....
  7. QUOTE (Enemy Within 77 @ Apr 20 2012, 11:43 PM) QUOTE (adace1 @ Mar 18 2012, 01:41 AM) Also forgot to mention there'll be a new High on Fire album next month called "De Vermis Mysteriis." Here's the first single: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFThXb-ogOk The new album is awesome. Sounds to me like they've gone back to their earlier sound on this one. Matt Pike is a genius! Yes, love it....and can't wait for the new My Dying Bride...

If they did it well, I'd buy it. same here.....at least VT...

I HATE Foo Fighters and really like The Wreckers. interesting..... Put Grohl's vocals on that and it's a FF song....
  13. QUOTE (Priest of Syrinx @ Jul 25 2012, 06:08 PM) You must be new to Rush CA is a fine album, but it is not nearly as good as the CoS -> MP era. He works in the Rush marketing department...

I've been away from the forum for about a week and it seems like in that time the haters have completely taken over! Why is Rush not aloud to write a song with a verse/chorus/bridge alignment (The Wreckers) or a song with a nice bouncy melody (Wish Them Well)? CA is a good if not great balanced record that the guys can be very proud of. I cannot believe that a Forum member would say, "I'd be embarrassed for Rush if they played that song on the radio." What a worthless, obnoxious thing to say. I'm sorry but seriously, as much as I hate Superconductor I would never say I was embarrassed for Rush. What embarrasses me are Rush fans that act like turds every time the guys try to give us something new. Like the new album, hate the new album-- Whatever. But don't for a second feel embarrassed for Rush-- They are a lot better than you! It's sub-par album, and to me The Wreckers is one of the worst tracks....doesn't sound like Rush or represent any aspect of Rush that I like.. I wonder: what is "Par"? Does Rush have Birdie and Eagle albums? Is Test for Echo a double bogey? Subpar - Not measuring up to traditional standards of performance, value, or production, which is basically anything after Presto... Things did take an ominous turn with Presto. did they ever... We were then treated to RTB, CP, and T4E. CP is overrated, it's not even in my top 10. Well I think over 80% have CA in their top ten according to a poll on this very forum. Amazing. Edit: make that 83%. The album just came out......let's see the results in a year.. Will probably be higher. A lot of times it takes a while for Rush records to grow. Very rarely does a Rush record get worse over time with me. I didn't like SnA very much at first listen and it's still not great but now it is more tolerable to me. I like about half. I doubt it.....S&A started out with a pretty decent following, and now it seems that most can't stand it. Let's see though..... Last time I checked the vast majority still love S&A. Only a handful of "Besserwissers" that dont like it. I like it better now than 5 years after its release. vast majority? where are you seeing that?

I do rate it higher than anything that came after it. Their best album (material wise) since Presto is still VT, IMO.....then probably CA....
