  1. A close but not-quite-as-bad (yet) return the the inflation-plagued, energy-strained, racially divisive, crime-ridden 70s isn't what I'd call a measuring stick to be proud of.

Not to mention the clothes were atrocious. Leisure suits. Polyester pants. Bell bottoms. :scared:

I was just gonna say the cars and clothes were kool.

cars from the 70’s sucked. Pintos, vegas, and Pacers, oh my!

I bet that Super Coupe put out a whopping 180 horsepower.

  3. Onalaska, Wisconsin

    $4.099 for unleaded 87

    $4.069 for unleaded 88

I consider myself very lucky. :)

And diesel is over $5.00 in your state. :rage: My Sierra will be sitting quite a bit.

  4. I live near a very big air base and I've been hearing the jets flying training patterns since day before yesterday, about 3-4 times a day and that is unprecedented in my 38 years of living here. As far as the nuclear talk goes, my best estimate for that scenario is, at best, 50-50. My best advice is: trust your instincts. If it makes you feel better to go and buy a pallet of toilet paper and water, then go do it. Anything to give you peace of mind and help you think more clearly. Call loved ones, play with your kids and pets, take your wife out for dinner & dancing, go for a walk in a nice park, and always pray.

They didn’t fly that much during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait?

Neil spent so much time collecting and taking care of those cars, only for them to be auctioned off upon his death.

Just like John Entwistle and his guitars.

When Geddy's time comes, I wonder what would happen with his bass and guitar collection.

    And baseballs, and wine, etc.

I thought the '63 split window Corvette would be the one I'm most interested in but it only has a 327 in it. Pass.

In 63, you could only get a 327. Vettes didn’t get the big block until 65. The 63’s are highly desirable because of the rear split window. They only made that for one year. From a collecting perspective, the 1963 Corvette is the one you want.

    I have an uncle who had a 63 with a 327.

He eventually sold it to a guy who would not leave him alone about it for 6 digits worth of money.

I do not recall a split window on it. Maybe it did have it though.

If it was a 63 hard top, it had the split window. 63 hard tops with 4 speeds will easily fetch six figures. 63s with 4 speeds and the fuel injected 327 are worth crazy money.

63 Corvettes may be the only year where a hard top is worth more than a convertible.

The ranking of Neil's collection from a guy who's taste is more Bandit Trans Am.

Where We Talk the Muscle Cars of the Malaise Era - Malaise Muscle Car

How you rank both Maseratis before the Lambo Maura is beyond me. The Miura was Lambos first “super car”.

  8. I've seen Russian Circles open for Eagles of Death Metal/Mastodon. They were a really great opener. I really liked Blood Year.

I haven't seen Pelican yet, but Australasia is a great starting point with them

    I missed that tour. :(

    I love Mastodon.

  9. Any fans of these two post metal bands? They are very similar bands. Both hail from Chicago. Both make nothing but instrumentals. And the both f***ing rock!

Any thoughts on where to start? I've been going down the 00/10s/20s prog metal rabbit hole and am definitely looking to keep going. Both of these groups have an extensive discography

For Pelican, try “what we all come to need”. Great album.

For the Russian Circles, listen to Geneva. It’s epic!
