  1. QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Sep 17 2007, 10:10 AM) QUOTE (dakota2112 @ Sep 17 2007, 08:43 AM) QUOTE (jazzbass @ Sep 16 2007, 02:18 PM) The voice is saying "Men about oars" That is correct ("men about oars"). As for the "alien chatter" later in the song, I've always wondered what that's all about but have never found a conclusive answer. OK...and now the $50,000 question. What does "men about oars" mean? Is that a crew thing? Hmmm well "men about oars" sounds like the sort of command they might have used back in the days of the slave ships where dudes actually had to row the big assed boat. Men about oars! Get rowing beotches! Between the weird alien voice, the name of the song, and those suggested lyrics it could be the alien captain telling the other dudes to row? Could be one of Neil's clever little play on words - alien and ship? If there is a better guess I'd love to hear it.
  2. 28 - How they can whip up little 'distractions' such as Broon's Bane and just tear your heart apart with them. Truly Rush defines the difference between sound and art.
  3. 10) In "We Hold On" when Geddy sings "Find another road to taaaaaaake!" that makes the hair on my neck stand up every single time. I love that feeling!
  4. Al Gore invented the Internet
  5. Hopefully Harrison will be good enough in this that it will erase the rancid image I have of him doing that stupid assed Dr. Seuss Super Bowl ad with his gay earing and all that. *shudder*
  6. Finally saw it last night! First off I am a massive fan of the horror genre - but so far I had thought Mr. Zombie's first films were absolute garbage. This was a pleasant surprise - thought the movie was great! Fast paced, creepy, gory, good mix of slashing and story line. And Storm Shadow you are right - that throat slashing scene was awesome. Totally loved this movie!
  7. Another real stinker I saw lately was NEXT with Nicky Cage there. The ending was so stupid - I saw it coming about 10 minutes into the movie but never thought they'd end it so poorly. HEAT with Pacino, Kilmer, DeNiro et al was also a REAL stinker. How can you botch things so bad with a stacked cast like that? I was screaming to ahve that 3 hours of my life back when it ended. I am also horrified - IMBD just told me they are in negotiations for a sequel or remake or something at this point. No thanks! I'll pass!

  9. Epic Movie While I really enjoyed the other stoner parody movies like Scary Movie this movie well... wow did it EVER suck. For some reason I watched through to the end but I sure don't recall the thought of laughing ever having crossed my mind. Avoid at all costs. :c]
  10. QUOTE (Storm Shadow @ Sep 12 2007, 10:31 AM) QUOTE (bucky01403 @ Sep 11 2007, 05:12 PM) QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Sep 11 2007, 03:36 PM) I might watch it tonight but I have a "working" version of the movie so apparently bits may be different than the final theatre version - including the ending! Tell me how it is. The workprint version has one of the most badass scenes ever in a Halloween movie. Myers slits a throat while walking by briskly. Shit was awesome! I can't believe they cut it out, but it's gotta make the DVD. Oh man now I QUADRUPLY cant wait to see it!

  14. QUOTE (Sark @ Sep 5 2007, 01:26 PM) QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Sep 5 2007, 09:20 AM) Well the number of concerts should be the NUMBER right not a list.... So it would be something like "eleven" or "2". My "Last Concert Attended is" : June 25th 2007 - Pittsburgh PA - which is over 30 characters... What are you trying to squeeze in there exactly anyways? Just a single digit for the concerts attended, and the last concert I was at which used less letters than before. Dunno where this "24" limit comes from then because mine is more than 24.... Try shorten it just as a test. Maybe for some reason the admins reduced the character limit since last time you put an entry in that field.

  16. Good morning boys and girls! I imagine I'm not the only one recovering from a long weekend and 'adjusting' myself back into work mode. On the bright side - tomorrow is already hump day!
  17. Dear Alsgalpal, You just made me laugh out loud with the god eating comment. Some people actually take a tinge of offense to my name thinking that I went and ate God however that is not necessarily the case In actuality if I didn't abide by the rules of capitalizing the first letter of my name then I would be more of a "god eater" like some mythic beasts from mythology that would eat gods in general - but not necessarily something as sacreligious as eating THE God. Maybe I did though after all he is dwelling inside of me. I truly love to amaze and amuse, so I am delighted to hear that occasionally my witticisms affect you in such a manner. *bows gracefully* Best regards, Godeater
  18. Dear God, If you do dwell inside each of us like some people say, I hope you like hamburgers for lunch because that's what you're going to GET.
  19. I read somewhere that this is the top grossing Canadian film in history. Oh Canada!
  20. QUOTE (GeddysMullet @ Aug 30 2007, 10:25 AM) Ah, so when my best friend killed himself with pills in 1998, he didn't really mean to die and was just so incompetent that he failed at staying alive? Lots of people who kill themselves in ways such as that mean it of course... It's more the opposite scenario where people really are crying out for help (which is also an unimaginably terrible thing for anyone to go through I'm sure) avoid more definitive methods like guns, jumping etc.
  21. mazyyz and tick have some valid points and also this is a touchy subject no matter what so be careful not to interpret things the wrong way or get upset or take anyones comments here too personally. It's not an illness like gingivitis - every situation is different, unique and of course terribly emotional. Unfortunately I've had experience with people I know attempting unsuccessfully and also successfully and I agree that cutting yourself is a very poor way of doing it and a low low chance of 'success'. The fact of the matter is that cutting your wrists is a very painful way to go about it and takes a pile of nerve and time. I would say lots of people who attempt this way are not just crying out for help but actually want to die - it's just they can't finish it. If someone thinks about suicide long enough and is really serious about ending it there are far more definitive ways to go about it like the ways mentioned already, jumping etcetera where the decision is made in a split second. I think this is all part of mazyyz's point.
  22. I haven't seen that movie in years - awesome movie!
  23. Again - I'm not exactly known for my celebrity compassion. Hundreds of thousands of people are emotionally sick, and piles of people including people close to me try to kill themselves and often succeed. At least buddy here can take part of the 75 million in his bank account and go get some good help for his problems. Most people are helpless and alone in their suffering.
  24. QUOTE (PuppetKing2112 @ Aug 27 2007, 04:35 PM) Just found out Neil Young is coming to the Keller on 10/22. Going to make every effort to go to that. Awesome! He is one of the very very few musical artists left that I haven't seen but would REALLY like to experience!
  25. QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Aug 22 2007, 09:54 AM) I wanted to see Cradle of Filth in Montreal on the 20th but I think seeing three shows in three different cities in three nights would be too much. Aaaargh - I really wanted to go and so did a friend, so we broke down and bought Filth tickets. Three concerts in three nights in three different cities... should be an interesting road trip!
